EK ANOKHI KAHAANI - PART 37

"Aap fikar mut kijeeye! Don't worry... We will find Aastha!!" said Shlok but he too was very worried now.

As Shlok and Avdhoot were about to get in the car, Shlok's phone began ringing. Shlok was relieved to see the name... Aastha.

"It's Aastha's phone!!" he said and recieved the call.

The call ended. Shlok and Avdhoot told Kalindi that there was nothing to worry, Aastha was alright and she was late because there was some problem with the bike.

"I will go get her... Don't worry!" said Shlok as he walked towards the car.

"I will also come with you!" said Avdhoot moving towards the car.

"No!!!" said Shlok instantaneously because Aastha had told him to come alone. Avdhoot and Kalindi stared at him in confusion. They couldn't understand this reaction of Shlok. "I mean... uh... Sirf gaadi band padi hai us ki... Her bike is not starting, that's all! There is nothing to worry! She is alright! I will safely bring her home, don't worry! Aap aaraam se yahaan rukiye... I will get her!" said Shlok.

Avdhoot wasn't sure. He looked at Kalindi who nodded to agree with Shlok.
Shlok left.
Avdhoot and Kalindi did not fail to notice Shlok's concern for Aastha.

Shlok reached the place and saw Aastha waiting there alongside her bike. He parked the car by the roadside and went towards her. He could see that she was a bit scared. As he went nearer, he noticed that she was bleeding. There were wounds on her arms and her limbs as well. There were some two-three people standing by her side.

"Aastha! What is all this? Yeh sab..." Shlok looked at her in shock.

"Sir... mera accident ho gaya! A guy was driving car rashly and... I don't know what happened... I... Accident..." Her eyes became wet. She was scared. Her hands were trembling. Shlok held her hands to comfort her.

"Aastha, I am here now! Okay? Tumhein zyada chot toh nahi lagi? Are there any major wounds?" asked Shlok. He saw that Aastha's sleeve was torn off at the shoulder. He quickly covered her with his coat.

"Come, let's go to the hospital...!" said Shlok. The word "hospital" scared Aastha.

"Nahi!! No need to go to any hospital!! I am fine! Just small bruises here and there... that's all!" said Aastha.

"Theek se chal nahi paa rahi ho... And you say you are fine?! You are limping Aastha!!" scolded Shlok.

"That will be fine Sir! No problem!" said Aastha. Shlok understood that Aastha was scared.

"Come, let's go home!" said Shlok.

"My bike?" said Aastha.

"Leave your bike here... we will collect it tomorrow! Right now let me take you home! Do you have any idea how worried we all were? How worried your Aai-Baba were? What if something worse had happened to you, aan?!!" said Shlok.

"Thank God I was wearing a helmet... Warna aaj toh I would have been dead!"

"Aastha!!!! What are you saying?!!" scolded Shlok. Aastha was taken aback by that. Shlok too was surprised at his own reaction. He tried to change the topic. "And why don't you want your parents to know about the accident?"

"They worry a lot. And Baba is a heart patient. He gets very tensed when something happens to me. He had suffered a heart attack last year. Now I don't want anything happen to him. Please don't tell them anything about the accident, please! I will tell them everything after two-three days, I promise!!" said Aastha.

Shlok smiled. "Okay!" he said.

Shlok saw that Aastha's hands were aching and she was having difficulty in opening the car door. He opened the door for her. She got in with the help of Shlok. Shlok got in. He helped her with her seat belt. Shlok looked at her bleeding wounds and her teary eyes. He could make out that the wounds were paining. He took out the first aid kit and just looked at her. She first hesitated, but then took off Shlok's coat, that he had put round her shoulders, and folded up the full sleeves of her shirt to uncover the wounds. Shlok gently applied dettol on her wounds. Aastha closed her eyes tolerating the burning sensation and the pain. Next Shlok looked at the wounds on her legs. Her blue pant had purple patches at those places because of bleeding. Aastha's heart beats increased as Shlok gazed at her legs. But what Shlok said surprised her...

"You apply dettol on those wounds yourself. I will get out of the car. Tell me when you are done!!" saying so Shlok got down from the car leaving the first aid box there.
After Aastha was done, she called Shlok and they left for home.

When they reached home, she saw Aai-Baba and Ajju waiting at the door. She quickly unfolded the sleeves of her shirt to cover her wounds. She covered her upper body with her scarf so that no wound was visible. Both got out of the car. Avdhoot and Kalindi tried to talk to Aastha but she avoided them saying, "I will first change and then we will talk, okay!"

