Hello. I'm back to proper analysis, though i'm very proud of the 300 or so views that the last 'analysis' got... fooled ya! 😉 😆

I'm grinning from ear to ear today 😃 😃...very happy and pleased.... not because Abhimanyu is the new VP... kisi ek ko toh hona hi tha and Rajeev Khandelwaal is leaving the show.... but because i loved the way Gaurav did the scene... loved it absolutely... Teena watch it asap!

I've always maintained that he does scenes without dialogues best... and this is another example of that.

The initial discomfort with the gun, the realisation of how much is at stake here, the memory of everything that has gone wrong or seemed wrong.... the very stylised putting away of the gun.... the asking for permission to listen to music, because that part of Abhimanyu is not dead, the essential person takes time to change even when ideologies do.... the smile on Aalekh's face as he now knows his captain can do it (ok, i'm getting slightly carried away here but then I loved 'O captain, my captain' as a child and cry everytime i watch it in Dead Poets Society - my absolute fav movie, by the way!).... the complete ease with which he shoots the first time, the complete control over the instrument, the blankness to everything else.... the moment when he fires the first shot was the moment of the sequence for me....

Then came the twist of the neck before shooting the next round... i didnt like that.... it was the one thing that jarred (at least for me) in the entire sequence... i thought 'are you gonna show red fires in his eyes next?!'.... but then he shot again and the ease returned... and the hand raised in the air before firing the third shot was a good touch.... and then the incredulity after all three shots were fired... Abhimanyu is not immediately happy or even elated.... he conveyed the sense that accompanies most accomplishments 'I know i'm supposed to be happy and if i sit down to think about it, i'm probably happy but all i feel right now is numb'.... that disbelief, numbness... the joy seeped in slowly, through the smile which was part joy, part disbelief and part 'i've done it'... then came the look heavenwards, half in gratitude and half still in stupor... and it was with all of these feelings that the scene ended...

And all of this without a single spoken word.

And people wonder why I'm a believer!

Ok then back to the next two scenes... competent as always.

The next scene conveyed the sense of their being more battles to win... the sense of not being entirely happy, but also being preoccupied in assessing the victory rather than enjoying it.... the enjoyment came in the next scene actually... in the public enacment of the victory, in the oath taking ceremony.

In the oath taking ceremony, he looked a bit too shareef for my liking... i prefer him in angst ridden frameworks rather than in the 'all good' or 'all star' ones... Also, i dont think the voice over was required.... it had already been established how important this moment was to Abhimanyu.... but the happiness is subdued, not an overt one.... and its not that the expression is subdued but the feeling is not... one doesnt always find the happiness one thinks one will at the end of that road.... dil ke khush rakhne ko ghalib khayal rah jaata hai!.... but here i think that is not what is being shown.... there is more to this... will speculate tomo since tomo's episode seems to take this idea further.

Anyway, in the oath taking, Gaurav stressed on certain words in each line... it was effective in some lines and fell flat in others... can substantiate with examples but will do so only if someone asks.... too tired to type further.

See ya all tomo... ciao. One more Cheshire cat grin and i'm gone 😃

I've always maintained that he does scenes without dialogues best... and this is another example of that. hello me too ...me too... but I want more scenes of gaurav in Punjabi esp with Suriji...even "Jo bole Sonihaal" would do.... 😊

Anyway, in the oath taking, Gaurav stressed on certain words in each line... it was effective in some lines and fell flat in others... can substantiate with examples but will do so only if someone asks.... too tired to type further. will comment on the analysis when I watch the show....ofcourse asap.... and these examples you can whisper ... if you are too tired to type....😃

and you need not apologise.... you are forgiven after you have quoted my name in your analysis...😉😆.... and ofcourse because you have written another amazing analysis...😃

Yes you did ---you devil-😆

I've always maintained that he does scenes without dialogues best... and this is another example of that.

Yes he does enact well through his eyes and face👏. But I love his dialogues😳 more, till now. He is definitely getting the best ones!⭐️ Cheers to that👍🏼

I liked this scene; the flashbacks and the anguish of loosing, the spirit to fight and win👍🏼. The initial hesitation to pick up the gun & shoot but after thinking he seeks motivation from music. Alekh does give a disappointing look when he sees Abhi in a dilemma. He wants him to win to do it for his own sake. I think somewhere Alekh relates this to his own life's experience where he was disheartened, beaten and subjugated. His travails of life in overcoming the adversities and live through it all.👏

Completely agree I too didn't like the twist of the neck and found it out of place but didn't expect you also to dislike-😆.

