For an individual who doesn't live in India, but is very much a part of the culture and religion, one of the first things that attracted me to Rangrasiya was the rural setting, the Rajasthani tradition, the language, the clothes, the culture and the authenticity. It drew me in as much as Rudra and Paro did, I loved that rustic feel to the show...the beauty of India.
...And that right there is what's missing along with Paro from Rangrasiya 2.0, and that is something that bothers me more than I'd like it to. There is no sense or feeling of that essence in this revised version and maybe it's meant to be that way, to make the loss easier (a loss that never should have been). Part two of Rangrasiya could have LITERALLY been a completely new show, just with the same actors, the only connection I feel that's left to the original is Dhruv (and Rudra...for now) and as adorable as he is, in my opinion he's there to serve as a plot device and add an emotional quotient maybe just so he can play cupid and bring Rudra and Myrah together...you know how we all asked...why a baby now? well I think this was the reason (but hey that's just my opinion).
But anyways going back to what I was saying...I fell in love with that very essence, it was always there, it set the tone, the mood and the feel of the show and it helped bring these very authentic and subtly complex characters to life, when I watch a show, for me it's not just about pretty faces or actors but about the overall tone that's set and Rangrasiya had something about it that drew me in, despite it's flaws, it was still poignant, beautiful, and at times felt like poetry to me, some scenes, some dialogues they moved me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that...I know it's probably to early to say this but...Rangrasiya 2.0 feels empty to me...lacking in some way (and I know some might say wait for them to establish it a bit), but this is just my opinion and even if I grow to like this version at some point, I feel to me it's always going to be lacking something...not only Paro but just that underlying essence...that essence isn't something I can describe in words, I just used to feel it when I watched Rangrasiya, it was always there, even during the duller eps. Along with Rudra and Paro it was the one constant...the very reason I fell in love with it in the first place!