Aastha began walking to her room as normally as possible. Avdhoot,Kalindi and Ajju stared at her.
"Aastha!! Wait a minute!!" said Kalindi.

Aastha stopped at her place, her heart pumping louder. She closed her eyes thinking, "Kahi Aai ko pata toh nahi chal gaya? Oh God! Please no!!"

"What are those marks on your pant?" asked Kalindi.

Aastha didn't know what to say. She looked at Shlok. He tried to defend her saying, "Oh those!! Actually we tried every way to start her bike... I think those marks are of the engine oil...!!" he said.

"Oh okay okay!" said Kalindi.

Aastha sighed in relief. "Thank you so much Sir!" she said in her mind and hurried to her room.

Aditi was waiting for Shlok to return. She had bought a new tracksuit to wear during jogging with Shlok from next morning. She was very excited and wanted to tell Shlok that she too would go for jogging with him every morning. She had told everyone by now except Shlok. Why was he taking so much time to come back? Where was he gone? She just sat on the sofa in the hall waiting for Shlok.

"Aap kya lenge? Tea, coffee, juice? And what would you like to eat?" asked Kalindi to Shlok who was waiting for Aastha to come down.

Shlok felt awkward at them calling him "aap" and "Sir". He said, "Aap please mujhe 'aap' aur 'Sir' mut kahiye... Ajeeb lagta hai...! I am like your son. Call me 'Shlok'... aur please 'aap' mut kahiye... 'tum' kahiye... I would be glad and honestly more comfortable with that!"

Others smiled and agreed.

"Actually, I wanted to talk to Aastha... alone!" said Shlok.

Others exchanged glances and were shocked.

"I know Aastha must have already told you everything that day... but still I won't be comfortable speaking in front of you all...!"

They remembered Aastha had come late that day and had not told them anything saying that she had promised Shlok that she would not disclose anything to anyone. Kalindi told it to Shlok. That was unexpected for him.

"What? She didn't tell you anything?!" he was surprised.

Just then Aastha came down. She looked better now. "Aastha, you didn't tell them anything about Aai?" asked Shlok. Aastha nodded in "no". Shlok turned to others and said, "Please don't mind my talking to Aastha alone... And don't worry, Aastha will tell you everything later, okay Aastha?" Aastha nodded.

Shlok and Aastha walked out and stood near the car.

"How are you now?" asked Shlok.

"Better!" said Aastha. "Tell me!! What happened? Did you speak to your Aai? Did you show her your room? Was she happy? What did she say? Oh I am so excited to know!"

Shlok came home to see Aditi waiting there for him.

"Shlok, I am coming with you for jogging from tomorrow!!" she declared in excitement.

"Okay!" said Shlok, "But I want you ready at 5:30 sharp!! I won't wait for you!!" and he went to his room without waiting for Aditi's reply.

Next day, Shlok came down ready to go for a jog and was surprised to see Aditi sitting there on the sofa in her new track-suit, yawning.

"Arey waah!! You are ready before time?!!" said Shlok.

"Woh kya hai na Shlok, I didn't want to be late... So I wore the track suit at night itself and slept here on the sofa!!"

"What?!!" exclaimed Shlok. He controlled his laughter with great difficulty. "This girl is mad!!" he thought.

They both went for a jog.

Shlok reached office. He wanted to pick Aastha up, but Aastha said she would come with Aakash. She didn't want to trouble Shlok more. So Shlok's mood was already off. He was sitting in his cabin when he suddenly remembered the incidents that had happened with Aastha in the office. "This Sonali!! I will see what SHE has to say now!! I will see who saves her!" thought Shlok. He told his PA, Riya, to call Sonali to his cabin at once. He alse called Rahul.

Shlok interrogated Sonali. She agreed that she had told the peon to leave the File sent by Shlok on Aastha's desk. But she had not taken the file. She left the place after some time and that's when she had last seen the file. She said that she had not done anything.

Shlok told her to go at the moment, till he confirmed what she said was right. Shlok ordered for the CCTV footage of the camera outside Aastha's cabin of that day, and also the CCTV footage of the camera near the hall where Aastha was trapped during her first project.

Shlok and Rahul checked the footages and they were shocked to know who it was behind all that happened with Aastha.

"Oh my God!! YEH hai iss sab ke peechhe?!!! I don't believe it!!!" exclaimed Shlok as they both stared at the face on the screen.
