Look, I gave three or four replies, and in none of that did I talk about Indian channels were more in comparison. I compared the reach of Indian channels in Pakistan and said the same wasn't applicable the other way around. (@starstruck's post pretty much talks about that in more detail.)

I just went back and read my posts, and okay I can see how one line could be perceived as my saying, Pakistani channels are not comparable to Indian channels in terms of numbers. But that is not what I meant, and it should be fairly obvious considering my previous replies. Each reply was not a standalone, but rather was in the same vein as the other ones.

Again my initial point was that Indians DID watch Pakistani shows, mostly through VHS.

Want proof? Look at what a Google Search brought me to. From 1988

Edit. I did mistakenly think a few Pakistani serials had aired on DD. I admit I probably was wrong on that front, from reading this.

you skipped the main episodes. 😆 Between episode 11 and 18, a lot happened..and a lot was explained. Maliha's character and her insecurities were all explained in the episodes that you skipped.

In terms of career oriented? hmm..I can't think of any that I've seen. Maybe you could try Dreamers? I haven't seen the show myself but have heard about it. I've heard it's mainly about college life etc.

Oh man, I really couldn't handle her turning all bitchy and nasty. It made me sad to see friends going apart especially for Zaara (that was her name right) 😭😭...

Oh well, I shall try to watch those episodes today once I make myself rough and tough 😆

Btw, did you like the ending especially how she didn't bother with Maliha ?

Yeah, I really did like what Zara chose to do at the end. Maliha was never a true friend. She subconsciously always found herself to be superior to Zara because of their socioeconomic differences...which is why she never in her right mind thought that Zara and Junaid would ever fell in love. She felt that Zara owed her everything because of the countless favors she did for her. Maliha was really selfish. She not only ruined her own life, but Junaid's, Zara's, Fizza's and basically every other person's in between. Zara really changed post the ending of her friendship with Maliha. The incident took the life out of her. It took her years to get over Maliha, Junaid and the entire saga that happened between all of them...and even in the end, she didn't get over it all entirely. She had to move on..and if she had gone back to any of their lives, she would've only taken a step back instead. Also, it would've been hard living with Junaid knowing what his sister aka her best friend did to her. The situation would always linger in your head as you're back in that environment. Not only that, Junaid had a daughter now. Granted he did file for a divorce in the end, I think society would've termed Zara a homewrecker on top of everything else. So yeah, it was best for Zara to have moved on from Maliha..though, I don't think she ever got over Junaid...but, going back to him after everything that had happened, just wasn't feasible anymore. Zara even states that Junaid will always be a part of her, but she has to move on.

I watch shows for entertainment, not to enlighten myself about social issues in life. That's what most Pakistani shows are about, with a few exceptions like ZGH. Hence I find most Pakistani shows boring and regressive to a point. I know Indian shows are no less regressive, but they are not AS boring in my opinion. There are some good shows that have a good entertainment factor but with entertainment I don't mean shows like Dil Mil Gaye which made a mockery of doctors and had a male lead who resembles Johnny Bravo with blue contacts. I tried watching that show to find out what all the hoopla was about but gave up in 2 episodes. I used to watch YHM but when the female lead was being portrayed as "mahaan" I quit. I also watched IPKKND which was quite entertaining for first few months despite having a poor storyline. Saw someone comparing it with Madhubala here and laughed...Madhubala was sleep inducing with a nauseating male and female lead, to say the least.

But yeah, it's not necessary that everyone finds the same shows entertaining.

Just don't agree with how Pakistani shows are touted as the best thing ever. Not for me they are not.

Ahhh this makes me wanna check out those missed episodes, shall do to enjoy the sweet revenge. What Maliha did was crossing the boundary and as you said ruined so many lives at the same time including their kids...I loved Zara confrontation with her in the last episode and how the meal she would buy for her would be the only meal for her for the day...😭😭 And Maliha ruined something so pious and innocent...Sucks...
