Just in case there might be confusion about them addressing their parents.. As their families were so close from the beginning and RK-Madhu grew up together they had adopted mutual addressals of their parents since childhood.
So RK's parents are papa for both and Radha ma for Madhu and Madhu's parents are Mom and Dad for both of them...
That might be the reason how they ended up getting married by their parents... 😆
Part 3
Madhu woke up the next morning and looked around as she sat up. She was so tired. "Only if we had a good Sunday's rest... This morning wouldnt have been so heavy... " she yawned while saying.
She looked at RK who was still sleeping and Madhu shook him up. "RK...!" she called out in a sleepy tone. "Wake up na..." she insisted but RK didnt move at all.
She went to freshen up and when she came back she saw him still sleeping. She smiled seeing him, "poor RK... he must be so tired because of yesterday.." she came up to sit beside him on the bed and came close to his ear.
"RK..." she said in a husky voice. All of his senses came alive. It was the most beautiful dream RK had had, because it felt so real. "RK.." He felt a bliss. There were a lot other dreams he had but this felt so real. Madhu saw his ear twitching.
"Wake up you idiot..." she screamed and RK jerked to sit up. He looked around and then stared at Madhu blankly.
"What? Wake up..." she said irritatedly.
RK frowned and glared at her angrily while Madhu stood up coolly and went out of the room humming. "A ruined sunday gives a ruined monday... " he complained to himself as he got up.
when RK came to the breakfast table Madhu was smiling brightly sitting infront of cheese toast and pasta. RK's face lighetened up seeing the breakfast.
"Is there something special?" He said as he sat on the chair
"Na.. i thought i ruined your sunday so i should make up for it with ur favourite breakfast.." she said smiling.
"wow... u did that brilliantly babe..." he said as he helped himself with the food.
"I am working for making your day better and you want to irritate me?" madhu said frowning. Though her frown was fake. She had now started enjoying the 'babe' that came from RK but she knew that it would destroy the fun if she doesnt respond that way. RK chuckled hearing her. "Yup... I am doing everything to make my day.. and that frown does give me a good start..." he said winking at her.
"I will eat all of this if you are gonna behave like this..." she said threatening.
"Go ahead, help yourself... I want you to eat... Its you who is so much diet conscious.." he said as he took the first bite.
They finished the breakfast and RK prepared to leave for work. "Madhu when will you be back today?" He asked while picking up his bag.
"I can't exactly say.. i will call you and confirm." Madhu saiid with her hands behind her back.
RK was still fiddling around the sofa. "What happened? When will you get out. I have to get ready for work too..." Madhu complained.
"Yes Madhu... Just a sec." He said in a busy tone.
"Come on RK just go..." she said trying to sound irritated but hiding her amusement.
RK straightened hearing her. "Madhu just give it..." he said as if tired.
"What???" Madhu tried not to smile but couldnt help.
"That thing you are holding behind your back..." he said smiling at her childish behavior. She was still such a child.
"I dont have anything.." Madhu shook her head scandalized at the fact that her tricks always get caught.
"Dont be a child..." he tried sounding irritated so as to satisfy her.
"How... how do you get to know... All my tricks get ruined.. Its been like that since always..." she said as she handed him his wallet.
"So learn to pretend well..." RK said amused at her.
"Whatever I do... You always catch me... and yes by the way.. you had thrown this below the sofa... If I had not bent down to take my slipers out you would really been searching for it madly by now..." she said frowning.
"Ohhh.. maybe yesterday when we returned i must have dropped it... Anyways Thanks babe.." he said rushing out of the house.
Madhu smiled seeing him hurrying out. He didnt say 'I love you' to Madhu or declared his love all the time. Because he didnt want her to feel conscious or uncomfortable. She knew he wanted her to be normal with him. But she also knew he loved her. Not only because of the way he behaved and took her care but also because of that only time he had confessed his feelings for her. Their wedding night.
"Madhu I know I never told you... because I never felt the need. The relationship between us was enough for me to be happy and satisfied.. but I think today I should tell you now.. I LOVE YOU MADHU.." Madhu was stunned to hear that as she sat on the decorated bed in her bridal dress. She had thought their marriage was just a compromise between two friends. She hadnt thought that he loved her.. she saw him with a stunned expression.
