Heropanti will be aiming to have the best opening for a film starring a new solo male lead. The best number so far is Ishaqzaade at around 4.50 crore nett. Student of The Year managed a higher number but that was a different kettle of fish as it was a big budget production and heavy marketing spend.

Heropanti is half the cost of Student Of The Year at around 25 crore and if it can get a 4-5 crore nett opening day number it will be a good stepping stone to go on from.

Although it has a star son, its not quite the same market today as it was in the early 80's when films like Betaab, Love Story and Rocky opened to bumper initials and it requires the music or marketing to make a mark. The last few weeks has seen Heropanti create awareness with its promotion and songs like Whistle Baja.

I don't understand why they are promoting the movie using Whistle Baja song. There are so many other great songs in the movie like Rabba, Tabha, Raat Bhar and so on.

I get that Whistle Baja is the most peppy number but I liked Rabba more and I haven't even watched its video just heard the audio.

Heropanti's music reminds of the good ol' (i.e. enjoyable with a story that doesn't defy logic, mid-to-heavy on emotions) BW movies from the 80s and 90s - boy meets girl, boy falls in love with the girl, fighting, and they lived happily ever after or something like that.

I might even give Heropanti a try and I am only excited for Mary Kom this year, none of the other movies with big stars sound as exciting other than may be FAN (release date 2015?).

It's well hyped. 1 Song + Action stunts have mainly gained the hype.

But the key reason for this to succeed will be the dry month we just had. Heropanti seems like something youth would go watch after no major films since 2 States.

No jokes. I see it happening bro.

Though I am not a fan of Tiger. I see this film working compared to any film for another few weeks. I mean Holiday might underperform. Fugly can be sleeper hit at max while Humshakal got poor response so far. So I am sure this will work. Well unless it's extremely bad but I see this film having some hype. Which is a good sign. Well anyway. Let's see. Good luck to Tiger.

25 crore budget, so needs 40+ to become clean hit. I see it happening, if it's an engaging film. If it's anything like Kambakt Ishq though, it'll tank. 😆

This film might do good business for the lack of any other films being released. But Tiger's DD is so cold just like his face. The guy needs to do something about his looks. Kriti is good though, loved her in One.

Not much competition for this film. Hope it works well and strikes a chord with the youth :)
