Chapter 2: The mistaken identity

She saw the boy's photograph and her eyes grew wide. "Ye toh..." Navya whispered shockingly.

*Oh God! If am not wrong yeh toh vahi ladka hain jiske saath aaj mein college mein...yeh mujhe dekhne aa raha hain?* Navya thought.

She further took out the bio-data.

"Okay so iska naam Mohan Bajpai hai. Age 26 years.."Navya read the data.

*Ek minute 26 years?*Navya thought * ye dikhne mein toh 24-25 ke beech ka lag raha tha phir 26 saal kaise?

"Ohh no"says Nimisha(Anant n Mohan's cousin sister) panicked holding a photo of Mohan "ye maine kya kar diya,maine Mohan bhai ki jagah Anant bhai ki tasveer Mishras ke ghar bhej di,ab main kya karu?"She bites her nails in fear.

Nimisha went to her mother,Savita(Anant n Mohan's chachi) and told her the whole incident.

Savita gave an angry look to Nimmi but then she told her to confess everything infront of Om and Sugandha.

"Tauji, mujhse ek galti ho gayi"says Nimmi to Om looking down.

"Kaisi galti beta?" Asks Om

"Vo teen din pehle..."Nimmi continued.

*Flashback*

"Taiji please,mai choose karungi ki kaunsi pic hum Mohan Bhai ki Mishras ke yaha bhejenge!"says a stubborn Nimmi.

"Nimmi tu kyu taiji ko pareshan kar rahi hai vo jaldi se koi photo nikalke bhej dengi na"says Savita

"Arae rehne do na Savita,bichari ka itna mann kar raha hain toh isi ko photo bhejne de,ye le" She hands her an envelope "ismein Mohan ka bio data hain, tujhe jo tasveer apne bhai ki achi lage vo iss envelope mein daal dena aur apne tauji ko de ana, jaa jake drawer se album nikal le"

"Thankyou Taiji"She kissed on Sugandha's cheek "you are the best" and she ran from there.

She took out the album but she was not getting a good picture of Mohan.Suddenly she saw some loose photographs at the back of the album. It had some photos of Anant as well.She found one good pic of Mohan in a black suit and decided to keep this pic. Just then her phone rang. It was her best friend Pooja. She jumped to pick up her phone and kept the picture which got mingled with rest of the loose photos.She went to the other side and started chatting with her.

After sometime she heard Om shouting to bring the envelope. She hanged on Pooja's phone and without lifting up the photograph,took the first one,kept it inside the envelope and went to give it back to Om.

*Flashback ends*

"I am really sorry Tauji,mujhe maaf kar dijiye" pleads Nimmi.

Om thought for a while about how to get rid of this problem.

"Khair aage padhti hoon" Navya read out further "Vedant Publications mein kaam karta hain"

*Mujhe ye baat Rits aur Appy ko batani chahiye* Navya thought and quickly dialed up Rits no.

She then took Appy into a conference.

"Guys!Mujhe tum logo ke saath kuch important share karna tha"Says Navya.

"Haan bol na!"says Rits.

"Vo jis ladke ke saath aaj main college mein bhidi thi na, vo..vo"Navya fumbled

"Ohho Navya vo..vo ke aage kuch toh bol?Asks Appy excitedly.

"Haan uska rishta aaya hain mere liye" said Navya in one go.

Appy and Rits paused for a moment.

"ah hello guys,tumlog line pe ho?" Asks Navya confused.

"OH..OH MY GOD!!!" shouts Rits and Appy cheerfully nearly making Navya a def.

"mujhe toh yakeen hi nai ho raha,soch Navya agar teri isse shaadi ho gayi toh kitna acha hoga na!"speaks Rits.

"arae Rits tu bhi yakeen karle,maine kya kaha tha,love at first sight hmm"giggled Appy while patting her shoulder in proud.

"matlab soch Navya"Appy continued "Vo tujhpe itna fida ho gaya ki ghar pohuchte hi tere liye rishte ka niyota bhijwa diya hmm not bad!"

"Guys tumlog na sachme pagal ho aur Appy vo mujhe kaise pehchane ga?usae toh mera naam bhi nai pata aur paper mein kaunsa meri koi photo chapi hai?"says Navya with an obvious tone.

"Arae Navya tu bhi na,ye toh soch ki usne tere pyaar mein tera naam,pata sab pata karwa liya aur jab usne tera matrimony ad padha tab toh uske liye sone pe suhaga hi ho gaya. Says Rits and laughed joined by Appy.

"Rits,teri akal bhi na Appy jaisi ho gayi hai,dono pure paagal ho,mai phone rakhti hoon,bye"Navya cut the phone.

"area sunn toh"Appy said and they both giggled.

It was evening time. The bajpai family has decided that once they will reach the Mishra house, they will sort out this confusion as it will be hard to make them understand on the phone. Anant and Mohan were unaware of all this as Om has told them to come directly to Mishras house from the office.

"Navya wore a dark green coloured chudidar kurta with silver earings and silver bangles and with her hair plaited to one side. She looked like a doll today.

"Meri bachi ko kisi ki nazar na lage"says Meeta while putting a little kajal behind her ear.

"Maa aap bhi na" Navya said becoming a bit emotional and hugged her mother.

It was 7:00 o' clock and the Bajpais came to their house.

"Namasty Bajpai Ji"Says Deepak.

"Namasty Mishra Ji"Says Om.

Deepak and Meeta welcomed them and they all sat.Meeta came with some snacks and tea.

They talked for a while.

