Part 9

A few days had passed. Life had been going better than what RK had expected. Mr. Kapoor had told RK that Bhatia has decided to come to India. RK was eagerly waiting for him to come now. And he was sure that he is not going to let him escape this time.

Apart from that his life with Madhu had been a blessing. He was so happy around her. And he had decided that soon he would start a new life with her. After killing Bhatia he would leave everything. RK was lying on his bed thinking about his future with Madhu. But then he realized that Madhu doesnt know him. He loves her and she deserves to know who he actually is. He would tell her everything and also promise her never to return back to his old life.

But he was afraid. What if Madhu refuses me? No.. she too loves me a lot. I know that. She would get angry and upset but she won't go away from me. But wouldn't she be hurt that I hid such a big thing.. but I would explain her everything.. whatever punishment she decides I am ready to take it.. but I cant betray her more..'. RK decided to tell her all the truth about himself as soon as possible.

"Hey Rishu.." Madhu said in her jolly tone as she entered his cabin.

"Hi.. Madhu I was thinking..." RK said nervously. He had decided to propose her today. And he could feel the tension building up.

"Yes... I know you can think.." Madhu said playfully.

" Yeah so I was thinking that there is this new restaurant at the end of this street. And Sikander was saying its quite beautiful.." RK said smiling slightly.

"Really?... I didnt go there.." Madhu said thinking to herself.

"Yeah.. so I was thinking... i mean dont you think we should go and check it out.." RK said.

"Yeahh... right..." Madhu said nodding thougtfully. "We are food inspectors.. we should check it.." Madhu said.

RK looked at her baffled. What did she say? Madhu looked at him as she pursed her lips. Finally she burst out laughing seeing him while RK looked at her even more confused.

Madhu controlled her laughter and then looked at him, "Hold your nose.." she said casually.

"What?" RK asked shocked.

"Just hold it..." she insisted.

RK rolled his eyes and held his nose between his finger and thumb

"Noo... through the other way round... from behind your head." She said.

RK looked at her baffled. "What? What happened to you?"

"Why? You only want to do things the longer way right?" She asked him

"You wanted to ask for date? Great.. why are you so blushy about it... we will go for a date.." Madhu said smiling.

RK chuckled hearing her.. "you are unbelievable..!"

"So.. Your place or mine?" Madhu asked him seductively.

RK's heart skipped a few beats... "what?" He barely got that out.

Madhu burst out laughing.. "you are such a girl!!" She laughed.

"You are mad!" RK said frustrated.

"No... i am mad.hu.." she laughed again.

RK shook his head at her as he smiled. "I wish i could be you..." he said.

"No... i dont want to be a lez.." Madhu said acting horrified. Then suddenly she was really horrified. 'What did she say?!!!'

"That means..." RK said with widened eyes.

"What?" Madhu said acting as if she said nothing, covering up.

"You think of me like..." RK said naughtily. Finally he had cornered her.

"Like a friend..." Madhu asserted with wide eyes.

"Ahaan... I see... like friends with benefits?" RK said with a raised eyebrow still smiling naughtily.

"You are too much!!" Madhu fumed as she turned to go back.

"Ok I m sorry.." RK called out from behind now laughing.

Madhu turned back and smiled. "fine. Tomorrow... 8 pm.. pick me up.." she said in attitude and went away.

The next day RK waited for Madhu outside her house. It seemed as if not many people lived there. He remembered that he had never asked Madhu about her family. Whom does she live with?

That when he saw Madhu coming out of her door and walked towards him. She looked so beautiful. She wore blue dress which ended just about her knee. RK felt loss of words. She looked so different, so different of what she looks at the office. Madhu came and stood in front of him.

"Lets go.." she shrieked in excitement.

RK jerked out of his thoughts. ". You look great..."

"Really?? Thanks a ton.." she said happily.

"And different... You look so simple in office.." he said still not able to believe that Madhu can look so different.

"Yeah.. I dont like to dress over the top for office.. you know every place and occasion has its own essence... Not like Dipali... Dress for ofice as if you are about to walk the ramp.." she said making a face while RK burst out laughing.