But the scene from taking aim and pulling the trigger was well shot👍🏼. Once he had played the music (seems they are showing it as his strength, the source of his energy, his solace) he was calmed and knew he could do it. It was simply doing it now. No roadblocks. After accomplishing he was relieved from within and didn't want words to say so. It was his internal fight and he had to win it to strengthen his belief in his own self and perhaps others too. I found the look towards sky indicative of thanking God for helping him do this. The cheers or applauds didn't matter as much as the release of heaviness from within. I don't know how to put it in Eng but in Hindi 'atma shanti'. I think after shooting he breathed easy.😊

Ok then back to the next two scenes... competent as always.

You bet!!!👏

The next scene conveyed the sense of their being more battles to win... the sense of not being entirely happy, but also being preoccupied in assessing the victory rather than enjoying it....

Yes you are right. Abhi is not elated of winning but introscepting and is clear of his feelings and tells Rajveer that " abhi toh jung shuru hui hai" as he knew that this battle was for only for his own self but now he has to fight with perception of others. He has broken the stereotype about him but he needs to carve a place for himself. He was more of envisioning the situations to follow and knew he will have to prove it with them. The realization that there are tougher times to come and he better be prepared. He is finally on the path of becoming a soldier in a complete sense, someone who is not afraid to shoot or has fear of war.

the enjoyment came in the next scene actually... in the public enacment of the victory, in the oath taking ceremony.

In the oath taking ceremony, he looked a bit too shareef for my liking... i prefer him in angst ridden frameworks rather than in the 'all good' or 'all star' ones... I found him feeling honored than happy. He felt finally he was being held with respect and honor.

I also liked Naina's scene😳 with Rajveer she seemed so much in love but perhaps unaware of it or unable to say it. Huda seemed amused than angry at Abhi winning.😆Alekh-Naina scene was funny😆 & confirmation of her being in love with Rajveer.

Hi..... saw the episode well in time .... loved it a lot.... ahem ahem... raising the bar of Indian TV Stdds... some more episodes like today and we will keep on doing Abhimanyu Abhimanyu for another year even if LRL2 ends...😉

Ya Abhimanyu is changed a lot... still remember his entry in the show..... believer in non violence... yes discomfort with the gun and then putting it back very well done.... there is another layer of intensity coming in Abhimanyu's character which was not on the fore in the initial episodes...But still lighter layer is not dead... still knows his soul is music and can overcome this discomfort .... though I wondered why did Raj smile when Abhimanyu asked for permission of music... he knew that this is not ABhimanyu's domain.... though I liked Alekh's confidence in his captain... was in a dilemma for few momnets but his belief came back when his captain started shooting...

Though the twist in the neck was not jarred to me when it happened for the first time... conveyed discomfort in the body language as well... something I liked about Gaurav's acting always... his body language goes with every dialogue... but I think was not required second time....

I loved expressions at the end... that numbness that I have done this... still I cant feel anything... I loved it...😃

And all of this without a single spoken word.

And people wonder why I'm a believer!.... who wonders...😉

Ok then back to the next two scenes... competent as always.

In oath taking ceremony , I also could see him more comfortable ... still the expression was subdued... as if only he knew there is a big battle still to be won..but the belief and confidence is boosted..... others seem happy as if this was the goal to be achieved...

Anyway, in the oath taking, Gaurav stressed on certain words in each line... it was effective in some lines and fell flat in others... can substantiate with examples but will do so only if someone asks.... too tired to type further.

helllllllllooooooo... i also noticed significant modulation in voice and tone when he took the oath...quite deliberate this time for sure.... lines were so flat as they were recited by Puneet Issar... but as he started speaking.... hmmm... well done...😊

See ya all tomo... ciao. One more Cheshire cat grin and i'm gone 😃

Good that you enjoy the dialogues so much 😊

Yes perhaps Aalekh does relate to Abhimanyu at some level, though they do come from radically different backgrounds.

Completely agree I too didn't like the twist of the neck and found it out of place but didn't expect you also to dislike-😆.

I think 'no roadblocks' puts it best.
