Ayushmann Khurrana claims to be in Shoojit's next; director denies

Confusion seems to be reigning in as far as Shoojit Sircar's cast for his next film 1911 is concerned. The film which is based on the 1911 IFA Shield where Indian football club Mohun Bagan defeated a British team, East Yorkshire, for the first time in history, will see John Abraham playing the lead.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana had claimed sometime back that he has been confirmed to play the second lead opposite John Abraham. However, looks like this announcement made by Ayushmann which was published in a leading daily has not gone down well with the film's director Shoojit Sircar. The director claims that his words were misconstrued.

With an intention of setting the record straight, Shoojit through his publicist issued a statement which read, "I am currently busy with the scripting of 1911 and I had spoken about the film to Ayushmann and he had agreed to do it, however I would like him to read the script when it is ready and then decide finally."

Looks like Ayushmann jumped the gun a little too fast in this case.
