The problem I have with Ankitas lie is that it will negatively affect Pari. Pari was shown as strong but emotionally vulnerable person. Once she discovered about Naren marriage, she respected it and walked away. She said herself many times that she respects that and wouldn't want to deprive anyone of their rights. However Ankita lied in order to get Naren his Ahana aka Pari back at Pari's expense. Ankita wants Naren happy at any cost. Pari has been misled by not just Ankita but Naren as well when he told her the baby is probably Shasanks.

Ankita says she doesn't want to be a burden on Naren and be with him just cuz shes pregnant but then why would Pari want to be with him when he's becoming the father of someone elses child? She said she didn't want to force herself on anyone either. She wants to create a home with the truth also. She doesn't want to be a burden either.

Pari will be the ultimate victim here. Had, Ankita been honest and Pari still married Naren and then suffered then I would say she made her own bed. However, Pari has been misled deliberately for the sake of Naren.

At least thats how I see it.

Hi Soniiyaa:

Yes, i see from what angle you are looking at it and do respect your POV.

But I really don't see how Ankita's statments can negatively impact Pari.

Pari thinks that Anktia's child is not Naren's. That is good. This way she can start a happy life with Naren. There is nothing unethical about it and Ankita certainly does not seem to see Naren-Pari's marriage as anything but the most desirable way to end this web of complications.

As long as Pari and Naren think that Ankita's child is not Naren's, everyone will be happy. Ankita, may be emotional now, but will calm down and will be able to lead a respectful life with her child. May be she will find a good person who will love and respect her.
I really do not see any problem.

And my main point is that the Naren who is now Pari's husband is not really Ankita's child's father who had become so ecstatic on learning about Ankita's possible pregnancy ( I don't clearly remember. But it was something to the line). This Naren simply abhors the idea of having had anything to do with Ankita. Why should it be a problem to accept that the insane but sweet Naren who loved Ankita as Ahana no longer exists and therefore, Pari is not implicated in any way?

I do not see any reason why even if there is a DNA test Ankita cannot say that may be the genes match, but this Naren is really not the father of my child. The one who was is no more. That is it. How is Pari implicated in this?

This is the way I see it and think that what Ankita is doing is really pragmatic. It is in everyone's interest. She can handle it and others (especially Soham who of course, seems to love her even if in a weak way) should leave her alone at least for a few months.
***************

P.S. Also I was thinking - what are Ankita's lies? And what kind of lies are they?

Ankita said -
1) She loved Shashank - she did at some point
2) Her baby is not Naren's - it is not this Naren's who does not even recall Ankita - it is an earlier Naren's who loved her as Ahana
3) She did a contract marriage with Naren for money - initially she did marry to secure the well being of her family, and the contract actually exists - which has legal value that cannot be denied.

So, the writers have made it so complicated that saying what is truth and what is not with regard to things said by Ankita is actually very difficult.

Ankita made it clear in the letter that she loves Naren but she shud have directly said in the letter that my baby belongs to Naren, Naren cud not deny it if she said that but she made it sound too complicated in her letter and neither did she correct Naren at the train station when Naren clearly said that the baby Ankita's carrying is not his, instead she started lecturing him so much like as if shes done so much for him and trying to make him sound like a selfish person, Naren was only trying to help out Ankita if she needed but she rudely declined it, if she had come out clear about the fact that the baby she was carrying is Naren's, the confusion wud not have occurred. She has never clearly said that the baby is Naren's so Naren and Pari are going to be confused about it and they wont think the baby is Naren's since Ankita didnt directly tell them.

When was Ankita "lecturing" to Naren. I saw the scene and he was doing most of the talking! Please go and watch the scene again!
So because Ankita said that she loved Shashank in the past, naren and pari have every right to assume that she is sleeping with Shashank even after they are married to different people. Of course, justified since Pari herself said that she didnt mind sharing a bed with Naren in the hut . So she can judge people by such standards only. Poor Poor Pari.

After Naren got better than most of the conversations of Naren and Ankita , mostly Naren is the one who is doing the talking ..
Ankita does not talks to him that much , she mostly just nods her head ..
Yesterday she answered him back because he really crossed the line when he told a young pregnant girl , all alone and hardly with any money , It is better you leave because it I better for my life also . He says that he owes his happiness to her but he still lets her go alone , no concern at all for her health and security just because he will have it easier if she is just lost from the face of the earth ...( after reading her declaration that she loves him ) ...
And then show concern by offering her a pay off for her services to him ...
I am so proud of Ankita for answering back .I think she should have given him even more tough answers and told him to Get Lost .She thinks way too much for this rotten jerk ,That is her main fault ...
Anyway, Ankita is now out of his life and on her own ...I am happy for her . Looking forward to see where she is and how she did after 5 years of the leap ..

