Nope I'm not mixing anything ... when I refer to the absolute truth I talk of Khayyam's compositions and his immortality that has allowed him to remain in the public memory ... that's why he is a legend ...
I'm not even sure you're getting me ... Just to make my point clear - Even if Gandhiji wasn't declared the father of the nation he would still be a legend, Rabindranath Tagore is a legend on account of his accomplishments not for his nobel prize ... so on and so forth. Most of the titles, awards and dedications are not decided by the public but are imposed .... the accomplishments of these legends speak for themselves after they have left the scene ... the immortality of their work establishes them as legends ....
Let's rest in peace - Khayyam Saab is a legend for his legendary compositions and you may not like Khayyam Saab's music and I stand by it ...

Awesome poetry with soulful melodious compositions .... what more can one ask for in any kind of music ?

Legend n. an extremely well known, famous, celebrated, renowned person - This definition even makes Rakhi Sawant, Narendra Modi, Shiv Sena, Shilpa Shetty and every other Bollywood star a legend as well ... they're well known, famous and have their own fan following as well whether it be front benchers or bench warmers ....

Now should I post the definitions for celebrated and renowned as well? Yaar itna to khud samajh liya karo. If you still don't know the meanings of those words, then I'll be happy to post them for you. After that, you wouldn't mention all these people you have.

Walmart is legendary, yes. Not because they sell great products or sell them at low prices. But because they have been around for longer than any other similar chain, and they are still going strong. And, to follow the dictionary meaning, it's a very famous and renowned chain.
lol. are you saying you consider their product to be of legendary value? arent we confusing good business strategy with good product now?đ
I think you're confused now. I have never called their product legendary. I even clarified I'm not talking about their product. I'm talking about the brand that is Walmart - something that is borne out by the fact that it is a Fortune 500 company worth $100 billion. If you still don't understand, let's just leave it here. I don't want to waste my time arguing about Walmart.
As for absolute truths - nothing that isn't proven scientifically beyond doubt is absolute. Subjective opinions are definitely not absolute.
just an example to show why you are wrong. "killing is wrong" is considered in an absolute sense. it's not subject to personal opinions. yet it's nothing we can test out in a lab, can we?đđ
Killing is not absolutely wrong. Depends on what you are killing. Majority of people don't find killing animals wrong, but PETA does. Death-penalty opponents feel killing murderers is wrong, but laws still allow it. Killing for self-defense is not wrong, according to laws. In the end, it's laws that define whether something is wrong or not - and yes, they are subjective. The only absolute laws are those based on theology (although people even find reason to doubt those).
It's unfortunate how people only equate scienctific evidence with lab testing. Science is a study of the world and everything around you - and not just restricted to labs and white coats. That you are your mother's son is evident when she gives bith to you - you don't need to carry out a DNA test to be absolutely sure. (By 'you' I don't mean you in particular - it's just a pattern of speech).
oh, and for the kid who flunks on his essay, sure that's his teacher's subjective opinion, isnt it? but for the kid that's an absolute realityđ

I've had enough of this debate. I know you will want the last word as always, and I don't care - you can have it. I don't need to speak loudest or longest or last in order to know I've made my point.
