Authenticity and Rangrasiya

For an individual who doesn't live in India, but is very much a part of the culture and religion, one of the first things that attracted me to Rangrasiya was the rural setting, the Rajasthani tradition, the language, the clothes, the culture and the authenticity. It drew me in as much as Rudra and Paro did, I loved that rustic feel to the show...the beauty of India.
...And that right there is what's missing along with Paro from Rangrasiya 2.0, and that is something that bothers me more than I'd like it to. There is no sense or feeling of that essence in this revised version and maybe it's meant to be that way, to make the loss easier (a loss that never should have been). Part two of Rangrasiya could have LITERALLY been a completely new show, just with the same actors, the only connection I feel that's left to the original is Dhruv (and Rudra...for now) and as adorable as he is, in my opinion he's there to serve as a plot device and add an emotional quotient maybe just so he can play cupid and bring Rudra and Myrah together...you know how we all asked...why a baby now? well I think this was the reason (but hey that's just my opinion).

But anyways going back to what I was saying...I fell in love with that very essence, it was always there, it set the tone, the mood and the feel of the show and it helped bring these very authentic and subtly complex characters to life, when I watch a show, for me it's not just about pretty faces or actors but about the overall tone that's set and Rangrasiya had something about it that drew me in, despite it's flaws, it was still poignant, beautiful, and at times felt like poetry to me, some scenes, some dialogues they moved me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that...I know it's probably to early to say this but...Rangrasiya 2.0 feels empty to me...lacking in some way (and I know some might say wait for them to establish it a bit), but this is just my opinion and even if I grow to like this version at some point, I feel to me it's always going to be lacking something...not only Paro but just that underlying essence...that essence isn't something I can describe in words, I just used to feel it when I watched Rangrasiya, it was always there, even during the duller eps. Along with Rudra and Paro it was the one constant...the very reason I fell in love with it in the first place!

Just my opinion, not meant to offend or be negative...it's just the way I feel!

I agree with you. Rangrasiya's essence is totally gone. It's now become just your average soap you see on TV. Nothing will stand out, not the sets, the characters, the dialogues. It'll just be run of the mill, typical and cliche things we see all the time.

You never know, Myrah might (and most probably will) turn into another Paro in a few episodes! When she gets to know about Rudra's past and see's Paro's, pic, she might undergo a make-over and look like her! Something like in the film Lamhe, where the younger Sridevi dons on traditional clothes and jewels when she mistakes her mother's pic to be her lover's imagination of how she should look!
Even I love watching Rajasthani culture...there is some magical quality about it...the valour of the people, the clothes, the jewels, the language...everything is perfect! And shows with a Rajasthani theme have done exceptionally well on television. Color's own Balika Vadhu being the biggest example and currently the top two shows of television, DABH and YRKKH are both stories based in different cities of Rajasthan!

I agree, that's very likely a possibility, and also very unfair to the the Paro fans, you kill her and then bring in a look alike who's meant to be the complete opposite but later just ends up turning into Paro 2.0 what's the point? Where's the originality? But never the less I shouldn't have expected much from a channel and producer who have bad track records with potentially good shows.

And in the end it just becomes a cheap rip off version

Completely agree with u...besides Sanaya my very first reason to loved the show was only that Rajisthani look and clothes even language...i still miss the feeling of watching those initial episodes which which were being shooted in Rajisthan...i so loved it..because RR was truly based on that Rajisthani culture, i so loved to see Paro in lehnga choli...and amazed to see speak her in so cute Rajisthani accent, manne nai jana, athey ao...etc etc...
now they totally changed the whole concept in so sudden..im terribly miss paro and i love to see Sanaya in Paro's look...i so wish later Myrah will also turn out to be like Paro's look..then i will be again happy happy

If I may be so brazen, I think the empty but light feeling was intentional. They are trying to shot for a simple story and I think they have struck gold in that sense. Anyone who watching henceforth, in my assumption, will be watching just for the story-free aspect of the show. (I too am missing some of that wholesome charm of the previous rendition.)

The simplicity might very well be intentional. Grand sets, elaborate costumes and lots of supporting actors cost money...if the show is in doldrums of any kind, the first thing that the PH will do is cut down the overhead costs, so that they recover as much money possible from the channel on the show. For that, the most obvious thing to do is simplify the story and characters, so that all the expenses associated with them also comes down.
That might explain why they have bumped off Rudra's parents without any rhyme or reason!

Indeed the authenticity of the show is lost, the originality and charm is nowhere to be seen now...they killed the uniqueness of the show, but will still watch it though... not sure if i will enjoy it like before 😭
