They should show more interaction, but why should Ganga have objection about him being late. Promise to children can be fulfilled later, but his duties are more important. Kids will be disappointed, but can be taught to understand the situation. I would have loved if they could show Ganga understanding the duties of Jagya and fulfilling his promise and take the kids to mela - they have own jeep so it would not have been difficult. (Nandu is Perter Pan - stopped growing a long time back and his friends were also too young, some looked like 5-6 years old).
Yes, I too did not understand why Ganga and makhan together could not have taken the kids to the mela even if for a really short visit.
