Yeah I don't think his wife's supposed affair justifies his criminal activities. I mean it's clear that this guy is mentally unstable and he didn't love Sia but was merely obsessed with her. He killed Sia thinking that if she can't be his then she can't be anyone else's, which shows that he didn't trust Sia. Where there is love, there is trust and vice versa.
