Part 8

"Run Rishabh... Go away fast... Just go away"

RK woke up with a jerk. Again that dream had haunted him. He looked around taking deep breaths. Those green walls as if assured him that everything was fine.

But why was he here? He had changed his house. How he reached here. He was with Madhu last night.. Has somebody come to know about his real identity.

He cautiously kept his feet on the ground and got up the bed. Suddenly he heard a gasp from one side. He turned his head to see Madhhu standing on the door. She ran to him.

"Dont get up.. Just sit... Sit..." she said as she made him sit back on the bed.

"Madhu... you here?" He asked her confused.

"Yes... your friend got us here... now I know about you..." she said winking at him.

RK was filled with fear. All his insecurities came crashing on him. What if Madhu decides to leave him after learning who he is.

"Which friend... and how he got to us? And what did he tell you?" RK shooted all his questions at her.

"One question at a time... Well you fell.unconscious and i didnt know whatt to do... so i just checked your cellphone and found Sullu's number... By the name saved on your phone I assumed that he must be your friend and I called him up."

"Sultan... he got us here?" RK aksed even more confused. How cann Sultan do such a mistake.

"Yeah... that Call-me-Sultan" Madhu imitated him.

"Wait.. you called him Sullu..." RK asked getting side tracked.

"Of course.. that was what was saved on your phone right..." Madhu send defending herself.

RK laughed heartily imagining the all so hunk Sultan being called Sullu by a girl. He must have felt his machoness going down the drains.

"Poor sultan..." he said while laughing.

Madhu looked at him frowning with her hands tied in front.

"Whats with the name, you creeps..." she said offended.

"Okay so he got us here.." RK said trying to cool himself down

"Yes" Madhu said now displeased.

"But Rishu..." she whispered leaning towards him as if telling a secret. RK too leaned towards her. "If you dont mind, I would say your friend is not that good.."

"Oh really and why do you feel.that?" He asked while biting his lip from laughing.

"I called him and he came in just 10 minutes. I asked him how he got so fast and he told that his house was nearby and when I said to him to take you to his house insted of yours, he refused.." she said not believing herself.

"And when i insisted a bit he left us in this God forsaken place..." she said angrily.

"Ohhh so you must have gotten behind him... thatsy he got us here.." RK said more to himself.

"I just said Once..." Madhu defended herself.

"Once?" RK asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Okay a little more than once..." she agreed disheartened. "But either ways he didnt take you to his place.. what kind of a friend is he..."

"He is not my friend" RK said softly seeing her dramatic reaction.

"Then?" Madhu asked curiously.

" He is my..." RK somehow couldnt get himself to say enemy, though they were, as in their society. "A friend..." RK said thoughtfully to himself.

"What kind of friends are you both.." Madhu exclaimed not believing herself. "One cant take his sick friend to his house... other doesnt know whether he is a friend or not.." she said as she went out of the room

RK looked at her smiling. She was so pure and untouched from the worldly vices. She couldnt understand the complications of the world. The more he spent time with her, the more he wanted to be her.

After some time RK came out after freshening. He saw Madhu beating egg at his kitchen counter.

"Hey where did you get that from?" RK asked dreading that she might have gone out and would know his reality.

"Sullu sent these..." she said casually. "Looks like he is not that bad after all..." she said looking up at him teasingly.

RK chuckled. "What did he tell you about this place?" He asked.

"Not much... just that you used to live here in your struggling days after returning from London and all..." she said casually still concentrating on egg.

"Ohhh..." RK felt relaxed

"Should there be something else I should know?" She asked looking up at him seriously.

Suddenly RK felt a fear gripping his heart. Does she know? Should he tell her?

"What happened... I was joking..." she said bursting into laughter.

RK relaxed seeing her laugh. He gave her a smile which didnt even reach his eyes.

"Madhu... would you mind if I go out for some time. It would take half an hour." He asked her.

"Going to meet Sullu?" She asked naughtily.

"Yeah... going to meet Sullu..." he said laughing at her.

"No problem... go. By the time i would prepare breakfast... but be fast.." she ordered him.

Sultan was working with his guns, cleaning and admiring them peacefully when suddenly RK barged into his hiding place.

Sultan looked up with a jerk at the sudden intrusion and visibly relaxed seeing it was RK.

"its you... I had thought at least now you would have learned some manners." Sultan said exasperated.

"No personal offence this time.. this was for my own satisfaction.. its only here that i can be myself." He said chuckling as he came to sit on the chair beside him. He held the chair in one hand and sat on it cross legged.

Sultan laughed hearing him. "Why do you want to be this...? You have a got a life.. a job.. aannd a GIRL..." Sultan said stretching the last part.

RK chuckled at that. "Madhu told you helped..." he said trying to avert the topic.

