Beautiful update Archu👏👏 its worth the wait 👍🏼Its time For Tara to open up and i really liked how u penned MJ's imagination while Sketching . Mj and chain smoking 😲 i hope Tara will make him realize and he stops smoking 😳 Please continue waiting for the next part and Thanks for the Pm😛

Last Day

Part (b)

After two hours everyone came to the lawn. All were happy to see the arrangements made for the campfire.

All the students sat around the campfire. They were enjoying the warmth of the campfire in the cold atmosphere of Nainital. They were discussing about their experience in Nainital.

Tara was sitting at a distance on the bench in the lawn, lost in her thoughts.

Mrityunjay was also sitting some distance away watching Tara. Mrityunjay was sketching Tara and imagining how she might look without glasses and bun, with loosened hair. This time he was intentionally portraying her to check whether the girl in his imagination and Tara are same.

After he completed the sketch, he went to his room and kept that sketch safely in his bag. After returning from his room, he thought to talk to Tara. He walked towards Tara.

"Tara...I heard about your mom." After a short pause, he continued.
"She will be fine. Trust me," said Mrityunjay standing next to her.

Tara came back to her senses on hearing this. She turned to look at who was saying this.

She was surprised to see Mrityunjay saying all this. She was wondering how he came to know about her mother and concluded it might have been the students who had told him.
She asked him to sit down.

"Thank you Mrityunjay for your concern," said Tara taking a deep breath. "But I know she will not be fine." All the words that the Doctor had told her last night again started hammering in her head. Tears dropped from her eyes, with a smile on her lips.

After hearing Tara, Mrityunjay was scared. "Why?? Is she very serious?? Please tell me what I can do for your mother," said Mrityunjay, sensing something very serious.

"She is at the last stage of cancer. She has only two to three months to live." After saying this Tara was not able to control her tears. Tears escaped from her eyes, wetting her cheeks.

Mrityunjay was shocked.
"OMG...! What a girl she is! Smiling even after so much pain," Mrityunjay wanted to say this, but was not able to say anything for that moment as his throat was choked.
After a moment he gathered nerve, cleared his throat and said, "You are going through so much pain but still you are smiling." After a slight pause, he continued, "How you can smile when you are going through so much??"

Tara once again smiled and said, "I can't stop what is going to happen tomorrow to my mother. But because of my pain today's happiness of these students should not be ruined." Tara saw the students playing antakshari, enjoying their last few moments in Nainital.

Mrityunjay was once again amazed to hear this from Tara. Generally, he had seen women crying over small issues but the woman sitting in front of him was smiling even after having such a serious problem in her life. His eyes were filled with tears thinking this.
"If you need any help, please let me know. After all we live in same city," said Mrityunjay giving his visiting card to Tara.

Tara was surprised to see this gesture of Mrityunjay, who was quite introvert. She had seen his helping nature in these two three days but helping to this extent was something which she never expected. "Jab aap mushibat mein ho tab apna saaya bhi saath chhod deta hai" and here was Mrityunjay, who was giving his visiting card to a woman who he met two days ago. She noticed Mrityunjay's moist eyes.

~Woh mera dard tha jisko tune jiya
Teri is baat ne humko hairaan kiya
Thi meri daastan dil tera ro diya~

Meethi's sweet voice got Tara's attention who was singing this song.
"This song is so true for me and Mrityunjay." She gave a glance to the man sitting next to her on that bench.

Both were quietly watching the students playing.

Yug came and took them to the campfire.

"Now Ma'am will sing," said Nandini.
"Yes Ma'am ... Please... please one song..." All students requested.

"Ok...Ok...I will sing only two lines and it's from an old movie," said Tara, taking a seat near Vasu.

Mrityunjay was quietly watching all this. He was developing more admiration for Tara seeing her smile even when she had all the reasons to cry.

~Ajeeb dastan hai yeh, kahan shuru kahan khatam
Yeh manzile hai kaunsi, na woh samajh sake na hum~

Mrityunjay was lost in his thoughts after hearing Tara's beautiful voice."She is a gifted person. A person with a good heart and a great voice."

"Bhai your turn," Mrityunjay came to his senses when Yug gave him the guitar.

"What?? What will I play on this??" he said flurried.

"Bhai, I am singing and you are going to play this guitar," said Yug childishly.

Yug started.

