The only story I have read who grew up like this is Prince William. He dated for close to 10 years. His girl friend was nicknamed Waity by the press because they waited so long.

Your parents marriage has a lot to do with how you view commitment and marriage in general IMO. Previously society in India did not look so favorably upon living together. Now it is changing. So is how people are dealing with their relationships.

Kareena moved in with Saif before marriage. So Kapoors are used to it as well.

actually, Kareena exchanged rings with Saif in front of his parents and kids because Tiger Pataudi was against them living together without getting married...and Kareena herself said her mother was not happy with them living in before marriage...
