,,Chachi!Chachi!" Kavya stormed into their room and hugged her Aunt tightly. Aastha smiled at her love and kissed her forehead. For Aastha Kavya was already like her own daughter. She wished Shlok and Her would have a child as innocent, cute and beautiful as Kavya.

,,Kavya Beta Aram Se. Your Aunt is still not completely fine , okay?" Shlok smiled and Kavya immediately said sorry. She tried to free herself but Aastha just hugged her tighter. She felt happier after looking at Kavyas face. Somehow Kavya always managed to make Aastha happy, to make her forget many things.

,,Shlok you should better be going. You can finish the pending work else Father in Law will be really angry with both of us and you don't want that to happen. Anyways Kavya is with me now and I will tell her some stories and then we will sleep right?"

Kavya nodded and looked at her Uncle. ,, Haan Chachu you can leave."

,,Are you sure?" Shlok asked; already looking for his files. He always displaced them and then would yell at Aastha.

,, I am sure! Bye the way the files are in the drawer next to your bookshelf."

Shlok smiled and kissed her softly. She always could read his mind.

,, I would be lost without you meri Jaan."

Aastha laughed and Shlok left to finish his work in his study room.

Kavya turned to her Chachi and asked: ,, Where is my new doll?".

Aastha was surprised. Which doll was Kavya talking about?

,, Doll? Which Doll beta?"

,,The one you promised me."

,, Lekin kyun?"

,, You said if I would sleep beside Grandma you would buy me a new doll. Did you forget?" Kavya looked sad and Aastha remembered the promise.

,,I am so sor-"Aastha started but was interrupted by a male voice.

,,Beta so that is the reason you were sleeping beside me and your Grandma?"

Aastha and Kavya looked to the Door and saw Niranjan entering.

He came closer and asked Kavya to leave the room because he needed to talk to Aastha. Kavya nodded and left without saying a word leaving a scared Aastha behind.

She feared her Grandpa as much as Aastha did.

,,Father in Law..." Aastha didn't know what to say. He caught her red handed.

,,CHUP! Don't say a word. You know what earlier when I first saw you I thought you would be the perfect daughter in law and that you and Shlok would make a great Couple. I thought you would adjust to the family and our rules but it seems like you are the one who tries to break them."

Aastha stood up and tried to look innocent. How could she tell him she knew about his real face? That he was a coward hiding behind his wife so he could keep his face infront of his children? How to tell him she knew that he used his strength to beat his own wife, the mother of his children?

,, Baba believe me. I respect you but I wanted to protect mother in law."

,, Why do you think she needs protection?" He approach Aastha and his anger was visible. Aastha did not know where to look and what to say but she finally found her voice. She would not let him threaten her.

,, Because I know that you are beating her up as she was a slave. Don't you feel ashamed to beat the mother of your children? The woman that was by your side for the past 30 years? Don't you have any feelings?". Aastha was almost yelling which displeased Niranjan even more. He came closer and Aastha went back. She fell against her wardrobe and cried in pain.

How could he scare her so much that he would even cause her pain?

Wasn't he aware of the fact that she could lose the baby?

Maybe...Aastha looked up at him. Was it possible that he was responsible for her first miscarriage? Could it be that he was one step ahead of her?

,,Father in Law I am pregnant! Would you threaten me knowing that I am carrying your grandchild? The child of your Son? Your Shlok?". Aastha tried to get up but failed due the pain she felt in her back. It was like knifes digging into her back.

,,Of Course not Beta. I just wanted to show you your place in this house. If I want I could kill both of you in a second. Don't mess with Niranjan Agnihotri."

,,What about Shlok? He would be heartbroken? Don't you even care about him?"

Niranjan laughed and Aastha felt disgusted by him. How could he do something like that? To his own son? The son he claimed to love.

,, My Son would always choose me over you. No matter if you are carrying his child or not. He listens to every word I say Aastha. He would leave you the moment I would ask him to."

They looked at each other and with a smile he left the room, leaving her there; laying on the floor like a sack of potatoes. Slowly everything became dark and Aastha lost all her senses.