~Abhi abhi toh mile ho abhi na karo chhootne ki baat ~

Mrityunjay saw Tara after hearing the first line, he felt like that song was saying what he wanted to say. Yug nudged Mrityunjay, and again started to sing.

~Abhi abhi toh mile ho, Abhi na karo chhootne ki baat
Abhi abhi toh pasand aaye ho, Abhi abhi rootne ki baat
Abhi abhi toh roshni aayi, Abhi na karo muh chupane ki baat
Abhi abhi zindagi shuru hai, Abhi abhi tham jaane ki baat
Hum toh haare mahiya re, Moonde naina neend tihare ~

Mrityunjay was playing the guitar while gazing at Tara.
Tara was also watching Mrityunjay, who was playing guitar like a professional.

There was something in their eyes which was unsaid but was understood by both.
All clapped for Mrityunjay.

"Wow ...Bhai you are so good in playing guitar...I wish I could be as well," said Bunty, walking towards Mrityunjay.

"Me too..." Adi joined Bunty.

"Stop kidding you two. I am not good in this," said Mrityunjay handing the guitar to Yug.

"No, really you are very good in playing guitar," said Tara.

Mrityunjay smiled on hearing Tara's comment.

After a few more songs, they went to sleep as next morning they have to reach the station on time.

Next morning all gathered at the reception with their luggage.

"So all ready to leave?" asked Mrityunjay, seeing their luggage.

"Yes, But we don't want to go from here," said Vasu, making a sad face.

"Well for now you need to go. But do come back next year." Mrityunjay caressed Vasu.
"And this time come straight away here, don't go to any hotel. OK!" said Mrityunjay, smiling.

He was quite upset with this departure of the students as once again he would be alone. To lessen his stress he took one cigarette from his cigarette case and slipped that case in his trousers right pocket.
Mrityunjay was smoking very early this morning.

Tara noticed all this standing at some distance from the reception.
"Students, move your luggage to the car, fast!" said Tara pointing to them their way to the car. When all students left, Tara approached Mrityunjay.

"It was nice meeting you Tara," said Mrityunjay, quenching his cigarette.

"Yes, it was. This trip would have failed without your support," said Tara, looking at the students who were keeping their luggage in the car.

"Oh... I did all this for Yug and his friends," said Mrityunjay with a small smile on his face, seeing Yug and his friends playing and fighting for their place in the car.

"I wanted to thank you for saving me. So this..." Tara handed over a small box wrapped with glittery paper to Mrityunjay.

"Well, there was no need of this," said Mrityunjay seeing it. Then he saw Tara's face, her smile was fading after hearing Mrityunjay.

"But as you have bought it, I accept it as a departing gift," Mrityunjay took that gift from Tara.

"But I don't have anything to gift." He said taking a short deep breath.

"You have," said Tara bringing a big smile on her face.

"Really!!! Then please tell me what is that, I will give you," said Mrityunjay, a surprised smile brightening up his face.

"It's in your trousers' right pocket," said Tara, pointing at his pocket.

Mrityunjay searched his right pocket and found his cigarette case.
"You want my cigarette case?" He asked surprised, while taking out the cigarette case from his pocket.

"Yes!!!" she extended her hand in front of Mrityunjay, pointing him to keep that case on her hand.
"I have seen you smoking. You smoke too much Mrityunjay. You should not smoke so much." Hearing this from Tara, Mrityunjay gave his cigarette case to her.

"Ok Tara, I will try to reduce it," said Mrityunjay, while trying to hide his sadness in handing over that case.

"Ma'am, we are done," said Adi entering Shekhawat Mansion.

"It was nice meeting you Mrityunjay," said Tara, extending her hand for a final hand shake.

"It was. I hope we will meet again in Mumbai."

She started walking towards the car, but stopped and turned back to see Mrityunjay and said, "One more thing."

Mrityunjay was confused , thinking what else she was going to ask.

She continued, "You should smile more often, it suits you." Saying this Tara walked towards the car, leaving Mrityunjay to smile at this comment.

Tara and the students waved their final goodbye to Mrityunjay.
Mrityunjay too waved them goodbye.

The students started singing as Shekhawat mansion and Mrityunjay faded in the fog.

~Chalte chalte mere yeh geet yaad rakhna
Kabhi alvida naa kehna, kabhi alvida naa kehna~
