I prefer the kind of soaps they had before Ekta's time. They were realistic, they were planned out in advance, they were meaningful and they had good actors. They made you sit up and think. So, yeah, I prefer Smriti's style. 😃

Wow. You took the words right out of my mouth. I prefer Smriti's style of realistic drama as opposed to Ekta's meaningless, melodramatic glamourised style.

When you get a rival you will get a challenge and Ekta had got that specially by kicking Smriti out of KSBKBT. Now she will put her head and efforts towards improving the weakness of her shows. Otherwise she has to face the downfall.

well i think smriti's shows are better these days than ekta.But in the begining, ekta had wonderful shows such as hum panch, koshish ek asha, kanyadaan and ithihaas. After having success from these shows now she is concentrating on trp's only. So lets see for how long smriti keep up her charm.

i don't know anything about the other show you mention, but i did find out about the technicality of entertainment. so, i'll share a bit of technicality here:

production is actually about financing a show/film. a lot of the stuff that you point out actually falls in the scriptwriting and direction front. producers get to pick out a story/script, fund the scriptwriter for the dialogues (which is not necessarily in the script at the beginning), fund the director for it, fund the actual production of the show.

directing the rape scene, writing the rape scene should actually be in the domain of the scriptwriter and the director.

is ms. irani also the scriptwriter for the show? if she were smart - and she seems to be so - she'd stick with what she does best. which is either acting (i think she does a really good job) or production. given that she is relatively new, i think it's going to take time to prove that she's a good producer. that'll happen if her shows do make money, and she gets to make more shows. or other people give her money when she wants to make shows.

short answer? it's difficult to tell that she's a good producer yet.

smriti is better, I am watching both her shows regularly and she is far better than balaji. Not only the scenes are handled properly but also that the stories are not stretched like rubber, there is no hammer beating sounds, no 3-3 times repeated sentences and no 3 times close camera focus on all faces

Smriti is definitely a far more better producer than Ekta.Ekta started off from saas bahu sagas N still stuck 2 it even after seven years.But this is not the case with Smriti.Both her shows are entirely different from each other.She will surely become a trend setter in this telly industry.She is professionally very mature.

Smriti.Now a days I don't like any Ekta's show.I have stopped watching Kyunki,Kasam se,kzk and keyamath.I am watching kggk only for Shakshi.Ekta's all show's story are same.
1.Hero rich and heroine middleclass.(all serials)
2.2/3 marrige in any age.If you are grandfather or mother you can marry.Anuraag,Prerna,Kashish,Sujal.Karan,Gautam,Sahil,Mr.Baj aj,Kamal,Gaurav.Rishi)
3.Plastic surgery.(Anuraag,Mandira,Tulsi,Kesar)
4.Hero ann heroine never get marriage easily.First they marriage other person.{Anuraag-Prerna,Kashish-Sujal,Now Neev-Prachi and Kasturi-Ravi(I hope so)}
5.Hero/heroine go to jail or asylum then come back to take revange.(Parvati,Bani).
Smriti's show is much much better than EKta's Show.My fav show is TSZTSA.It's like real drama,Excellent acting.
