Hey Friends

We are back with the Debate of the week.. And this time as support your mentor we have Ismail Darbar..

There is a small change here.. From now on we will not have any registrations and it will be an open debate 😛 So, there are constraints that only those members who have registered can participate.. Now its an open debate for all.. So, all those members who want to support ID can speak for him and all those who do not want to support ID can argue against him..

But There will definitely be a winning side and the best debater awards which will be decided by the appointed judge.. Dont worry, the judge will not take part 😆

Topic For This Week's Debate

Are the comments by Ismail Darbar towards the contestants and the Mahaguru's justified??

The Rules To be Followed
  1. While debating see to it that you do not attack the MD's, contestants and the fellow members
  2. Do not bring in religious sentiments or bias
  3. Profanity is a strict No No
  4. Do not get more personal about the MD or contestant while debating.. Stick to the topic and provide points based on the topic rather than going personal
  5. If we find any member deviating from the above said rules, the member will immediately be disqualified from the team

Since C2007 is still a WIP, maybe we should be basing upon what ID did as mentor in C2005? or do you want to confine the discussion to C2007?

Interesting its open for all and noone is writing😆...... chalo main hi shri ganesha karta hu😆

First I would talk of first part i.e. Remarks towards contestants. He has a bunch of all round performance in this. He has been sweet, sour, rude, critic every taste that u may have tasted in food or not tasted. The nice remarks to the contestants and nice criticisation of the contestants will not be debatable as per my opinion and I would write on it only if someone would like to debate on it. The most debatable part in this would be some of the rude remarks which has been the highlight of this show so far. Especially because the pinch of it is higher than the length of the statement. ex. Khoda pahad aur nikla, kapde utne hi bold hain jitna ki gana, tum koi paan ya vada paav ki dukaan khol do. This definitely makes the bad impression in the eyes of the public, because noone would want oneself to be treated that way. I would say that this comments are justified as it makes the contestants face the reality of Bollywood. Yes the reality of the Bollywood which is featured with such numerous rude behaviours by the Music Directors towards singers, directors towards actors etc. We can see how this people in the Industry behave with the senior colleagues, then what do we expect with a new person in Industry. I dont say its good, but its justified. I will give a reason for this theory from my experience. When I started my articles for CA, I received a lot of bashing from my boss, even if I was nt wrong. This gave me first hand experience of real world and those six months was my learning experience of how should I tackle the real life problems. Similarly this comments gives a little hint to this contestants about what they can face in the Industry. In fact I would say its just a fraction of what they are going to face in real life. So even if the remarks are improper, I would say that they can be justified.

Now turning towards the remarks on mahagurus... Ismail Darbar has just given his point of view regarding the judgements from Mahaguru. He has every right to give his opinion on judgement by mahagurus as he is an important part of the show. The past history of achievements by a person does nt make every judgement of a person as right. they are human as well. At the same time we have to see that Ismail Darbar is human as well, so his judgement that the person should not be eliminated can be wrong. But that should not stop him from giving his opinion. Giving of opinion is always justified as it can remove the misunderstandings if opinions are discussed properly than having ego of noone can be against me😊

So Ismail Darbaar as a mentor: I like him as a mentor, he really strives to improve his contestants, what you would generally see from him is he is very hard on his contestants on stage, but you will see considerable difference in them as "singers". He seems to be explaining the nuances. If you look at his contestants, the choice of songs get steadily difficult, he really tests the boundaries of his contestants

Many for whom the intent is winning, find him unexplainable, but he has his routine. If the contestant is not liked by the judges or public that is fine with him, but the contestants are better prepared than any other mentor's contestants when they hit the market.

As a mentor he is very impartial in comments, if someone sings great, he will walk up and congragulate the singer, there is no agenda that ok, my contestant might get harmed, but again a mentor is supposed to mentor his contestant not cater to their jealousies or insecurities

If I were a contestant on this show, I would certainly want him as a mentor, for my intent would be mentored, in the process if I win, I will be happy or else I will be content with the improvement he brings along in my singing talent

All opinions in this thread only hold valid for this thread

Topi is on Ismail's comments Sareg not Ismail as a mentor😛

Topic is support Ismail Darbar as a mentor, If we want to dissect Ismail Darbaar as a mentor only based upon the comments then we need to know why he disagreed with the mahaguru's(e.g what were the musical reasons that he thought Khayyamsaab or Ashaji was wrong) or why he made comments on the contestants(as to where the contestant made mistakes in singing, etc) Ismail has not publicized that, so we would be making assumptions.

A debate on assumptions is not a debate but idle gossip😉

Ismail Darbar.. what a man.. great mentor...I find him very honest and not manipulative and such people cannot always be politically correct. He speaks from the heart and he means well because he provides constructive criticism. Even the "happening mentor" HR said he considers ID his guru. I have followed his career and loved his music over the last 20 years and word in Bollywood and from Suarat is, he is not a back stabber but stabs you in the face so that there is no he said this and he said that later on. Even last week, he apologized to Khayyam Saheb at the end of the show. It takes a great man to say he is sorry. I eagerly await his next film album with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. His protege have done well from when they first appeared on SRGMP, be it Nihira Joshi, Debojeet or the new kid from Dubai. You can see the polished product like the diamonds cut and polished in Surat. I have seen Nihira Joshi perform in Atlanta at a concert last year and on the same show, there was Himani. When you hear them live on same stage, you can tell the difference.. day and night between the well trained Nihira by ID and Himani trained by Aadesh or HR. Even HR himself did not let Himani and Vinit sing more than one song at the concert in Miami . Thats mentoring? There is no contest as far as mentors are concerned, Ismail Darbar is head and shoulders above the rest. Thanks 👏
