As promised, here's the second installment of the DK Milan Katha that I promised! :)
We left off yesterday with a pareshaan Devu over a gayab Kaju...and we start today with a pareshaan Devu over a gayab Kaju. Tell me - what are the chances that he actually would have found her - they way he was looking for her from his car, simply looking this way at that...I didn't like this scene.
Of course, Kaju goes to the same mandir that she and Devu went to after she convinced him to agree to marriage. She goes and stands in front of the same bhagwan that she had prayed to for Dev's life, and asks him to help her see the difference between a lie and the truth. Dunno if any of you noticed, but here, Kaju merely calls Dev "admi"...poor girl...she doesn't want to call him by the wrong name in God's house, so she merely calls him "that man"...pata nahi uski uljhan ka ant kab aayega!
It was so cute when she was hiding from him. It reminded me of the time when she hid from him in the woods outside his farmhouse. I dunno why she actually thought she'd be able to escape unnoticed by him - but that doesn't matter - God obviously had other plans. But what confuses me is How In The World Did Devu End Up Directly Behind Her?!?! One second we see them walking in two completely different directions, and in the very next second, he's standing directly behind her! Uska sach much koi hamshakal hai kya?!?! 😆
Devu's initial irritation when she tried to run from him again was so cute and funny. As if he were saying "dammit woman, stop running from me!" He grabbed her in that signature adda of his and immediately demanded that she shut up! It was so cute! He was acting as if he was talking to a child! 😆
And then, he began with another monologue that caused her to have another flashback...yet one more attempt from Mr. DPS to convince his Kaju barfi that he is her one and only rajkumar. What I don't understand is, after Devu recited the entire history of what that mandir meant to Dev and Kaajjal's love story, How Can She NOT Belive He Is Dev?!?! I mean really?!?!? Dev was so irritated at her in this scene, lekin phir bhi voh kitna seh raha tha - just so he could make her beleive him...he's so desperate for her to just believe him! That desperation is so apparent in his voice when he recites his mandir monologue...especially when he talks of that locket she gave him...all the while, she simply stands there and looks at him as if every word coming out of his mouth is a lie. She stood there and looked at him as if she were obliging him by tolerating more of his lies...god I wanted to grab her and shake some sense into her!
When he vowed of his being Dev AGAIN, this time swearing on the agni, how could she not see the pure innocent truth in his eyes? When he finally looked up at her, with his hand still above the diya, he was so desperate for her to believe him...that look he gave her was full of hope, and a desperate plea that she beleive him. Finally, when she began running towards him, his face lit up as though he'd won the world cup. There was sheer joy on his face because he had finally won her trust...she believed him. Even when she removed his hand from the fire, the look of utter disgust she gave him confused him, that confusion came across in his face, but the joy still radiated through his eyes...he really thought he won her confidence. (Apu's acting has to be commended here...the way the confusion and happiness were both conveyed at the same time...that has to have been hard to come buy, but he pulled it off with such finesse....)
But next, instead of realizing how stupid/silly his Kaju is, he praised her love for him, and degraded his own efforts and attempts in convincing her instead. (Vah, kitna mahan hai mera Dev!) In that moment, he stood there, as if he were defeated and then, realized that he had but one card left to play - one that would undoubtedly convince her...or atleast, he hoped it would.
Sidetrack: I've been loving these kidnapping/dragging from one place to another scenes of late. A ragging/desperate DPS frustrated in his own attempts to prove to his lady love that he is who he is...I absolutely LOVE it! Esp. The way he grabs her at the crook of her arm, right above her elbow...*swoon*
When Devu brings Kaju to the terrace and reminds her of her "suicidegiri", the initial tone of his voice is very matter-of-fact, but he's also very irritated that its come to this - very irritated that his Kaju doesn't believe him. This is Dev Pratap Singh, after all - he's not used to losing, and he's just been forced to admit to himself ki voh nakam raha...despite everything, this irritates him. This comes across plainly in this scene. Note Kaju's expression in this scene as Dev again goes into monologue mode explaining to Kaju her own "suicidegiri". It looks as if the lightbulb has FINALLY gone off in that brain of hers! She looks astounded to know that "Raju" knows about her attempt at suicide to convince Dev to marry her...she knows there is no way he can know about that, and therefore, Finally Begins To Believe!!! ITS ABOUT TIME!!!!
