She's not the best singer nor the most versatile but she doesn't claim to be either. I think if one girl is going to go far in the competition, I feel it may be her.

Yes Ankita is confident but thats a good thing. She performs and sings like she WANTS to be there on the stage. Not as if someone forced her to go up there and perform. Ankita is one of the best, if not the best, performer from all 12 contestants. I think janta likes the quality of performance, personality, charisma with some singing talent. 😃 Since this is II3, singing well is just not enough. If they're looking for a playback singer, you need a voice which suits Bollywood playback singing 😛, whether it be for item numbers or slow romantic duets. You need it all. Having training but not "the voice" just doesn't cut it anymore. Judges will definitely point that out.

As for the song choice, I think Ankita will surprise us in the upcoming weeks, just like she did with her WC comeback. 😆

It would be really funny if all this turns out to be wrong and she is voted out this week. 😆

yea...she has the right look, attitude, courage etc to win this competition...shes not the best or the worst singer...shes an all rounder...but i guess it all depends on the days performance, it seems like the audience has been voting based on that...if she sucks one day, she might most probably be in the bottom 4 and even get eliminated...but i doubt she will do bad, even if she doesnt do well singing wise, she makes up for it with performance...also, she seems to have the most support from the judges

In the beginning I never cared for Ankita. Didn't have any opinion on her, good or bad. But slowly I started liking her renditions and performances. She is the only one who can sing well and perform at the same time without sounding off-key. If I may say so then out of all non-trained singers Prashant, Parleen, Chang and Ankita, she is the best. All others have showed their limitations. I don't agree with the versatility blame. Most of the singers have stayed in the comfort zone and flawed when they attempted something new. Well! the opinion varies from person to person. For a non-trained if she has this much command over sur then with little bit help she can do wonders and she is truely an Indian Idol material.

Someone who doesn't care what the rest think about her. Someone who doesn't try to fit into the crowd. Someone who does what she thinks is right. Someone who is least bothered about backbiters. Someone who takes competition as it is and tried her level best to excel it. 👏👏

Well I personally stand by what i think, she is way too overrated.

I mean do char sunidhi ke gaane kya achche gaa liye sab ne usko saar pe chada rakha hai. Okay she has an inherent talent for performace BUT throughout the next few weeks , EVERYONE WILL IMPROVE IN PERFORMANCE simply because it's very easy to improve in that facet of the competition. It's extrememly easy. I mean one week you may be stiff adnd frightened , the next week you can go to power performer. Now she stands out in performance because the rest of the people haven't developed that much in terms of performance.

And besides MONOTONY. C mon people will get bored. Same thing week after week after week. Versatility is so little. Gaayeki is little. That kinda thing takes a long time to develop. Perofrmance , x facotr blah blah mein toh everyone will overtake her but how far can she improve her gaayeki? Not too much cos it takes a long time and a lot of riyaaz to do so.

And I'd like to ask one more question. What her range in songs. As in the range of surs. I think she can just go from maybe dha in lower octave to sa in the high octave. I highly doubt she can go beyond that. Maybe till re or ga in the higher octave. But that vastness range is necassary to become a singer at any level.

And being trained and untrained isn't an issue. The best man should win. the contestnats should be judged at the same level. The bifurcation of trainedand untrained may hav happened initially but now they have to be judged at the same level.

For me no, she doesn't even come in the top 5.

No offence but... too technical for me.. 😕

I enjoy her performances, because I dont judge her in technicality, I just watch all participants as a whole...

And I like to think most janta is like me.. non-technical- especially when it comes to music intricacies...

None taken. okay so maybe people don't necessarily understand it in terms of music but they can differentiate it using their ears. I mean say if someone sings in the middle and low octave (sounds low pitched) one week and then sings something in the high octave (sounds high pitched) , it is very pleasing to the ears. And despite them being say in the same genre , that versatility creeps in. It's just there.

Songs with vast ranges are always appreciated because they actually you know emanate the singer's talent. Remember Nihira Joshi sang some song in which she sang the parts of both the singer who tends to sing in the lower octave and the other singer. and everyone was like wah wah wah. Some dude in srgmp 2007 sang some song and himesh pointed out that that song had been sung by two singers and everyone was like wowwww!

and this is something every layman can understand. I mean even sunidhi has some songs which have very high notes but she keeps singing ones which are restricted to certain notes.

Range also defines versatility.

Okay granted you enjoy her performances but for how long will people be satisfied with the same kinda performance. again, monotony. Lack of versitility. At this point, it's nice. Oh ankita!1 Blah blah blah. but for 12 more rounds. I don't think so.

I liked Ankita's confidence during the piano rounds but never really her singing. From her first audition, I wasn't impressed. After her elimination episode and WC comeback, my views changed. She's still not in my top five but that may change soon.

Ankita said she learned music in a mandir. That should count for something. Now I don't know if it counts as years of formal training from a famous singer or composer. But she's definitely no newcomer. Ravi was trained too but he was a big disappointment last year.

The same way how people are going gaga over Parleen's performances. May the best singer of any gender win.😛

i like ankita cos she has a killer attitude, she believes in her self and was nice to everyone who was mean to her. every week after i vote for amit and prashant i vote for anki, cos poor girl she deserves it. when she got eliminated and came back in the wild card didn't she do different performances. true her range is not that spread out but still all these so called trained singers sometimes can't reach a high octave when they are nervous. atleast she's trying her best and i think she will go far.
