Well, firstly you have to get his number. LOLOLOL. After you have that, your cheapest way would be to get a calling card. I am also from NY so I know you can find them anywhere. When you get the card, find out the area code for wherever he lives. If its his cell number then I guess you would dial only the number. but you can use your home phone and it won't cost you extra because you will be using a calling card. Hope this helps.
