Ugly Betty debuted on Star World this Wednesday, and boy, is she good! The Amrikan version scores over our home grown Jassi in that subtlety is thrown to the winds. If the fashion house boss is a womaniser, he's shown as such, pretty explicitly. No hemming and hawing and beating around the bush like our Armaan sir did. The US Jassi isn't shown as a complete goof either. She's smart, she knows her limitations as much as she is aware of her capabilities. To top it all, the show doesn't drag. Within the scope of an hour, Betty was introduced, hired by the organisation, went through her professional and domestic frustrations, almost got fired and then re-hired. At this rate, it's going to be a treat to watch forthcoming episodes.

This is an article dated 6th july written by some Aparna Joshi on indiantelevision.com saying some weird things about Jassi and Armaan Sir's character. Also the show was not a drag, till Purab made a "GRAND ENTRY" 🤢 and this only after the first episode. Aparna ji are u being fair comparing a serial which has completed just 1 episode and serial which ran for 2 years 8 months. 🤢 😡?

I'm just wondering whether I'm blind, after reading such crap about my fav character Armaan and my fav serial?

I just saw one scene of Ugly Betty and was tempted to change the channel almost immediately. I think this writer belongs to those class of RNIs (Resident Non-Indians) who believe firmly that everything Indian HAS to be crap and anything "Amrikan" is cool. 🤢 🤢 😡

American ugly betty came after the indian one. i prefer JJKN, ive watched a few of ugly betty episodes and they dont do it for me.
