There was a whole thread dedicated to how despo DP was just because she stated that she would like to work with KJO if he offers her Shuddhi. So according to this forum's rules I'm guessing Sona is a despo as well.

Hope she gets the role. She definitely suits period roles.

@MischiefManaged I'm not defending that thread or anything, but from some of the comments I've read here it seems like DP was sending feelers while Kareena was still officially a part of Shuddhi.

But it's pretty clear that in Bollywood actresses have to send out feelers for movies if they want any chance of getting cast in these big projects.

I would love to see you in a periodic film. You, Ranveer and Deepika would have been my ultimate casting for BajiRao but I am ok with Ahutosh's period drama like Jodha Akbar...

Nothing wrong in sending feelers or even directly asking for work...

I hope she gets cast in the film...sick of seeing Hrithik with the same old faces ash kat PC faces...she will bring more freshness to the film...

The thread I'm talking about was made after KJO ditched Kareena, at least as far as I remember.

And I don't have anything against actresses sending 'feelers' to directors/producers...am merely pointing out the double standards of this forum because according to this forum, whatever DP does or says is because she is a jealous and insecure, conniving bitch.

There have been multiple changes to the cast of Karan Johar's Shuddhi and even now, no one has signed on the dotted line. After Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor walked out of the film, several top actors in the industry have been vying for the project.

Among the current favourites, Deepika Padukone's name has been tossed around frequently. Several industry insiders even believe that she is one of the top contenders for the project.

However, neither Karan nor anyone from his team has confirmed anything.

On Wednesday evening, at an event, when she was quizzed about the matter, Deepika confessed that she would really want to be a part of Shuddhi and is only waiting for Karan to ask her. "I'd do the film. If I like the script and if Karan makes me an offer I will take it up," she said.

Sonakshi will look the part as the movie is a period film.

And there is nothing wrong in actresses sending feelers. It's not that Producer/director will invest in the heroine even if they don't want to after receiving the feelers.Everything is business in Bollywood. But guess in IF there are different rules for Deepika.
