What happened to Payal ??

Hello 😊 I didn't watch the show from begining...so a bit confused . How did Payal become mental ? 😕 I know about the gang rape Shaurya & his friends did with her 🥱 But that alone didn't make her mad ? In the flashback of the court scenes Payal looked & talked pretty normally . Till then she was ok I guess . What happened to her after that which made her lose mental balance ?
