Last night's episode was so good. We're getting stuff fleshed out without killing the mystery.
DAMON & BONNIE
Even though the episode was mainly about Elena and her trying to forget Damon, I loved how we got it mostly explained about where Damon and Bonnie ended up. They are apparently in a parallel plane of Mystic Falls (so reminded me of a show named Sliders, that I watched when I was younger) but it's 1994 and Damon and Bonnie are the only people there. Or are they?
They're reliving the same day over and over again and they've been stuck with each other for four months. I really enjoyed their scenes last night. Damon cooking, them being all domestic but the angst and the bickering was still there which is the classic Bamon we've known from the show (since they had a completely diff r'ship in the books).
Someone else is there as Bonnie realized. Wonder who it is and if it's a goodie or a baddie? I'm leaning towards baddie 😆 I would love though for Bonnie to get her magic back.
ELENA
I actually wouldn't have guessed that her birthday back in the Season 3 opener was when she fell for Damon. I would've thought that it was back in the finale of the first season when he was dying from the wolf bite and she kissed him for the first time. But the way Elena explained what she felt that day on her birthday, I was like awww... 😳
The length of time and probing it took for Ric to finally get her to the place where Damon was nothing more that Stefan's brother and a monster who killed her brother, showed how strong a connection Elena has with Damon and how deep her love runs for him.
I'm not worried that Ric erased her love for Damon, she'll get it back. Because ultimately they belong together.
STEFAN
I know he's probably not a fav among the fan groups right now but I like to see things from eah character's POV. I don't think ...that well...Stefan obviously didn't think of how his actions would've affected the people who love him. (Yes I'm talking about Caroline 😆). I believe in his own way he was trying to come to terms with what happened but in a way he was being selfish just locking himself off from everyone who mattered and starting anew in an effort to move on from the loss.
Not a very considerate decision but I kinda get it...
ENZO
He's what I expect a Klamon Jr. to be like. He's got equal parts in personality of Damon and Klaus with his reactions and everything. And he's s true friend. He never gave up. Stefan giving up was his way of letting go to what he felt had no way of coming back but in a way too, it doesn't ring true with what we know these brothers would do for each other.
In any cases, the 2nd episode was good and this season looks promising. I just hope they don't screw this up!!
PS- Enzo being in the middle where Stefan holds Elena's hands in the cast promotional pic we've all been analyzing could be there because of what he told Stefan last night when he killed that girl and what is to come in epi. 3
PPS Poor Jer! I mean his behaviour is not a good coping mech but he's been paying Bonnie's phone bill all this tme just so he could hear her voice on her voicemail and feel like he's talking to her. Awww ðŸ˜
PPPS That girl Elena bit that was hanging around Matt's house is very suspicious and that coach guy or whoever he is, is a Fell. Related to Meredith probably and knows about the town's history obviously. He's gonna be trouble!