Next, a very heartbroken, Devu tells Kaju of his plans to reciprocate her "suicidegiri". Freeze that Frame! Look at the expression on my Devu's face!!!! Guys, I was BLOWN AWAY...Apurva, you've Completely Blown Me Away With This One Expression Today...I have No Idea how You've Done It....I can't praise or applaud you enough!! Guys...In this one look, Apurva has managed to capture love, desire, passion, heartbreak, anger, irritation and desperation. Really look at that expression when Dev says to her that he's going to jump from the same place she once did...- freeze that shot and look at that face...it will blow you away! Apu and ONLY Apu can capture all of those emotions in one expression like that! Apu, you deserve the Oscar for this for sure! I really don't know how you do it! 👏
Sorry, back on track: Devu, out of sheer desperation, must use suicide as his last attempt to make Kaju believe him...and if she doesn't believe him, then there's no point in living anyway, so he has nothing to lose. "Mere koodne se pehle agar tumhe lage ke main Dev hoon, toh mujhe rok lena...varna tumhara bagair mujhe zindagi main aur kisi cheez ki zaroorat nahi hai". WOW...Dev Pratap Singh...I Adore You! You don't want to deprive Kaajjal of her love, so you ask her to stop you if she indeed believes you are her Dev, but if she doesn't believe you, then for you, a life without her trust, without her, is no life at all for you, and therefore, you have no qualms about ending it. I salute your love, my love.
Notice the pure pain on my Devu's face as he delivered those lines guys - there was so much anguish in his voice...anguish because she didn't believe him. He really needs her to believe him right now, he really needs her to trust him...he really needs HER...and she's unable to give him what he needs...and somewhere, my Devu blames himself for it...😭
In the last moment, as he so non-chalantly pulls out the locket, he stands infront of the woman he loves, completely defeated, with nothing but his love for her radiating through the depths of his eyes that see nothing but her beautiful face. "Ye tumhare liye", he says - his gaze never leaving her beautiful face - he gently grabs her hand and places the beloved locket she had once given him in the hand of his beloved. All the while, Kaajjal is starring at the locket completely shocked...
I must say I hated how this scene was handled. I think the locket means to much for Dev just to hand it back to her so non-chalantly and then just walk away...that locket has been with him ever since he first met her...it traveled with him through his journey in his love for Kaajjal - it was there with him every step of the way. I don't like how this was written at all. If they were going to use it like this, then I think the locket should have perhaps been saved for the suhag raat instead. I mean, just think - we'll never hear of the locket again - Its gone forever - end of story - Kaju has it back now, and that was the end of it. Personally, I am not satisfied at all.
Ok, sorry for the tangent - back to the task at hand: When she after her long tirade of flashbacks FINALLY called his name, just as he was about to throw himself off the terrace, he for an instant, stood there as if he didn't believe his ears...and then, releif washed over his very being.
Resulting Finally in: THE HUG THAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER A MONTH AND A HALF FOR!!!!!! It was such a beautiful moment - so intense. First as if neither could believe the other was in their arms, and then they both looked as though their lives had just been returned to them after eons. In that moment, nothing else existed for them, they were aloof to the world, and they just couldn't get enough of each other.
Then, Kaju finally let go, placed her hand on her Devu's face, and looked him over as if she hadn't seen him in ages. She cupped his face in her hands, and begged him to forgive her for not seeing him standing there infront of her all this time. He stood there and starred back deeply into her eyes, willing her not to ask him for forgiveness b/c in his own eyes, he was her culprit. She heard his plea, and threw her arms around him again in response, and as if reading his thoughts, questioned his actions - she asked him why he tested her love in such a way....to which her beloved replied that he had no choice, but that if he had had the choice, he never would have let a tear fall from her eyes...he would never even have let her eyes become wet with tears threatening to fall.