"Yes.. but i dont expect that in return. I know you dont love me... And i know it would take time for u to accept this fact but it is a necessity now that i tell you that this relation is not a compromise for me. But you be how you are. I am not going to force anything on you and i still remain on each word that I had promised you that day. And I would do anything to keep my promise. And dont think I am changed because of this marriage. I am not changed because this was the way I had felt for you... I have loved you Since Always..."
"Since Always" RK smiled as he remembered, how Madhu always addressed their relationship. "know each other Since Always... stood up for each other Since Always..." and she was right but how he wished she had also loved him 'Since Always' like he did. He was now driving to his work as the thoughts came to his mind. She herself didnt realise how much she used that phrase for herself and RK, he smiled as that thought came his mind.
Madhu was getting ready when her phone rang. She picked up the phone-
"Hello my jaan..." she said happily.
"Hello... how is everything.."
"Haaa.. how can it be?.. Irritated by my husband.." she said rolling her eyes.
"Ohh really... Get him here.. I will teach him a good lesson how to behave with you.."
"Na... Nobody can put a hand on him except for me..." she said frowning.
"Of course... how can I forget..."
Madhu giggled. "Oh my... How much I love you..." she said dreamily.
"You both just say... If you had really loved me you both wouldnt have gone away..."
"Awww... Dont get upset Radha ma... you know we love you... And what have you decided about visiting us?"
"I am yet to talk to Padmini about it..." Radha said smiling.
"Ohhooo.. you and Mom are so slow..." she complained.
Radha laughed. "And how is Rishu?"
"Yup improving day by day.." she said in attitude. "and how is papa?.."
"He is good.. but i dont know when he and Malik would accept that they have grown old?" She said in a tired tone.
"Come Radha ma.. dont be so rude.. he is so lively.. and you are calling him old.." she said pouting.
"Whatever he may do... But the fact is fact... How i wish that Rishu leaves his stubbornness and come back... They both need rest..."
"Sikky is there na...?" Madhu said guilty. She had tried talking to RK to return back but he would just postpone the matter.
"He is... but he is such a child... Did you talk to him?" Radha asked hopefully.
"Yes I did... but he said he would come back soon..." she said upset.
"Hmmm... he is like that... Mohan also needs to accept that he needs rest now.." she said.
"Come on... he is not that old. He still does everything to impress you... Dont forget last Valentine's" she teased.
"Shut up.. Badmash..." Radha tried to hide her smile.
"I can see that blush..." Madhu said teasingly.
"Madhu I have to go... And you have to go to work too.." she said smiling as she hanged up the phone.
Madhu laughed as she kept the phone. Even after so many years Radha would shy like a girl when teased for her husband and even he would leave no stone unturned to embarass her by making his love declarations. But when she remembered her talk with Radha, her smile dropped. She remembered that day when RK had decided to move out.
"Why do we have to go?" Madhu asked the tenth time irritatedly.
"Madhu... I want to have something on my own... " he told her the tenth time.
"Shut up... what does that mean... all this is your own..." Madhu said scolding him.
"See Madhu... All this is created by papa and Dad... I have just gone to office the first day and i was the boss.. I dont want it that way.." he tried explaining
Madhu who was now tapping her foot on the ground in agitation with her hands on her hip. "Now you tell me... what twisted psychology is that?"
"Also Madhu... I have promised you that your life won't change after this marriage. You can have the time you want to accept this. And i know if we stay here one way or the other you will have to behave like a wife and daughter in law. You were not ready for marriage and staying here you cant help but be like that... i dont want you to do anything before being ready for that..." he tried explaining.
"RK you dont need to take that so seriously... I have no problem staying here... Radha ma and papa have known me forever. They are not gonna change their attitude towards me because of this marriage... and dont forget they always had regarded me as their daughter in law. So how does just a ceremony changes their attitude for me" Madhu sat beside him telling him what she had herslef come to know recently. She was shocked at first that they had always regarded her as ther daughter in law but when she thought over it she couldn't help but understand their perspective. And it was obvious too when they had a son of her age and they loved her so much.
"Yes.. they have regarded you their daughter in law but you didnt see them as your in laws. Right? We didnt even know that they had been planning this wedding." He argued back.
After a lot of pestering and pampering, RK had won and they had bid adieu to their parents in between all the sobs and kisses. Madhu was angry with RK but soon she melted down. But now somewhere Madhu was happy that RK took this decision. It had given them time to accept each other. Specially Madhu. She was happy being RK's wife and best friend. Now only she needs to tell him. She sighed thinking as she entered her workplace now.
