Today's episode to me reminded passion versus compassion at so many levels. The episode was gripping and had me on the edge of my seat all along. Great direction and editing as well. I think airlines definitely has advantage of having the episodes aired once a week where they can maintain quality and deliver fabulous episodes. I have no complaints over this being a finite series. Captain Akash and First Officer Ananya both were fabulous from start to finish where their mission and focus was saving the life of a person who was battling between life and death.
As I mentioned earlier, both Akash and Ananya are passionate about their job and now we get to see their compassionate side. Absolutely loved the fact that Akash has gotten to know her to an extent where he no longer sees her as a headstrong, arrogant individual but instead knows that she is someone who is passionate about her job and follows the protocols to the T but would go to an extent of breaking all rules if it involves helping someone to cherish their dream and/or to save someones life. He got that when he saw her willing to let go of her ego and admit her fault to the committee to help an elderly woman with her husband's ashes just so she can fulfill her husband's dream of flying one day. I was touched by Ananya's sincerity and genuineness and no doubt Akash was as well. That was an eye opening moment for him to realize that Ananya is good at her profession and also good at heart. She tends to get swayed away by her emotions and hence he was asking her to get a grip. I thought that was very personal and friendly gesture when he held her shoulders firmly and asked to get a hold of herself. Is it just me or did you all notice that Akash was all touchy feely to Ananya more than once? Not that I complain or anything but it shows the level of comfort that they both share and she seems to have no issues with it as well.
Passion is something that is personal and internal to an individual. Compassion on the contrary is conceptualized as external. Despite the fact that both passion and compassion are conceptually different, I strongly believe that in both Ananya and Akash's case it turned out to be an external manifestation of a multitude of emotions which can be argued to include passion. In other words, they both were passionately trying to save a person'a life and keep his family from falling apart. I feel that despite the fact that they both are in trouble for disobeying captain Rathore I think they will come out of it unscathed. At least, I personally think that Akash might pull some strings to save both of their jobs considering he is a senior pilot and would be able to justify the fact that all they were doing is trying to save someone's life and in turn saving Inde Airlines reputation. They did not go on a joy ride if Rathore accuses them of disobeying purposely. He needs to be shown his place and I think Ananya will do it.
I also like the fact that there is an air of mystery surrounding Akash and it will come to the front next week based on what we heard in the precap about Mahima's murder. Does it have to do anything with the intruder? Why was Mahima targeted? She seemed worried last week and wanted to notify Ananya of something and decided to not tell her seeing Akash in her room. In today's flight, I was hoping for her to say something to Natasha but she seemed, sounded and acted normal. I am definitely excited for next week.
