Chapter-4

Life is not a bed of roses

Life has its own twist and turns which makes it a roller coaster ride for us. Therefore, we should enjoy it to the fullest whether it is heartbreaking situation or an exultant state of affair because from every step, which we take up in our lives that have a powerful impact on our being, which may or may not lead to a happy instant. Treat triumph and disaster alike, since from every mistake, which we make, life teaches a lesson to us that we never overlook.

Two months ago

Aliya has been recovering and Zain was indirectly helping her in all this, as he feared to face Aliya after what all things happened in the past 2 years because of him in some way. He had regretted a lot in all these years and still paying for his mistake, unintentionally done that was.

Zain saw Aliya trying to get up from her bed and was about to fall but suddenly a hand came there for her support that was none other than Zain. She was shocked from the core to see him standing there in front of her; she was completely stunned and had no words to express her feeling.

Aliya-why are you here? (With an annoyed look on her face)

Zain-Are you all right? Why are you trying to get up when the doctor has clearly said you to rest? You are very careless about yourself. (With a concerned look but all of a sudden he realized that he was standing before Aliya and his facial expression were totally changed)

Aliya-Zain. Why are you showing these all concerns now? Where were you when I needed you the most? You should better leave from here, I am happy in my life and I do not want you to spoil my life once more. (Having a stern look with tears brimming in her eyes)

Zain was feeling culpable that how he would tell Aliya that because of his mistakes, he made her life miserable once again.

Zain's POV

What should I do now? I think this is the right time to tell her the truth. I have to make myself negative in front of her so that she does not feel weak. I know she is a fighter and she will come through this. I have to divert her mind from all the stress and this can only happen if she thinks I have changed and has no feelings for her.

Zain-I came here so that I can enjoy seeing you in this condition .I feel pity for you.

(Aliya was shocked to hear all these stuff from Zain's mouth.)

Zain-I came to know that Rehan died in that accident so I came here to console you but I think that you are not at all concerned about that.

(Zain was nervous that how Aliya would react to this, entirely he wanted this to play out positive in front of Aliya in matters of her health)

Aliya totally shaken to know the truth, she never in her dreams wondered that this would happen with her. She collapsed on the ground and started bawling placing her head on the floor. Zain could not see her in such a pain so he went outside with tears rolling down his cheeks.

At the corridor

Shabana-you told her the truth how she reacted. Is she fine?

Zain-phups she will be fine. Please go and tell her that I was behind the accident and I am the one responsible for Rehan's death.

Shabana-Why are you doing this Zain? What will you get by making yourself bad in front of her?

Zain-She will get her life back. You know how stubborn she is, she will do whatever it takes to destroy me. She gets a reason to live her life and it does not matter if she thinks I am bad because her life is more important to me than the respect she have in her life for me.That hatred for me will give her reason to live.

Shabana-Why are you sacrificing so much for her? I am the reason she has to suffer all this. I believed Nafeesa over you and my daughter. I destroyed three innocent lives. I am thankful to you for saving Aliya's life. Please forgive me for my mistakes.

Zain-I am sorry but I cannot forgive those who destroyed my family, my Aliya. I wronged her because of you all and now she has gone so far from me that there is no hope that she will come back to me again. That one-step which I took years ago still has its impact on me but I have learned from my mistake.

At the ward

(Aliya comes to know that Zain has done all this.She is broken into pieces.)

Aliya's monologue

Zain. why you did this to me? What I have done to you that you leaves no stone unturned to crush my happiness.You said leave me I left you.I pleaded you not to divorce me but you divorced me.You never trusted me but always gave importance to third person in this matter. Now the sympathy, which was left in me for you that is finished.I am sorry Zain but this time I am not weak and I will never forgive you for this.(wiping all her tears)

Aliya has completely recovered but now she is no more a happy person. She has buried all her pain in her heart, which has made her a heartless being. She hates Zain sincerely while Zain transferred his share to Aliya, Which Aliya returned to him when she was leaving.

Aliya comes to know about the shares; she has been informed that there is a clause in Usman Sahab's will, which makes her owner of the 50% shares of barkat group.

At Aliya's home

Shabana-why are you in such a deep thinking? Is there anything which you want share with me.

Aliya-Ammi today I got the will which mamu made and it states that I am the owner of 50% share of barkat villa. Moreover, I do not want to see Zain after what all he has done to me.

Shabana feels this is the right time to make Zain and Aliya closer to each other. She thinks she should convince Aliya to join the office.

(Shabana turns back)

Shabana-You should return the shares. What is the use now? Moreover, you hate Zain so much that it must be painful for you to see him daily. Leave it though your mamu will feel bad that his favorite niece is refusing his order. (Giggling)

(Aliya quite confused)

Aliya-No not at all (sudden reaction) I will not let my mamu feel ashamed because of me.

Shabana-No Aliya leave it. You should not go there.

Aliya-No ammi I will join the office from tomorrow onwards.

(Aliya after completing her sentence went inside the room)

Shabana-I know you very well beta, as I am your mother. You do the opposite only. (With a smile on her face)

Next morning

At the office

Zain was working on his laptop as he looked up he could see two beautiful eyes staring at him. He was mesmerized to see her.

Zain-How come you here ma'am. You got rid of those naughty kids that you came here.

Aliya-Zain shut up. (Sitting on the chair with a angry look)

Zain-Hello madam this is my chair. Why are you sitting here? Get up or I will pick you up in my arms.

Aliya-For your kind information I have 50% share of this barkat group. No one can stop me from occupying this place.

Zain went closer to her. They were so close that they could feel each other breath. He pulled her closer to him. Aliya resented but later she was lost in his eyes

Zain-Mamu ki bhanji. (Picking her up in his arms)

(Aliya came into her senses)

Aliya-leave me Zain or I will shout and the whole office would come here. (Trying to free her from his hold)

Zain dropped Aliya and she landed on the floor

Aliya-ouch. How could you do this?

Zain-MKB you only told me to leave you so I freed you and also because now you have become so heavy that my arms were aching. (With a smirk on his face)

Aliya-you idiot, you are calling me fat. Before you loved picking me from here to there and now I have become fat for you. (Hitting him )

Zain-Aree MKB I was just kidding. Stop hitting me please. (Trying to stop her)

Both of them burst out laughing and Zain was so relieved to see his MEZ happy after a long time but soon the situation turned little awkward.

Aliya-Let's, get back to our work. (With a serious look)

Zain-hmm.MKB I will not let this smile wipe out ever from your face. (With a soft voice)

Aliya-You said something.

Zain-No. We should continue our work.

Aliya-hmm. Mr. Zain Abdullah now you watch how I will make your life hell, Best of luck for your future.

Zain-I heard something. Did you say anything?

Aliya-No.
