It was in a crowded restaurant ...over a cup of coffee when he first asked her ... WILL U BE MY HERO ... guised under the heading ... " SIRF RUHI KE LIYE"
It was in a crowded dance floor ... with a hand extended he once again asked her ... WILL U BE MY HERO ... guised under the heading ... DO NOT ABANDON the MARRIAGE & MY CHILD
It was in a secluded room in a dentists office ... with a devastated countenance once again he asked her ... WILL U BE MY HERO ... guised under the heading ... SAVE MY WAYWARD CHILD
This forum has been wrought with negativity ... bash posts on RKB seem to be the call of the hour ... Now here i would like to ask just a simple question ... RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA ... was a FLAWED MAN ... a FLAWED HERO ... a man with weaknesses .. a man with bitterness .. a man with a huge chip on the shoulder .. a man wrought with insecurities ... SO when the writers of the show continue on the same vain why is it that this forum screams ... DID WE ALL NOT FALL IN LOVE WITH THE FLAWED MAN ... at no point in this serial was the HERO SHOWN AS LESS THAN A FLAW ... even when he got MIhir engaged to Mihika .. it was wrought with tension ...
So lets take a step back in time & recollect that iconic "punjabi" speech that Ishita gave about her husband ... " RAMAN KA KAAM KARNE KA STYLE SAB NU WARGA HAI " ... Ishita recognises her man as a flawed individual ... she knows he is a broken man ...but she is a broken woman 2 ... & only when the 2 broken pieces will connect they will form the WHOLE ...
As a parent when ur child is hurt ... ur first instinct is to give solace .. then to cover the wound & give comfort ... its only when the wound starts to heal do u realise & concentrate on the CAUSE ... & then work on obliterating the same ... thats the path the writers took to speak a tale ... well there were mistakes ... there were points which were unpalatable .. but all in all ... Alls well that ENDS WELL ...
Now that i have got that off my chest .. let me go back to my topic ...
WILL U BE MY HERO ...
Above i listed out the 3 main instances when Raman cried for help ... or rather asked Ishita to be his hero ... & she came through all the 3 times ... no matter what the cost to her ...
I have read a lot of posts saying that LOVE has not happened for these 2 ... but my very first post was HO GAYI HAI MOHABBATEIN ... these 2 are in love ... i don't think they even know when they fell in love with the other ... was it when Ishita realised that Raman was marrying her for RUHI ... was it when Raman realised that Ishita was marrying him for RUHI ... wasn't that the ultimate sacrifice for 2 people ... at that moment both realised the depth of love the OTHER IS CAPABLE of ... ... is it any wonder that the 2 will want to see a reflection of that love for them in the others eye ...
One scene in YHM which has tickled me from day 1 was ... Raman hugging Ishita to show RUhi ... A ruhi who was 3 stories up in the house .. while of course she could see the HUG ... but how could she hear the whisper of I LOVE YOU ISHITA ...
Similarly ... when Ishita hugs Raman back ... her I DONT LOVE YOU ... was the cry of a woman who was wrapped in love ... a love which was desperately looking for an outlet ...
In tonites episode ... on that window sill with the back drop of rains ... they both expressed a desire for "DIL KI BAAT" ... both did not speak about TRUST .. or TRUTH .. they wished for "DIL KI BAAT" ...
Now lets connect the dots ... its was a rainy stormy night when Raman hugged her & actually said I LOVE YOU ... a i love you which was unbelievable ...
It was in a party ... when they both acknowledged that BIJLI TO GIR GAYI HAI ... BAS BAARISH AANE KI DER HAI " ( the lighting has struck .. its just a wait for the rain) ... acknowledging .. that they have been struck by the bolt of LOVE ... the only wait is for the PASSION TO OVERFLOW .. so that they may acknowledge the same ...
I have often times written that i have yet to come across writing that has been so superior in a love story on Indian Telly ... brilliantly rounded .. brilliantly well scripted ... connect the dots & each time u are left gasping with the sheer bliss of the written word which is YHM ... A bow down to the writer ...
It was a brilliant script tonite on YHM ..
Tonites absolutely delicious scene between husband & wife .. where the words which were not spoken had FAR GREATER MEANING THAN THE WORDS SPOKEN ... a couple on the brink of a confession ... a couple who is dying to speak out whats in their hearts ... this had nothing to do with the accident ... but the feelings which were boiling inside which needed an outlet ... i loved the way Ishita who is back in the room ... but also back on the sofa ... takes her things & hesitantly walks away ... & I loved the way Raman looks at what he is LOOSING ... the distance which is being forged ... a distance self created ... which he bridges with his inane talk ...
BUT THE REAL MESSAGE OF THIS EPISODE WAS IN THESE 2 SCENES ...At one end .. .there was a PROMISE OF A NEW BEGINNING ... a new life which is going to be born ... Vandita's baby ... Its at this point Ishita once again gets to see the depth of love that raman carries in his heart ... every time her conviction falters ... a glimpse of this MANS HEART is Shown to her ... which gives her the STRENGTH to march ahead ...
On the other end ... Raman whenever he is going towards the WRONG ... he gets a reminder of RIGHT ... surprisingly from his Ex WIFE ... a better cupid we aint seen ... who keeps highlighting the Goodness of Ishita ... she works better than any matrimonial ad IMO 😉 ... here is a WOMAN .. who can PROCREATE ... but has no clue of being a MOTHER ... while the woman standing next to him is the woman unable to PROCREATE ... but a BETTER MOTHER CANNOT BE FOUND
Tonites episode was another landmark episode it was the step towards
BRING ADI BACK HOME ANDOLAN ...
It was a PROMISE OF CONFESSION OF FEELINGS
It was a the day ISHITA became a MOTHER a second time to ... confused ... unlike Vandy who had a sonography to show ... Ishita got her certificate from her husband ... RAMAN BHALLA .. the man who could read SONOGRAPHY ...it took him a moment in that school to read ... HIS CHILD NEEDED A MOTHER ... & the first thought that came to him was ... ISHITA RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA ... HIS HERO ... Now when u look at the VANDY scene with these eyes ... doesnt the brilliance of the SCRIPT WRITER LEAVE U GASPING ...
Well i keep going for my self induced exile from writing ... & these dam writers keep delivering masterpieces which make me come back to write ... WELL I AM NOT COMPLAINING ... GUYS KEEP THEM COMING ...
