So I just came across this...
I thought she always maintained a stance against such endorsements?

I think she did it earlier then over the time she realised it was wrong and stopped supporting it. I dont think so there is a problem if she realised what she was doing is wrong and rectified it.
However if she has endorsed after she said it then surely she is a hypocrite, but this one is definitely before that .

this seems way too old...i think she would have done it in those initial days when she didn't matter much...when her opinion could matter she did the right thing and took a stand against it👏

I think as a model she did many ads when she was younger and realized she doesn't support fairness creams later on and refused to do the ads. Nothing wrong in growing up and changing your view points. Yes, now if she endorse fairness creams then its hypocrisy.

I think at that time Fair and Lovely was a huge brand..and wid the orthodox thinking thy didnt find it wrong 2 endorse it:-fair skin is "beautiful" skin..afterwards wid changed thinking and prob of her own thinking as well she stopped..

Nothing wrong in changing one's opinions. But she behaves as she NEVER endorsed fairness creams. When she did endorse its better to say she has changed her opinion over time rather than act holier than thou.

This is from around 1992, a couple of years before she became Miss World. She was just a model, not a public personality.

She was 18-19, she must have matured. Don't we all?

At least I respect the fact that she has strongly objected endorsing such creams ever since and took a stand. When we have actors in their 30s and 40s still endorsing them.

Bakra Khan fans 😆 if she refused to do so after becoming celebrity, kudos to her!
