Narayan…Narayan…Narayan - these are not the lines mouthed by Narad Muni in an upcoming Bollywood mythological but names of the characters played by Tusshar Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Suneil Shetty in Omkara producer Kumar Mangat's next film, One Two Three. All three of them are shown having the same name in the film – Laxmi Narayan.
The film also stars Upen Patel, Sameera Reddy, Esha Deol and Tanisha, and was launched on Tuesday in a Mumbai studio with Kajol giving the mahurat clap.
Debutante director Ashwin Dheer tells us, "One Two Three, as the unusual title suggests is an out-and-out crazy comedy about how the characters in the film chase their individual dreams."
"The film is set in a chawl," he said, referring to the one-room tenements that dot south Mumbai.
About the three Narayans he states, "Tushhar, Suneil and Paresh Rawal share a name but are different in character. Tushhar is a wannabe bhai, Paresh Rawal is a lingerie salesman and Suneil is a corporate executive with an MBA degree. The plot is a comedy of errors."
After playing a real life gangster in Shootout At Lokhandwala, Tusshar who plays a aspiring gangster in OTT has decided to grow a real moustache for the film on advice of his designer friends Alim Hakim and Manish Malhotra.
About the other lead actors in the film, Dheer adds, "Esha has been cast opposite Tusshar and she plays an aspiring fashion designer who dreams of going to Paris. Upen plays a car salesman and has been paired opposite Tanisha."
The film's music has been scored by Raghav Sachar (Kabul Express). The shooting of the film was commenced with the title song dance sequence and will be later shot on a start to finish schedule in Pondicherry, Delhi and Goa. Mangat is looking forward to wrapping up the shooting by August and has plans to release it by December 2007.
