Part 10

"Madhubala.. My love... Will you please marry me.." RK said to her.

Madhu smiled seeing him.. "No.." she replied.

RK looked at her with a confused smile. Then he broke into a slight laugh. "Okay... what else do you want me to do.?" He asked smiling.

"Nothing.. My answer is just No.." she said as her face turned from a smile into a hard face and she pulled her hand from RK's hold with a jerk.

RK was taken aback. "Madhu.. Come on, stop joking.." he said still smiling a little.

"This is no joke Rishabh Kundra..." she said standing up. "See... You are kneeling down infront of me.. begging for love.." she said with an evil smile. "But you know whats going to happen... Poofff!! your dream would break.." she said as she poked a finger on his shoulder and pushed him a little to disbalance him.

RK looked at her stunned with eyes wide open.

"Do you know why I am refusing you?" She asked him while RK looked at her still in shock.

She bent down to his ear and whispered. "Because I haattte you..." she emphasized the word.

RK turned to face her with a confused and shocked expression.

"Yes Rishabh Kundra..! I hate you!!" Madhu screamed as she turned around to walk away.

RK stood up and went behind her. He held her arm and forcefully turned her to face him.

"Do you even know what you are saying.?" He said angrily.

"Yes.. I know... I am refusing to love you.. To love my father's murderer!" She screamed with a hurt and shaking voice.

That was another shock to RK. "What?" He barely got that out.

"Yes Rishabh Kundra you killed my father... years ago.. You destroyed my whole family!!" She screamed at him while RK just stood like a statue as her words hit him. His grip was now loosened and Madhu held his hand and pushed it away.

"Dont you dare touch me with your dirty hands.. Those hands which are covered in my father's blood.." she said making a disgusted face at him as her eyes welled up.

"Madhu... what are you saying.? It must be a misunderstanding.." RK said confused to his wits end.

"Dont call me that.. I have felt disgusted with myself enough hearing that from you.. My name is Madhubala Shamsher Malik..." she said to him still controlling her tears but maintaining the firmness of her voice.

"Shamsher Malik..." RK said as he thought to himself and then he looked at her with a shocked expression.

"You are his daughter?" He asked in disbelief.

"Yes... I am his daughter... and her daughter who's husband was taken away because of you.. who led a painful life because you took her only support.. My mother was left alone in this cruel world between wolves.. she never let me feel that I was an orphan.. But I felt it Rishabh Kundra! I felt it...! When she used to cry alone at night.. When she didnt wear jewellery like other women did.. when she didn't wear beautiful clothes... I felt it.. When she would go out to earn bread I felt it... when she alone had to be my father and mother too I felt it.. She had to face all the pain because the monster like you had existed somewhere!" She said looking at him with hateful eyes.

A tear fell through RK's eyes hearing her. Did he do that much of wrong? He wanted Madhu to be the happiest person in the world, untouched by the world's pain and evil but because of him she had to feel so much agony. He just stared at her in pain.

"You always used to ask me what I think while sitting alone... I used to think how to break you, how to destroy. How to kill you like you killed my father and yet make you suffer the pain that my mother went through. I wanted to see you broken and shattered the way you broke my mother... And thats what I used to plan daily. Remember that day you fell unconscious...! Yes right... That was me... I planned how to get closer and closer to you..." Madhu said in an evilly deep voice as she stepped closer to RK.. Her painful voice was now replaced by a victorious and evil tone.

"All that you think happened co-incidentally was not that much of a coincidence after all.. Me standing outside Kapoor's cabin everytime you went in... taking you to your old house.. calling you Rishu when you thought I did by mistake... Everything was planned... except! Except for that first collision.. and thats when I realized that bappa has given me a chance to avenge myself. Thats why he made me the first one to meet you.. I swear I had cried so much that day seeing my father's murderer standing there all hail and happy.. But Now! You are gone RK... You will stay shattered and lonely all your life..." she said as she slightly pushed his shoulder that made him trip.

But he still stared at her eyes. His face was distraught and a tear fell from his eye. Yes.. he felt broken.. he felt shattered.

"Madhu... Its not you. You are angry at me for hiding the truth just... But you love me I know..." he said as he went closer to her and held her by her arms not ready to believe and trying to get a positive answer.

"No RK! Its the reality.. Try as you may... Madhubala can never fall for RK.. Never fall for her father's murderer.." she said with hateful eyes. She seemed she could burn him with those eyes.

"You believe I killed your father, right? Kill me.. Kill me Madhu" he said as he forcefully brought her hands up and thrust a gun in her hands. "Kill me!" He said as he pointed the gun at his forehead. "But dont say that!" He almost shouted.

Madhu tried to pull her hands off the gun.

"I wont kill you RK.. Your guilt would kill you now... Your loneliness would kill you.. Till now you never had habit to be with anyone and you never felt the need but now.. You would feel what it is to loose a loved one.. Hate yourself now RK.. Hate yourself!!" She screamed at him.

RK looked at her with defeated eyes. Tears flowed down his eyes. Could this be real.? Is it a bad dream?

"But I love you Madhu..." RK said defeatedly as a last attempt.

"Good... Now you will know what is the pain.. But there can be no relation between us.. Never! Madhubala and RK will never have there names taken together.. I hate you' Madhu said angrily and turned to walk away.

RK stood there defeatedly as he saw Madhu walking away with determined steps. He felt his whole universe sucked away from him. Each step Madhu took away from him made him feel like he would loose his breath. She wanted him to known what it is to loose a loved one. He felt like laughing and crying fr himself. Laughing at the irony of the statement 'Didnt he get enough pain of loosing his loved ones?' And crying because again he stood there shamelessly like he did everyday infront of that mirror. He hated himself once again.

Actually I didnt want Madhu to be a puppet to anyone.. like kapoors or bhatias.

i wanted her to be as strong and upright as RK..
