UK is perhaps the only non-Indian country where the popularity of Indian shows is measured. And ever since the show began, RR has been among the top two shows of Colors as much as I remember. If other countries followed suit, I m quite positive that we would see similar results. RR has maintained it's no. 1 position on IF almost always. That says a great deal too about the popularity of the show given that IF is the online platform for Indian soaps. If Bollywood movies' success is partly measured by their performance in international markets, why not Indian shows? Here we have subscribed for Indian channels and our preference means nothing whatsoever cuz it's those 7000 or so TRP viewers in India who shall decide what we get to watch. I feel cheated.

I live in the UAE and u know in my circle, I don't acknowledge that I watch Indian TV cuz those unfamiliar would imagine that I watch those typical saas-babu shows and that is embarrassing to be blatantly honest cuz it indicates a lot about ur taste. Rangrasiya is the only indian soap that I watch. It has a story. Amazing actors. The poor creative head had to murder his imagination cuz the show didn't do well on the TRP chart... The concept of an army officer falling for his prisoner... Do u see how Shakespearen that sounds to the ear?! Never in the history of Indian shows will you see something so original and full of substance again. So it either has to be a business tycoon falling for a middle-class girl or an ideal bahu from a mediocre background proving herself in an upper middle class family. What's wrong with people?! In this case, I must say that the Pakistani system works so much better... A director makes the entire show and then sells it to a channel which broadcasts the original product as it was meant to be regardless of what the viewers would want to watch...

I am so angry that I am seriously considering giving up on Indian TV altogether.

I'm so tired and angry Sonya 😔
We both know how much we love PaRud and SaNish. I totally forgot everything else, all of Sanaya's jodis, after PaRud came! The chemistry SaNish share, the EPIC EPIC story of PaRud ... it is PERFECTION.

Sanz's onscreen jodi in RR is perfect, and the concept? Brilliant. Even here in America, the concept is bold and exciting. A Othello based tale of a army officer falling for a simple illiterate village girl ... HOW INNOVATIVE IS THAT?

It's a show that explores what Indian TV doesn't explore. It introduced so much.

And yet, people want angry young businessmen and helpless young girls for a story on TV. 🥱

I'm BEYOND frustrated.

And we as a international audience KNOW how popular it is in the States [ YES INDIAN PEOPLE ADORE RR here ], UK [ RR IS ALWAYS ON TOP THERE ALMOST] and Europe, UAE ... etc.

Why must we not be counted? It's not fair. I refuse. It can't happen. 🥱
Did you know it all depends on the TRP of this week? 😔 My god, LET IT RISE! LET IT RISE LIKE THE LAST TWO WEEKS!

It's our only hope

RR is the only show WORTH watching on Indian TV. 😳The rest is the typical Mill-Boons, saas-bahu stuff that apparently wins in India 🥱

Here's hoping Colors has BRAINS and keeps it on air this week because of hopefully a rise in TRP!

Unfortunately we don't count at all. It's the same for American TV though. Even if shows are popular around the world, the American Nielsen ratings determine the fate of a show. Although the American system may consider the online and international popularity more than Indian TV channels, but in the end, it's all about the ratings. The only big difference is that the American system is actually an accurate measurement of viewership, whereas the TRP system is just an embarrassment. Yet the Indian channels use it as a holy grail.

I swear, the international audience has been very loyal towards Rangrasiya! God knows what went wrong in India. I know that I have contributed but at the end of the day - it counts for nothing because my tv set is in the lounge of a UK home and not in India!

Seriously, every time I come back to the forum after a mini break, bad news awaits me. I came back to find Paro dead and the second time it's the news of RR's possible end. I can't take it anymore!!!!

I totally feel you sis.
I live in the UK but I know my vote don't count at all and is not considered one bit for CVs. And that is fact. I've stopped watching RR all together and am just reading WU instead. Because there is no point at all.

In fact since the #suchislife you can totally tell the CV's view for indian viewers are not very high which is so stupid when we are the viewers that they need for the show to continue.

All I know is that I'll be avoiding to watch another Colors show or another show controlled by #suchislife and ST, after RR.
