What makes a movie successful is it making back twice its budget at the box office 😉

A good movie need a unique signature. It will be box office, Long lasting and will be used as references on next era.

For modern movies example,

Rang De basanti makes profit, at the same times being used in No One Kill Jessica back, and 3 Idiots, the all iz well phrases was used back in Anjaana Anjaani.

All of the above. Though I feel a movie is a true success based on the impact it creates. Like I feel this year movies like Queen were more impactful as compared to bigger grossers.
