The sunlight poured into the library through the window, waking Randhir up first. Looking down at the beautiful girl on top of him, he smiled, remembering the events of last night. Picking up his cellphone, he glanced at the time - it was 7:15 AM.
"Sanyukta," Randhir said, stroking her hair gently. "Wake up. We have to be in class in less than 45 minutes.
At this Sanyukta shot up and rubbed her eyes. She got off Randhir and stood up, holding his shirt in her hands. Stretching his arms, Randhir stood up too.
"Good morning beautiful," he whispered, kissing her forehead.
Sanyukta smiled at him and held out his shirt for him to take. "Good morning sexy," she said, giggling.
Grinning, Randhir took the shirt from her and put it on. "This is the best morning ever," he told her honestly, grabbing her waist and pulling her close to him, just like he did last night.
"Randhir, my breath stinks, it's early in the morning - not right now!" Sanyukta said adamantly.
"I don't care," he told her, bending down to capture her lips with his. She kissed him back with hesitation, but eventually gave in and allowed him to deepen the kiss.
"Mmm," he muttered against her lips. "Let's study together tonight."
Sanyukta gently pushed him back. "No," she said firmly. "Randhir we have exams in two weeks! And you know if we study together, we won't get any studying done."
"Fine," he sighed, frowning.
"Anyways we have to go and get ready for class Randhir," she told him, kissing his cheek.
Then they both walked out of the library together before parting ways to go to their respective dormitories to get ready for class.
In PKC's class, they both stole glances at each other from opposite sides of the room instead of focusing on the material. Randhir knew he might have to pay for it in the form of his grades, but he didn't care - he still knew he would do well regardless of how much he paid attention, and he knew Sanyukta would too. She was a very bright girl.
After class, Randhir was sitting in an empty classroom with his head in his books, trying hard to focus on the material in front of him when Vidushi entered the room.
"Oh," she said dryly, noticing Randhir in the room. "You're here."
Randhir rolled his eyes and returned his attention to his textbook without replying to her. Vidushi sat beside him and looked over his shoulder at the textbook.
"Randhir," Vidushi started, "I need help. I need to be in the top 10 for the job I want Randhir - you know I'm poor and my family is counting on me."
Randhir slammed his textbook shut, and was about to get up and leave, not able to tolerate Vidushi's nonsense, when she grabbed his arm.
"Please Randhir, hear me out. I have something to tell you about Sanyukta too," she requested calmly.
Randhir looked at Vidushi with an expression of disbelief. "What do you want Vidushi?"
"I saw Sanyukta and Parth together," she said simply, looking like she pitied him.
Randhir felt annoyed with Vidushi's involvement in Sanyukta's life. "So?" he asked her.
"So they were really close."
Randhir felt the colour drain from his body when she said that - it wasn't that he didn't trust Sanyukta... he just didn't trust Parth.
"What do you mean?" Randhir asked, feeling the urge to know more.
"I mean they were close."
"How close?"
Vidushi moved her face closer to him, a few inches away from his face. "This close," she whispered, before moving back.
Randhir was going to snap at Vidushi and tell her to stop wasting his time when he noticed Sanyukta standing in the doorway with tears in her eyes.
"What the -" he said, "This is unbelievable."
He grabbed his book and ran out of the room after Sanyukta.
"Sanyukta why are you crying?" Randhir asked her, grabbing her arm to stop her.
"Randhir, Vidushi? You told me you could find sexier girls than me to kiss, so you choose Vidushi?" she asked, her eyes bulging with anger.
Randhir's eyes widened. "Are you crazy?" he asked her, grabbing her shoulders, trying to bring her back to her senses. "Sanyukta are you out of your mind?"
Before he could bring himself to say anything else, she pushed his hands off her shoulders and ran away.
Great. Sanyukta doubted him over Vidushi. He couldn't stand Vidushi. One glance of her would put him off, and Sanyukta didn't have that much faith in him.
A few hours later, Randhir received a text from Sanyukta which said that she was coming to his room to meet him. Randhir bolted to his room right away to catch her there.
As fourth years, they were given single rooms. Randhir was grateful that he didn't have to share with Jiggy and Parth anymore because those two boys had to be the most annoying people he had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting.
Sanyukta was already standing outside his room as he approached. He quietly unlocked his room, allowing her in and locked the door behind her. Upon turning around, he realized that she was in tears.
"I'm sorry Randhir," she croaked, turning her face away from him.
Randhir took a deep breath and held on to her shoulder reassuringly. "Sanyukta, I can't see you cry - please don't," he told her warmly. "I'm not mad at you. I wish you trusted me right away and knew that I would never do that, but I don't blame you... you've only ever known the egoistic, chauvinistic Randhir Singh Shekhawat."
When she turned around her eyes were red and puffy, a state that Randhir didn't enjoy seeing her in. "Come on," he told her softly, wiping her tears with his thumbs. "Don't cry."
She cried even more. Randhir took her in his arms and held on to her tightly as she continued to cry. "If I ask you for something, will you give it to me Randhir, without asking me any questions?" she asked him through tears.
Randhir felt his heart start to beat faster, worried about what it was that she would ask him. But nevertheless, he knew that he would do anything for her happiness. "If it makes you happy, then I'll do anything Sanyukta - just ask and see," he told her as he rubbed her back affectionately.
"Make love to me Randhir."
