There's Sonam, Shraddha, aswell.

Sonam dad Anil pretty famous.

Oh yes! I forgot about both of them...

So we have 5 actress from filmy background and approx 5 actors from non-filmy background (Amitabh, SRK, Akshay, Siddharth, Ranveer {even though its bit controversial} )
My point still stands true...

Among the current crop of actors, it is very difficult to pass that initial screening
outsiders rarely get a chance to repeat if their debut fails

an Amitabh bacchan getting a zanzeer after multiple flop movies is unimaginable in todays time

and every week a new star kid hit the premise and are shoved down our throat. Because movies which get publicity are only those movies.

It took yrs of tv work to get some sort of foothold in bw for outsiders. Sushant was lucky, he got the right chance at right age, not all of them are.

with each passing day, the margin between tv and bw is widening so much it is becoming even more difficult

I had once read an interesting comment by Mithun-These days its easy to make films and difficult to release them. I couldnt help but think how right he was. Any film even if it has a superstar needs a rocking trailer, good music, great promotions and finally on the day of the release a great screen count till about two weeks to put in big numbers, if the actual film is good. What are the chances that a newbie gets all this? Only a good producer can ensure this. These days producers prefer picking up people from their known circles-either those related to themselves, or related to others in their circle. An outsider's chance becomes almost nil. Even if an outsider manages to get a good debut despite all these factors after his debut he needs to get decent films to build a fanbase. Most likely he would be competing with starkids and those starkids would get a great second/third/fourth film and establish themselves while the outsider would get a few flop films and disappear. The best such example is Alia vs Yami/Ileana. Yami and Ileana walked away with all the debut awards against Alia but today who is ahead? On what basis did Alia get a better second/third/fourth film vs them?
I dont think there will be another SRK or Big B from BW. Those days are over. Now if you want to look out for future stars you will probably have to look at other mediums like youtube where talented outsiders are toiling away.
