IF you are expecting an innovative and pulse-racing theme, perish the thought, Kasam Monday to Friday 12.30 p.m. on Doordarshan is a mindless tale of three Rs " rape, revenge and retribution.

It's about Priyanka and her revenge against the Sharma family. At 15, she has seen her elder sister being raped by a man of the Sharma family. The sister dies of trauma but with it comes alive a fierce fire within Priyanka to avenge her death.

Ten years later, Priyanka marries one of the Sharma sons with the sole purpose of destroying the family. Her gameplan " to gain trust and slowly lead them to the path of complete devastation.

It is hard to believe that such a regressive theme has emerged from the stable of Shobha and Ekta Kapoor, the duo which gave viewers a rollicking comedy like Hum Panch.