Hi bhalla, I don't mind being quoted 😆
I understand what you and a lot of the other members are saying.
For me, it's hard to blame naren because for him, his life ended with ahana and started with pari.
And obviously he would be in denial that he ever got close to anyone other than Pari.
BUT what excuse does Pari have?
Does she suffer from memory loss too?
Doesn't she remember those days when she and ankita were best friends, when neither ankita nor Pari knew that they were cousins?
Pari knows that ankita would not have known about Pari being ahana.
Ankita always used to mention how much she loves her husband and how he's so great and how much he loves her aswell and how much naren means to her. Pari even took a pic of ankita to send to naren, only she didn't know who naren was.
Whenever ankita and Pari were out together, ankita used to be constantly on the phone to naren.
Based on all of that, how can Pari think or assume that ankita was JUST a caretaker for naren.

She saw all that first hand and any tom, dick and harry would be able to deduce from all that lovey doveyness on show over the phone, that those two lovebirds were in a sexual relationship. So obviously based on that, naren would be the father.

I'd understand that no else would know the truth, that ankita needs to be clear with everyone else.
But for someone who used to be her best friend, who knew everything about her? Why does ankita need to be clear with her former best friend about the pregnancy, when Pari herself knew everything from before.
Even Pari used to open up to ankita a lot because ankita was the only person who understood her.
I'm not saying that Pari doesn't deserve her love, yes she does, but I'm sure she should have helped naren come to terms with the fact that he MIGHT be the father and that no matter what they SHOULD go for a DNA test even if Ankita says no. Why not just sort it out once and for all? naren has a right to DNA test as the supposed father even if mother says no, just in case there's even a 5% chance that baby is naren's.
But he doesn't care, because he doesn't want to know.
It's easy to blame just ankita but blame once again lies on all three of these people, especially mother and supposed father.
If ankita doesn't want to step up and take responsibility, then why are Pari and naren not taking responsibility either? When people are pointing fingers and the answer is ambiguous then why don't they all take responsibility, after all their lives are all intertwined now.

With all the complications we are observing in the show currently, I feel compelled to say this about the writing in the show.

I guess at the root of this all is the compulsive lying/hiding/covering in by all characters - the good, the bad, the ugly - in the PR land. As far as I can remember, I do not think any character in the 3 generations has been an exception (Ok, may be Sundari!).

Anything looks complicated and/or difficult? Don't bother to confront or resolve it. Just lie. Easy.

And even though this is the only Indian serial I have followed, just from getting glimpses of other shows my parents watch, I feel that lying/hiding/covering seems to be the most frequently used narrative device in Indian serials. The stories just can't proceed without all types of characters lying. Sometimes I think that this points to such a lack of imagination in development of plots. But then, I have to say (just from watching this serial) that there is whole range of diversity in reasons and forms of lying.

Some characters lie because they are manipulative and selfish and don't care about hurting (even destroying) others; some lie to cover which may be something totally silly; others (the good ones) lie for the sake of others. In addition to reasons behind lying, there are forms and quality of lying of a wide variety. Some are good at it and present a believable lie; some are so lame that you just have laugh and wonder as to who but the stupid other characters would believe them. And with so many lies they tell, do the characters keep a log of whom they told what on their iphones, which, like their noses (that they poke everywhere) are inseparable from them?

I think one can write a whole PhD. dissertation on use of lying as a narrative device in Indian serials!

Uff! And then Aamir Khan has a show - "Satyameva Jayate" - "only truth wins" !!!!
Go figure that one out!

Haha! omg, this was such a good read (esp. the bold)! In fact, quite a coherent piece of writing for something as incoherent as PR. lol, thank you for that!! (:

Thanks Soniiyaa. Always enjoy talking to you.

What you say here is exactly my hope. Let Paren live happily in their world and Ankita with her new hero. I hope the CVs stop this rona dhona business for everyone and give some happy smiling moments to all.

Do they not know comedy at all? Please, PH send your writers to comedian Kapil Sharma for a change!!
