I can only hope that by the end of this some karmic justice is metted out to him. What he did today while believable and realistic--although I wonder how people were still dancing unaware, the gathering wasn't so big, nor was the music blasting loudly--was a disgusting, sick act. Yes I view such feudalistic behavior as disgusting and sick. And yes, I know it's a reality.
That waiter will never have his justice. But I hope Raghvendra truly gets what's coming to him, and Yamini one day stands up his crap and even walks away from him, leaving him no choice but accept that he has no control over her.

I am not really expecting that last part to happen, but I can hope. A-Holes like Raghvendra do not just relinquish control and change their nature or temperment due to any kind of calm reasoning.

On a similar note: Yamini will be different than Nikumbh's ex, in that she will eventually stand up and not give into her father and family. (Although in his ex's case, it wasn't just family pressure but also her own thoughts on Nikumbh's career, lack of future, money, etc.)

Raghavendra is just unbearable at time but fact that we can't deny, it happens in real too ..
abt Nikumbh's ex obviously she is way too different from Yamini means she didn't like simple bangle's as gift but on contrary i think Yamini belives in simplicity she would have loves that simple bangles Yamini don't believe in materialistic things that major difference

abt her being stand up for her love or something that to against her father it seems to be impossible for me right now but we never knw what future holds for them rather i will say what CV's want to show 😉

Oh, I dislike Raghvendra, but I have no complaints regarding the character itself. Meaning I can't stand Raghvendra, but I don't dislike him as a character.

He does get my blood boiling at times though. And I wish he gets what's coming to him. No I don't see Yamini going against her father right now. In fact I don't really expect something like that to be shown in an Indian serial anyway (I already posted a long rant on this a few weeks ago). But anyway, what he did today elevates him to another level. I truly despise him now--and it's not because of anything he did to Yamini but his revolting actions with the waiter. Sick mentality which unfortunately is all too common.

No doubt Raghvendra character is just like a father who is living in modern world withhis orthodox thinking
I too cant stand the character and it does get on my nerves sometimes esp the waiter sequence ws extremely heart wrenching i felt so bad for the waiter also the wayhe treats his wife is too ********

A huge applaud fr the actor who is able to maintain the pace and realisticness of Raghvendra's character

ooof this raghu is an absolutely obsessive psychotic person. I am telling you, he is not a normal regular protective daddy, not even a bit over protective, no-random-guy-allowed-to-talk-to-my-girl dad too. he is that kind of dad who treats a daughter as a possession, a ladder to use for his success and benefits, ready to abuse her verbally, physically when the balance between his absolute dominance and her absolute subservience seems threatened, even in his imagination. these dads happen to exist in real life too, sadly.
Some nwspaper facts I would like to mention :
1. A father locked her daughter for 7 long yrs in his basement in fear of losing his importance in her life, physically abused her when she tried to escape. she had only a radio to company her and keep her sanity.the situation traumatized her to such level that after her rescue, she was terrified of her independent state . And you know what that dad said in his defense ?? that he protected his child from this big bad world, treated her like a princess and showered all his love and attention to her !!

Didnt raghu used to punish little yamini, by locking her up in a dark storeroom, and didnt he threaten to lock her up all her life for her own good if she dares to do anything he objects ?
2. A father killed his daughter and her boyfriend in cold blooded manner and declared it to be a honour killing. there was nothing disapproving in the guy she fell in love and decided to marry, only that the father decided to give her hand in marriage to an politically influential family so that he could have certain benefits. whilegiving his statement to the police he said that he was not at all repentant that he punished his daughter rightly for disobeying him and the guy whose life he took was actually good but he came in between his daughter and his ambition and had to be sacrificed !

what was Raghavendra muttering feverishly as he watched nikumbh taking yamini to the stage by her hand ? as much I remember, it was something like this : prove me wrong Mini, else this guy will meet his end very soon !! And trust me he is very much capable of committing such crimes given he is such a chamcha of a dishonest MP who has a band of paid goons.

And why do u think he thrashed that waiter mercilessly without any apparent reason ? because he did not pay attention to him earlier ?? because he accidentally did touch yamini ? I did find his intention far more twisted that merely show a servant his place and his power over him or his sudden burst of ill temper. Uuuhu, whatever he did was carefully calculated. it was to show nikumbh (or the whole threatre group) it would be his turn next if dares to come close to his prized doll-daughter...that he would show absolute no mercy in tearing him apart.

Shreya, you beat me to it.
Great points. I was just about to reply to Anjali regarding Raghvendra and why he beat up that waiter.

I despise Raghvendra. His wife and daughter and even mother want to indulge in his obsessiveness and allow him to control their lives. Okay, fine. But here he just did something after which I will only hope the worst for him.

He beat up that waiter because the waiter was an easy target. All throughout he was talking about how he won't leave Nikumbh, but what happened was that he took it out on the poor, hapless waiter. Raghvendra was boiling at this point and yes, the waiter did not hear him calling earlier and that may have factored in as well.

Raghvendra wouldn't have dared to beat up Nikumbh there at that party. He couldn't. And he KNEW it. Effing coward and snake. Why didn't he make a scene with Nikumbh? He is calculating enough to know it would be disastrous. But he could easily transfer it all out on the waiter with no problems. And he KNEW it. So he beat up the waiter. Nikumbh, it's not that he wouldn't touch Nikumbh, but he wouldn't do it publicly.

It did bother me a bit that the people kept on dancing. Well not that people kept on doing it, that's normal for people to ignore such a thing. But Azam didn't notice what was going on. That was not a large group, and the music wasn't blasting. They should've all noticed it because people would've heard the commotion, people closest to the fight would notice, then the others next to those people also realize something is up, etc etc.

And if I really am honest, I was frustrated at Yamini too. Yamini was blamed for not speaking up for Nikumbh? Naaa, at least there it was verbal and not much of a big deal. if I were in her position, or rather I saw my father doing something so repulsive, I would lose all respect for him.

If Raghvendra wants to be controlling of his daughter, fine. Wrong, yes. But fine. But what did to that waiter...he deserves no sympathy or understanding. He doesn't deserve Yamini's respect.

In a way I can't help but blame Yamini here too. Logically I know I shouldn't because of her characterization. As well as the fact that it's difficult for any girl to stop such a violent reaction or fight. I didn't blame her for not speaking up for Nikumbh, but here I just wanted her to raise her voice, speak up instead of being so meek and grab onto her father. Yes, I know it's too much for her character. But if Narrator pointed out Yamini was wrong for not speaking up for Nikumbh, well this is far, far, far worse. Nothing was going to happen to Nikumbh. That waiter though, he was thrashed for no reason and probably lost a job, and who knows what else.

I don't understand. If I saw a waiter getting beat the crap out of him by my father, due to an over-reaction directly related to me . I would not be able to go about my day or week without heavy dread.
Ugh!
