Why does everyone call her Asha Tai and not Asha Ji or something else?

What does Tai mean?

In yesterday's epi that newly-wed-guy said Asha Ji then said sorry Asha Tai😕. Any idea why?

tai means sis, most marathi's refer to their sister as tai(doesnt have to be elder)

I guess the "tai" comes from her home

ohh I thought bcz may be Udit Narayan considers R D Barman as his elder brother so thats why Aditya considers Asha ji as his Tai

but Marathi meaning can also possible

but isnt Ashaji is much older as aditya's sis😕