"Yeah... No need to thank.." Sultan said boastfully.

"Thank? I wasnt thanking you... not at all..." RK said makng a face.

Sultan frowned hearing him. "What heppened to you? Why you fainted?" Sultan asked worriedly.

"I dont know what happened... we were fine.. and just walking along but then everything blacked out" RK said thinking to himself too.

"Did you eat something wrong?" Sultan asked to which RK shook his head in a negative.

" Drugs?" Sultan sad raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah yeah sure... cut the crap.." RK said iritated by the stupid question.

"Then what?.." Sultan said exasperated.

"We just drank nariyal pani beacuse Madhu insisted... thats it.." he said shrugging.

"Hmmm..." Sultan said confused. "So you were on a date yesterday..." Sultan said teasingly getting side tracked.

"Kind of..." RK said trying to act casual.

" And you know somebody used to point me..." Sultan said sarcastically.

RK rolled his eyes hearing him.. "You shouldnt have brought her here..." RK said getting serious.

"What else could I have done.? She wasnt ready to leave you and neither she was ready to go to your flat. She was bent on getting you to my place. Now you say could I have brought her here?" He asked him.

RK looked at him and nodded his head. Madhu couldnt be brought to this place full of men whom he would never want her to face. She was pure, not knowing the worst of the world and he wanted to her to stay that.

"She is a bit stubborn..." he said nodding his head as he understood Sultan's situation.

"Stubborn?! Man she is annoying" he said dramatically.

RK suddenly looked at him with a clenched face and furious eyes, challenging him to say more and then face the consequences.

"Okayyy... I understand... Take that look back.." Sultan said in a defensive tone. "You seem to be quite important to her... Rishu haan?" He continued.

RK couldnt help but smile at him hearing that.

"She was crying.." Sultan said in serious tone.

RK suddenly looked up at him again with a serious face.

"She was?" He asked.

" Yes. She was crying for you.." Sultan said as he rested his back on the chair.

RK took in a deep breath. He felt a tranquility. Madhu crying for him. He never had someone who would cry for him, never in his life. In all these years he had seen life's most difficult situations, faced death and defeated it, been in risky situations, had accidents but never had he had anyone who would worry for him or even care. For the first time he felt that somebody cares for him.

"What are you thinking?" Sultan asked.

"Nothing, I am thinking should I let her be this way or should I stay away from her. Facing death has been my proffession, Wont it be injustice to her that I bring her in this world.?" He said lost deep in thoughts.

"Thats your decision RK... but you have to remember your immediate goal. You went there to get Kapoor and Bhatia. You cant waver now..." Sultan warned him.

"Bhatia is my first priority Sultan. More than what you have for Kapoor. And you know that. Whatever comes in my life would come after I finish him off.." he said angrily. "And Yes.. I came to tell you that Kapoor is ready to call Bhatia to India now."

"Thats great..." Sultan said sensing the seriousness in his tone.

"It might be possible the other way round.. like Kapoor might go to Austria.. but if that happens I will go there too.."

"Hmmm... But remember you have to get me access to Kapoors after that... you cant get away after killing Bhatia.." Sultan said to him seriously.

"Of course... You know i am true to my word.." RK said.

"Yes.. I am waiting only so that you can get to Bhatia.."

"Yeah I know that..."

"By the way she is sweet.. only if she stops calling me Sullu..." he said trying to change the topic.

"She is still calling you that.." RK said chuckling.

"Really... how many times I had corrected her... why did you save my number by that name..?" Sultan said exasperated.

"That was your name..." RK said defensively.

"That was years ago man..." Sultan said.

"Not for me..." RK said in a serious tone not even realising that he said that.

Sultan suddenly looked at him seriously. A lot of emotions started filling him up being reminded of that long lost friendship they had. He couldnt just come up with a smile while RK too averted his gaze.

"Anyways... I will go now... Madhu is waiting for me... she was cooking breakfast.. She wont eat unless I am there.." RK said getting up.

"Oh man! You sound like married!" Sultan said not believing his ears.

"Really?" RK asked with a smile and a hopeful expression in his eyes.

"And I am noticing that you have started to smile too much... I dont remember when you had last smiled and now look at you.. you are all smiles and laughs" Sultan said exasperated.

"Nothing like that" RK said as he controlled his smile again.

"Its no use..." Sultan said seeing him hardening his face to stop that smile.

RK turned to go away, he turned back after a few seconds.

" By the way Trishna was asking about you..." he said.

"What? What did you say?" He asked suddenly worried.

"I told her that you are here today.." RK said shrugging.

"No... Dont you know she gets stuck like a leech." Sultan said dramatically.

"I know.." RK said as he walked off casually.

Sultan looked at him baffled for a few seconds but then a smile broke on his face..
