I think zgh was an absolute stroke of luck. he couldn't have asked for anything else that would have created such A buzz. and the best part - it wasn't even planned or PR managed. so he gets the buzz but he doesn't get over exposed like our TV stars who ppl don't want to watch on big screen bec they see them everyday.

We should just not worry abt Fawad, If not bollywood there is Paki shows and films. He will always keep entertaining us with his talent :) :*

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan says he's honoured to have worked with the Kapoor family in his Bollywood debut film Khoobsurat.

Fawad Afzal Khan, one of the most sought after Pakistani singer-actor, has drawn flak back home for his decision to enter Bollywood. But he is unperturbed and says art is something that travels across all borders.

He is making his debut with "Khoobsurat", a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1980 hit of the same name, opposite Sonam Kapoor. But even before the film's release, Fawad Khan has earned a huge fan following, thanks to his show "Zindagi Gulzar Hai", which was aired on Zindagi channel.

When asked about his reaction on the criticism, he said: "The people you are talking about are very few. There will be people who will criticise. They are entitled to their opinion. Even if someone from India goes to work there, someone or the other will make noise."

"Art is something that travels across all borders. Art knows no culture and creed. As an actor, I would like to explore myself. I do feel bad, but I choose to ignore criticism. I think to pay attention to it is unnecessary," he told reporters Monday at the trailer launch of "Khoobsuat" here.

Charming as ever, he wowed everyone when he sang the title song of his show "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" at the event.

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, "Khoobsurat" has been produced by Sonam's dad Anil Kapoor and sister Rhea under the banner Anil Kapoor's Film Company Pvt. Ltd. For Fawad, it's an honour to collaborate with the Kapoors for his Bollywood debut.

He said: "I think it's a very big honour for me to work with the family. When I met these people, I found them very interesting. Most of all, the way I was treated and welcomed was very kind and warm."

"So all in all, this has been a very interesting episode in my life. I had a lot of fun. There was a lot of love and warmth."

Fawad Khan praised Sonam Kapoor for being "a very accommodating, very warm, and very welcoming person".

"I took time for settling in the new environment, but the entire team, the production... everyone made sure to make me feel comfortable."

Releasing Sep 19, the film sees Ratna Pathak stepping into the shoes of her mother Dina Pathak who is still remembered for playing a disciplinarian and strict mother in the original.

Zyada se zyada kya ho sakta hain? The film will be a disaster and FK will be panned by critics and audiences. But he still will have his fanbase in Pakistan. Fanbases dont disappear due to 1-2 bad projects...otherwise his would have disappeared after Numm. He can always go back to his own YRF/Dharma ie Hum TV drama in a romantic roles and set things right.

Ali Zafar doesnt really have the personality to play lead romantic roles. He is sorta like Ritesh...good in comic or supporting roles. Thats why probably he is getting only those despite a decent debut and getting noticed by YRF.

FK's personality is different and he'd probably not do as well as Ali in comic roles. So if he gets more projects he will probably get roles that suit his personality. What really bothers me atm is his hairstyle. The promotions have started and that hairstyle doesnt suit him. Looks like a ball is hidden in his head. 😆

As I said, I do hope the film works..I think some of us were a little surprised seeing him in the trailer like this for many reasons...but then again, it is just a trailer. I think all of his admirers do wish Fawad the best with whatever endeavors he takes up. ..being an ardent fan should also allow some criticism especially when you've been following someone for so long. I feel that also comes with the terrority of being a fan. Oh and definitely, the hair is a little off..not just that..he lost so much weight. I think he should gain some back, especially on his face.

I do agree with Ali Zafar not having a personality to play lead roles. He was never an actor anyway..and Ali sucks at comedy too in my opinion. Fawad's comedy timing is awesome. He's actually the very few Pakistani leading actors that have amazing comic timing, in my opinion. I think Rhea mentioned during the launch how Vikram's character also required someone to portray his subtle sense of humor..and Fawad has that in him, which is true.

I can't wait for the film. I have seen the trailer 39563253 times. Watched the live chat 3949254 times. Watched the teaser 394573549348974346 times.

Sonam Kapoor says she can't match up to Rekha's inimitable act in the modern remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's film Khoobsurat.

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who has stepped into Rekha's shoes for the "Khubsoorat" remake, says she is not even a patch on the senior actress who is still remembered for effortlessly playing the chirpy and carefree girl in the original.

In the remake, Sonam will be seen romancing Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan when it releases Sep 19.

"I don't think I can do justice to anything Rekha has done," said Sonam and added that for her it was more important to be part of a film that has some meaning and message.

"These days very few films means something, have great values and at the same time they are lots of fun. "Those kind of films Rajkumar Hirani is making these days and 'Khoobsurat' is one of the other one, which I am part of," said the 29-year-old.

Good cinema doesn't have to be dark or depressing.

"I don't think good film is something that is dark or dying one, I think it can be light also. We are going through too much in India and cinema has always been my happy space and this is my ode to Hrishikesh Mukherjee," said Sonam Kapoor.

Have you shown the trailer to Rekha?

"Rekha is very close to my family. She had even seen 'Aisha' and we had kept a separate trailer launch for her. For this film too, we are going to show her the trailer.
