Anurag Basu's next movie Jagga Jasoos' will reportedly be a series of films and not just a one off production.

Jagga Jasoos' will once again see Basu team up with his Barfi!' star Ranbir Kapoor.

Ranbir will play a young detective, who hasn't turned twenty yet, in the movie, and the actor had upped his fitness regime to look perfect for his role.

While shooting for Bombay Velvet', the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' star took his cook and trainer along with his him, so that he can stick to his fitness regime.

His look in the film is the reason he kept strict tabs on his diet.

Jagga Jasoos' will also feature Katrina Kaif.

Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor Prep for Jagga Jasoos' 25 Songs

Rabir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will soon be seen together in a detective comedy Jagga Jasoos.

Bollywood's rumoured lovebirds Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will soon be dating at work. The couple are all set to start shooting for the next schedule of Anurag Basu's upcoming detective comedy Jagga Jasoos which is a musical with over 25 songs. Jagga Jasoos is believed to be the reason behind Katrina's absence from Cannes.

The movie, which is being touted as a laugh riot, holds lots of promise for fans of the lead pair. The movie will also feature Govinda as Ranbir's father. The grapevine suggests that the team will fly to South Africa soon to shoot for three weeks. (Also read: Will Katrina Kaif marry Ranbir Kapoor next year? )

The Rockstar actor is quite excited to work with Govinda. In an interview, he said, "I am very excited about the film because we all somewhere have been influenced by Govinda as an actor and dancer. For me, he playing my step-father is really an exciting opportunity for me."

Jagga Jasoos is very close to Ranbir's heart, not just because his reported sweetheart Katrina will be his leading lady, but because the actor is co-producing it with Anurag Basu and will play a detective for the first time.

Ranbir, who has completed shooting for his next film Bombay Velvet, had to quickly lose weight to transform his look from a beefy street fighter to an 18-year-old for Jagga Jasoos.

Meanwhile, it will be a bit hectic for his alleged girlfriend Katrina Kaif. The actress, who is busy shooting for Knight and Day remake Bang Bang, will now be making time for Jagga Jasoos. The actress was in Abu Dhabi for two weeks for an intensive action shoot and will now be leaving for Prague with Bang Bang co-star Hrithik. (Also read: A welcome break for Ranbir-Katrina )

Jagga Jasoos team will soon fly to South Africa

It has just been heard that the much talked-about film Jagga Jasoos, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Govinda is all set to start its next schedule in South Africa. The team will soon head there for three weeks of filming.

Insiders say that the beautiful locations will be highlighted in the romantic numbers of the film. Our source says, "South Africa has some amazing locations that are apt for filming romantic songs, besides the scenes of course. Ranbir and Govinda will start shooting there by the end of the month. Katrina is expected to join the cast and crew a little later as she is also juggling the schedules of Bang Bang and Phantom."

We also hear that Katrina and Govinda have been catching up. "Their last film together was Partner when Kat was still a newcomer. So the two have been reminiscing those days." As of now director Anurag Basu and his team is concentrating on finishing filming in time as Jagga Jasoos is expected to hit the theatres next year.

Katrina to join Ranbir for Jagga Jasoos

A source close to the actress says, "Katrina is leaving tonight for SA and she will be back in Mumbai after a month."

It is being said that the South Africa schedule is an important one, as many crucial sequences and a few songs will be shot there.

"Ranbir and Govinda, who interestingly plays the former's father in the film, will start shooting in South Africa from May 22 onwards, while Katrina will join them on May 25. She will be there for a month, after which Katrina will come back to Mumbai to finish remaining portions of Siddharth Anand's film, Bang Bang," says the source.

Jagga Jasoos has Ranbir playing a detective for the first time. This film also brings together Katrina and Ranbir after a gap of more than five years; their last film, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani', was out in 2009.
