Omggg! ...Did Prachi change her Surname??

Finding the right new face can be a very daunting task for any production house or a channel. Now after and Bani (Prachi Shah) and Saloni (Rajshri Thakur) Zee has pinned down Priyamvada SS aka Simran as their new lead protagonist for Rahul Bhatt's Meri Doli Tere Angna.

Piercing eyes, sharp features, and a very pleasant smile to go with Priya comes across as a simple middle class girl. The archlights haven't changed her,as the peppy lass continues to take the Dombivli local to reach Future Studios in Goregaon for her shoots.

Flashing her 100 watt smile she says," I was earlier selected as a lead for Miditech's Parivaar but certain things did not work out with the production house. But I was very fortunate as the channel selected me for this particular afternoon show. "

So, what's her role like in Doli we ask? "I play a very simple orphan girl. She's brought up by her chachi and chacha. Her life revolves around them and her dreams are shattered when on her wedding night her husband tell her that he loves someone else. Now what choices will Simran make in life? The story takes on from there. It's Simran's struggle to get love and her constant dilemma in life." she says

But hasn't one heard this before? Quick comes the reply, "it's like everybody has a home, everybody has a marriage and everybody has a life; but isn't life still different for each one of us.Things are similar yet different. The presentation, subplots and the basic story makes the soap stand out from the rest of the stuff being dished out on television."

Priya started her career with modeling and later got her first break on the small screen with Dil Najane Kyun. One has also seen her in a few episodes of Bhabhi and Antariksh.

"I never wanted to be an actor. So, this is not like a dream come true. I feel it's a great sense of responsibility to be the lead protagonist of a show. I just hope I can
live up to it. Also, it's a very hectic and a labourious job. One is working round the clock. But when the offer came up, then I thought why not give it a try, " says Priyamvada.

Equipped with a BA in sociology and a degree in advertising, this homely girl loves to be at home with family and friends when not working. She loves to click pictures and watch Marathi serials in her free time..

Very matter of factly she says,"I don't watch too much television, but whenever I do I try to absorb as much of it as possible. I believe, acting is like cooking;so one has to put in the right kind of emotions in every act. Though, in the future I would love to try my hand at copy writing."