Then Deepak asked "Jee vo aapka beta nahi aaya?"

"Jee mere dono bte office se seedhe aapke ghar aayenge,thoda important kaam tha" says Om

"Arae Jee koi baat nai"Deepak smiled.

"Hume aapse kuch zaruri baat karni thi"says Om.

"Haan jee kahiye na"says Deepak.

"Vo actually hua ye ki.."Om tries to speak but was cut by Deepak.

"Arae vo dekhiye aapke dono bte bhi aa gaye.

Both Mohan and Anant entered. They touched Deepak and Meeta's feet.

Om found it difficult to speak in front of his sons as it would be quite embarrassing for them.

Just then Navya came along with Renu(her elder sister).

Anant was shocked seeing her rather surprised at the same time.*She was looking beautiful* he thought but he didn't know what to feel right now, happy or sad as they came here to see the girl for Mohan and not for him.

Navya touched everyone's feet there. She was been made to sat behind Anant on the sofa. The bajpais were confused as they don't know how to say that they have come with Mohan's proposal.

Anant was confused at the same time about what was happening including Mohan as well while Navya sat there with a shy smile.

Sugandha tried to say something but was gestured by Om not to speak.

"Beta Navya aap Anant aur Mohan ko apna ghar nai dikhayengi"says Om as he finds this as the best opportunity to tell the truth.

"Haan beta jaa na"says Deepak.

Navya nodes her head and took them both inside her house.

Now Navya has misunderstood Anant's name as Mohan and Mohan's name as Anant.

Three of them went to Navya's room.

"Room kaafi acha hain aapka"says Anant looking around the room.

"Thanks"says Navya "Umm Mohan ji"

Mohan came to her and asks "ji?"

Navya was confused. "Aapka naam Mohan hai?" asks Navya shocked.

"Ji mera hi naam Mohan hai kyu?"Asks Mohan more confused.

Anant was looking at the two with a blank face and then comes to Navya and asks "Kyun aapne kya socha tha?"

"Ahh maine ab ek minute" says Navya. She goes towards her drawer and took out that envelope. She hand over it to Anant. He was shocked looking at his photo and then the bio-data of Mohan.

*Kaash bio-data bhi mera hi rakh dia hota* thought Anant but then brushing off his thoughts he continued.

"Oh God,bohut badi confusion ho gayi!"says Anant.

"Kya hua?"asks Mohan.

"umm Navya actually pata nai kaise meri kisine tasveer iss envelope mein rakh di. Ye rishta tumahre ghar mere liye nai balki Mohan bhai ke liye aaya tha aur mera naam Anant hai,Mohan nahi" He said the last sentence with an upset tone.

Navya didn't say a word. She looked at both of them.

"Arae Bajpai ji koi baat nai. Aakhir galtiyan kisse nahi hoti aur ye Nimmi bhi toh abhi bachi hi hai.Hume aapke dono bte hi pasand hain phir Navya ki shaadi Mohan se hi ho,hume koi pareshani nai." Says a cheerful Deepak after hearing the truth.

"Mishra Ji ye toh humari khush kismati hain ki hume aapke jaisa itna acha parivaar mila aur Navya jaisi hone wali bahu."says a relaxed Om.

"Arae vo dekhiye" Meeta said looking at Anant,Navya n Mohan coming "ye teeno bhi aa gaye,beta Navya mujhe tujhse kuch..."Meeta tried to clear the confusion but was cut by Navya.

"Maa,main sab kuch janti hoon" says Navya.

Meeta goes to Navya while Anant and Mohan sat beside Om.

"Toh beta main ye rishta pakka samjhu?"Asks Meeta excitedly.

"Haan papa mujhe Navya pasand hain."says Mohan to Deepak.

Navya looks at Mohan and then at Anant. "Ji Maa" says Navya looking down.

Om and Deepak hugged each other and congratulated while Sugandha and Meeta hugged.

"Mai ye kangan laayi thi,ye humare khandani kangan hain,socha tha ki agar ye rishta pakka ho jayega toh mai apni hone wali bahu ko pehnaongi"says a happy Sugandha.

"Jee kyun nahi"says Meeta.

Sugandha tries to put those bangles on Navya's wrist but it does not fit in her hand. Everyone became a bit disappointed. Anant looks at everyone's sad face and says "Laiye Maa,main in kangano ka size thik karwa dunga"

"haan ye thik rahega beta"says Sugandha "arae beta Navya tum Anant ko apne haath ke size ka koi kangan dedo"

"jee"says Navya and they both walk towards her room.

Both were feeling awkward.

"umm Navya"Anant tries to break the silence "Tumhe iss rishte se khush toh hona?"

Navya looks at him. "nahi I mean tumhe Mohan bhai pasand toh haina?"

"Anant, agar mere parivaar ki issi mein khushi hain toh yehi sahi"smiles Navya.

She hands him her bangle and as she gave their hands touched. They had an eyelock.Navya quicly broke the eyelock and went out. Anant followed her.

"Acha Mishra ji ab hum chalte hai aur jaise aapse baat hui thi ki hum inki shaadi Navya ke MBA complete hone ke baad matlab 6 mahine baad hi teh karenge." Says Om.

Navya smiled a bit hearing this. "Jee Bajpai ji,acha Namasty.says Deepak

They all went. Anant again looked back at Navya while Navya seemed to be lost in thoughts.

Okay guys, this is it. I don't know how it turned out to be,it was a kind of filler chapter but it had to be to move this story forward. Anyways do tell if u like it or not n sorry to disappoint if anyone didn't like this chapter.😊
