Are Mohd Rafi & Talat ko bhi due credits do bhai.

😆😆😆 Good one Joypaul ji.

I consider both Talat Saab and Rafi Saab as legends.😳

For me Khayyam Saab too is a legend... some of his compositions are really great.

ID also holds legendary status for me - I cant get his albela sajan aayo re from HDDCS, and just love Jhhoka hawa ka aaj bhi out of my mind.... there are some other songs too from the film Devdas and HDDCS of his which I thoroughly enjoy.... and I think I am going to remember these songs for a long time to come.

Each one has a own set of legends based on their liking. Each one also has their own music preference . Just because someone does not agree to mine or I dont agree to someones taste does not make him or me any less or more a music lover.

All old is gold and all new has mould, this generalization is wrong. Its the generation that rules the choice of songs. Today for some of us, the golden era musicians are the legends because we thoroughly enjoy their songs. Tomorrow, may be for some today's musicians will be legends coz they enjoy those songs.

I enjoy masti ki pathshala as much as I enjoy eeina meina deeka....Jiya dhadak jaaye is one song i really like of the current times, same with Piyu bole or Ya Ali, or some of the Tum bin songs, pal pal pal.....so does that give me a failing grade as a music lover....? 😆

So lets leave the choice to personal taste. Democracy allows a "right to choose". New or old, why bother... music never had any boundaries.... if you enjoy it just play it on,....

Jeez .. this is still continuing !!! Just as Himmy Mia is renowned (has his share of fans and non-fans) so is Narendra Modi. Shiv Sena and the rest ..... Similarly all of the mentioned above have their share of fans and fanatics ... doesn't that qualify for being celebrated and renowned ??

Anyway, lets end it here ... let me stick with my opinion of Khayyam Saab being a legend and if you disagree with the same, it's just your loss ...

😉 😉

lol. thanks again for the personal citations here. dont know if you cared to read those bill of rights yourself 😉😆

btw, hadn't you earlier finished saying that "As for absolute truths - nothing that isn't proven scientifically beyond doubt is absolute. Subjective opinions are definitely not absolute."😆 now now, arent you making an absolute statement here? is this statement "proven beyond scientific doubt"? cant be contradicting oneself😉

seriously, with your latest, you are expanding the realm of scientific proofs to include common sense kind of precepts. for starters, that's a loose definition of what constitutes scientific proofs. you are stretching it now to bail out of the fact that very few things, including common sense things like theory of gravity, can be proven to be scientifically correct. i mean we think we know what would happen if you jumped out of a building, but we cant prove it unless you try it for yourself, can we?😉😆

in any case, it's good that you moved on to a more expansive understanding of absolute truths. it's what i was saying with my examples. and what you were rejecting. we surely do not need science to tell us that if there are no absolute standards, no absolute truth and all things are relative and personal opinion, then killing everybody would be just as right as not killing everybody? or do we?😛

as for the walmart example, dont know why you chose to disagree in the first place. your latest pronouncements on the matter are what i started off saying- walmart cant be considered a legend in terms of creating hi-end products, only in the sense of having a formidable business strategy. so were you disagreeing with yourself earlier?😛

oh, and i think this detour was needed to clear up the confusion about personal opinions. else we'd need to run around gathering scientific facts everytime just because someone wishes to be disagreeable or because his mommy told him so.😉😆

That's a cool punchline, CB ... it had me in splits ....

Okay sorry, I lost you somewhere in the middle of that long rant. Don't have the energy to start reading again or respond.

So I guess you win. 👏

Happy now? 😊

This thread would have been a nice and clean one if people with no idea about Khayyam's work had not butted in to give their ignorant comments. Some commented that he had only scored for 7 films, some that he was not a legend. There was some ridiculous talk about whether he had won any awards or not and there was comparison between him and ID and others.

If only the people with appreciation for music and poetry had been discussing on this thread, there would have been a lot of positive energy. As Khayyam said himself, he was lucky to have worked with the best lyricists and singers, who created an atmosphere of excellence.

Listen Dolly, you also lashed out against me in a distasteful manner in this very thread. So, please don't try to brush things under the carpet by telling me to move to another thread. You think discussions start at someone's whims and fancies?

This thread had some great interviews of Khayyam and there were some knowledgeable people like Salilji, Skudji and others who gave valuable information. Are you moving those bits to the other thread?

This thread is now taking some other turns and not the actual discussion which was to take place is being taken.. We had already asked you not to get personal and also trashed few of the posts.. But that doesnt seem to have worked and still the personal remarks seem to be taking the front foot.. Thus, the Dev Team decides to close this topic here.. You have any queries, you can PM the dev team members..

Topic Closed..

I think the purpose of this thread is over now. 😊 Things are now getting too personal.

My request/advise to all.

If u see anyone posting ignorant comments please provide them the valid knowledge. let them know the actual facts and not get into personal attacks.

If on the other hand u see someone making personal attack instead of attacking that member in the topic itself please get in touch with the dev team or use report button.

Charging each other this way in order to find who was at wrong does not help. it worsens the matters more. 😕 So please its a request from the dev team. We hav some really nice debators with sound musical knowledge among us.So instead of getting personal why not stick to the subject in discussion. That will help many other in gaining more knowledge. 😊