"thank god you behave the same..." RK said while Madhu giggled hearing him.

"Wow.. Car?? I thought you dont have one..." Madhu said narrowing her eyes playfully.

"Yeah... actually i dont use it much..." he said scratching his head.

"Ohh.. thats good..." Madhu sat in the car.

"Do you live alone?" RK asked casually while driving.

"Yeah.. kind of..." Madhu gave a slight smile.

"Kind of?" RK asked confused.

"You will know later.." she said smiling.

They reached the restaurant. Madhu looked around. "Its amazing... And thank god you planned something this time.." she said looking around.

RK smiled and gestured something to the manager who nodded his head seeing them. The manager came and welcomed Madhu with a bouquet and then directed them to a private dining area.

Madhu looked around the place. It was beautiful. She had a big satisfied smile on her face and RK felt his world shining in those eyes. The place was decorated so beautifully. There were flowers and lightning. And in the middle was a table with a beautiful aromatic candle lit in between. The whole setup was so grand and romantic.

Madhu looked at him and smiled. "I didn't know you were so romantic.." she whispered.

"Even I didnt know..." he said smiling. Madhu giggled hearing him.

RK went and pulled the chair for her while Madhu sat. She looked at him in appreciation. RK sat on his chair while Madhu kept staring at him.

RK looked at her watching him so intently. "What happened?" He asked.

"I was thinking that this is the same guy who didnt even have the courtesy to say Sorry the first day we met.." She smiled while RK laughed hearing her.

"Yeah.. I think I learned this from you.." he said smiling at her.

"Good for you.."

They both talked for sometime and ate their food. Madhu kept on teasing him and they kept laughing every now and then. It was like a dream.. a beautiful dream.

"Madhu.." RK said to her nervously. He wanted to tell her a lot of important things. "I want to tell you something... In fact a lot of things.."

"Yeah.. go on.." Madhu said smiling.

"Madhu... Since the day I met you.. I have felt my life changing.. I wasnt like this before. I wasnt even who I am here... It was you who has pulled me in this life..." he tried to tell her but his words werent picking up what he wanted to convey.

"Oh my god.. Rishu.. again you started this.." she said rolling her eyes.

RK took in a deep breath.. "Okay.. Madhu.. I am not what I seem.." he said looking intently at her.

"What does that mean?" She said confused.

"I am not any MBA from London... I am not Rishabh Kundra the project manager... I dont even know what all this mean.." RK said nervously.

Madhu just stared at him. She didnt know how to respond.

"I am a gangster. That house that we had went that day is my real house." RK didnt know what else to say.

"What!!" Madhu exclaimed. "You lied? Betrayed me?"

"But I will leave everything.. we would go away.. I will never do anything wrong. I promise Madhu. You are my life.. and I would do anything to be with you..." RK said panicking that Madhu might get angry at her.

"But..." Madhu said not able to reply properly. "You think its that easy?"

"Madhu You trust me..?" He asked holding her hand.

Madhu looked at him as if hypnotized and nodded.

"Thanks... I promise you.. Soon we would go away from all this.. I would leave all this and we would start a new life.." RK said to her with confidence.

Madhu smiled at him. She nodded with tears in her eyes. "Promise na?" she asked.

"Yes.. I promise Madhu.. There is something else I wanted to say." RK said to her smiling relieved.

"What?" Madhu asked smiling.

"Will you marry me?" He asked.

Madhu gasped hearing him. "Like this??? No!" She replied with widened eyes.

RK looked at her confused.

"Kneel down!" She demanded adamantly.

"What..." he said.

"Kneel down Rishu. not like this.." she said.

"Ohh.." RK smiled and walked to her chair and kneeled down as he held her hand.

"Now beg..." Madhu said in attitude while RK laughed seeing her. RK took in a deep breath while Madhu giggled seeing him.

"Madhubala.. My love... Will you please marry me.." RK said to her.

Madhu smiled seeing him..
