Okay...

First let me introduce myself, because its a ready possibility that nobody would have seen me here before...

I'm Aru...I love this forum, only that I can't remain active here...

I silently come in here, walking around exploring things, and vanish in the dark night like Padfoot in the driveway of Magnolia cresent (thats what i remember, i read the book more than an year ago)

So...its a Harry Potter forum, so no objections that it will be fillled, actually, brimming with Potterheads...

and most of us would have read all the books, if not all, then most of them, and if not read the books, then watched the films...their amazingness is what brought us here...

So, I may be an exception, or possibly there are a lot of you out there, who like me, have read the whole series, watched all the films, but never have had a book from the series...like, we have borrowed and read the Harry Potter series, but never owned a book...

And being a Potterhead without a Potter book, eh...?

and then we somehow did something for the strong urge to re-read some scene from some book again???

recently it happened, that after ages of requesting and pleading to my parents to let me buy Harry Potter books( they believed that if i get a book of my own, I will stop studying and only read Harry Potter😆) they gifted me Harry Potter book, that too the Deathly Hallows, on my birthday...

And, i believe some of you can relate, that I was the happiest person on the earth to get my own copy of Harry Potter...I was shouting, and yelling, and jumping, and clicking selfies and literally going insane with that book in my hand...

So...I believe some of you must have gone through such a feeling at some point in your life...

So lets share...

How was it when you first got your own Harry Potter book???

okay, I'm also asking those people who just bought the first book out of curiosity with/without any opposition from anyone, and then discovered the wonders it held...

How was it for you all when you got your Harry Potter book???

What made you get it???

Lets share and revisit our memories here, as if this thread is a Pensieve...by sharing something like such feelings when you didn't feel the usual, we can actually know better...know each other, know a whole new perspective of being a Potterhead...

Let's see, that how many diverse feelings exist in connection with this one name that binds us all...Harry Potter... :)

Loved your post !

I too went crazy when I got DH. It was the only book that I got right after its release because when other books were released, I was too young to read it myself .So it was special. I only started reading HP books a year before DH's release and I had completed most of the books by then.When DH was finally released and I got my copy,I was super excited and quite anticipated on how it would end.None of my friends had completed reading it,so I didn't knew whether Harry would survive or not .Since I couldn't hold my anticipation any longer,I proceeded straight to its last page and nothing can express how relieved and surprised I was to see the trio not only well and happy but also as parents!😆 So that's how it went for me

I still remember the first time I got my copy of HP.. I had read CoS before (Yes I read the 2nd book first😆 And coincidentally, I saw the second movie first)) cause I borrowed it from a cousin.. After that I pestered my parents to get me one book and since I had already read CoS, they bought me SS and PoS.. I still remember reading SS the first time.. Completed it in 3 hours and already onto my 3rd book..😃

DH was the first book I bought right after its release.. I was so curious to know if Harry died or not but I wanted to read it from first and not the last page.. So requested my friend to read the last page and she said he is alive (Didn't say anything about his children😆).. I read the book in mere 5 hours I remember and imagine my delight when I read "Nineteen Years Later"..

So that was it for me.. 😊

Like the majority of Potterheads here, I too have read all the books & seen all the movies couple of times but what sets me apart is that i still dont own even a single Potter Book (but most of my cousins do ) !.. 😆

For me the Potter frenzy started after the release of 5th movie & before the release of 6th movie..and i read Deathly Hallows first 😛 .. truth to be told, i didnt read the book , i downloaded audio book & listened to it in my Ipod for 3 days straight.. now i realize what a waste of time it was .. i finished the book in one night but listening to audio book took 3 days.. and when i say, "book" i mean "ebooks" downloaded from the net.. my potter collection is actually in that format , no real books ..😆

Oooh...uk what...this reminds me of my own story...i only started reading Harry Potter when all the 7 books were out...though I was aware that something by the name of Harry Potter did exist when only 6 books were out and i didnt know about the fact that the seventh was still to come...I used to hate Harry Potter when i was a kid, i didn't let my mom watch the films whenever they used to come, i used to just stay away from Harry Potter, i gave out so much hatred...but, my elder cousin brother was a total fan and had all the books and used to read them crazily, telling me on each meet that how many times had he read the whole series...and by that time, DH was released and he used to tell me that he has read it more than 7 times...i used to give him an unbelievable look until one day, out of curiosity, i picked up that book (DH) to see what had made him such a fan of it...my eyes fell on that page in the beginnning, where its written that to whom did Rowling dedicate the book...i read those 6 names, and then the last line, 'and to you, if you have stuck with Harry until the very end.' this was the line that took me and that day, i told my brother, "I want to read Harry Potter. Can i borrow the first book?" and then, my life changed...

hehehehee...such a cute story urs...the huge lot of curiosity pressing on the brain & heart and the whole book left to get the answers...😆 ...i had a neighbor, she was just the same...u must have been so relieved when u got to know the finale...and then...reading the book in peace...honestly...even my curiosity is dangerous, but it doesnt let me proceed to the last page in the beginning...instead it takes such a form where i read each and every page of the book...but not each and every word goes into my head...and when i read it again, i'm like, 'when did that happen?'

so yeah...its comical...

Even I didn't like HP much when I was little.When I was in kindergarden or something I remember my older cousins going on and on about Harry this and Harry that and I was like this 😆

Now that they outgrew their HP phase, I resumed their role😃😉

Are u from America?? coz it is called Sorcerer's Stone there...JKR wrote it as Philosopher's stone...anyways...it really doesnt matter that much...both are the same books😉

ooo...i have my best friend who watched like almost all the films in no order before reading the books...and then i pestered her to read them...

OH my god!!! ur reading speed is fast...too fast...bullet fast!!! if i start reading at that speed, more than half the things would go over my hhead...leave it, i really wont be able to read at that speedd😆

oH!!! thats cool!!!! its only my big bro in my family who has read HP other than me...i have my friends too...but none of them read it..all are tooo happy with the films only...so i had to curb my curiosity till the last page... :P

ooohhh...i so remember when i saw that page...as my usual habit while really books...i just flipped to the last page to see how many pages the book had...and my eyes saw a rather blank page with only three words...which had made themselves pretty visible during the flipping, and i was like...'HAAAWWW!!! 19 YEARS!!! MG OMG OMG!! kya hoga!!!' i had gone so high on adrenaline honestly...and when i read the after 19 years page...oh god...i was so happy...the dialogue by james...'how can i give ur LOVE to PROFfesor neville!!!'

oh it was great...even urs is...

DH...my first ever HP book...that too i got less than a week ago... :P

must say...ur reading speed is out of this world!!!