In the next scene, Surveen was Wonderful, as Kaju asks her Dev to promise to never leave her again. It was so remenicent of the day Kaju and the gorrilla (😡) were to be engaged - she begged him to stay with her forever in the exact same manner that day too..."tumhare bina, tumhari Kaajjal adhuri hai Dev"...and her Dev calmed her fear by echoing her words. That was just beautiful...so wonderfully done by both Apu and Surveen...the intensity of the love that Dev and Kaju have for one another came across so beautifully in that scene. And the song - nazron se nazrein milti hai - is sooo perfect for the situation guys - when they were saying all this to one another, watch the episode again, and instead of listening to Dev/Kaju, really listen to the words of the song...its absolutely beautiful and adds so much meaning to the situation. Its absolutely brilliant!
The car scene today was SO cute! The two looked as if they were school kids going on their first date, stealing glances, unable to contain their happiness, smiles playing shyly on their lips. Aaaww!!! And the way Kaju grabbed his arm, hugged it tightly and rested her head on his shoulder so possessively!! It was SO cute!!! And it brought the cutest smile to my Devu's face!!! They both looked in that moment as if they'd died and gone to heaven!
And once again, kismat is on their side - and our side - the car breaks down! 👏 Of course, Mr. Dev Pratap Singh HAS to get out and try to fix the problem. Poor baby, ends up burning his hand! 😆 Probably did it on purpose just so Kaju could nurse his burn again the way she did during lohri!😳 Kaju looked so cute when she grabbed his burnt hand with such a concerned look on her face. He was in pain at first, but the mere sight of her made his pain disappear into nothingness. He forgot everything and was lost in the sight of her - mesmerized by her. She felt his gaze and looked up for a split second, then was about to return to the task at hand, but the intense passion in his eyes when he looks at her as she's nursing his burnt hand doesn't escape her, and she returns his gaze to hers. I LOVED this scene! She felt his gaze on her and looked at him and was about to go back to taking care of his hand, but then recognized the look in the smouldering depths of his eyes, and looked back up at him, partly shocked, and partly because she was mesmerized by the intensity of his gaze. 😳 She looks into those smouldering eyes of his and she too is gone - they're both lost in each other once again, and then, shyly, she retracts her hands from his, looks away shyly while a smile plays on her lips. He too looks away as he realizes ki uski chori pakdi gayi...and then again they look at one another, first stealing glances, and then lose themselves in the depths of each others love/passion filled eyes all over again. That gaze was So passionate...all aprehension melted away as the passion coursed through them both...
And just then, God intervened, and cooled them both off with some rain! 😆 But, the rain pouring the way it did, made this, their moment, even more romantic - even more passionate.
And then comes the scene of the day!
In the car, Kaju is completely immersed in drying herself off, and Devu at first is concerned with drying himself off too, but the moment he catches sight of her, he's lost in her - completely immersed in her beauty. He sat there, starring at her with those intensely passionate eyes...he just couldn't get enough of her. Suddenly, Involuntarily, he began to move closer to her (this was so reminicent of Jassi and Armaan...😳) - he was unable to stop himself from getting closer...he didn't want to. She realizes her rajkumar is now just inches away from her, and looks up at him, returning his love, mixed with a touch of shyness. His hand, on its own volition, touches her porcelian skin and then her hair...his eyes scan her face - starring into her eyes ever so passionately...his finger traces the outline of her beautiful face and then gently pushes her hair back...he looks at her intensly, unable to stop himself, but the intensity of that one look of his drives his Kaju to shy away from him completely - but not before she smiles to herself as she tosses her dupatta his way. *sigh* 😍 WOW!!!! What an intense scene that was!!! I have no idea how these two were able to contain their passion for one another...I was having all kinds of 🤬 thoughts just watching it! I can seriously say that this was one of the most passionate scenes I've ever seen played out on screen...before, for me, it was their dream dance sequence at Kaju's birthday, but this was NO dream!!! I've lost it completely! If just a simple afternoon drive with the rain can do this to them, just think about the suhaag raat!! 😳😳😳 - God, it was absolutely daringly passionate!! Apu and Surveen's Chemistry is Absolutely Outstanding!!!!!!
Ok, cooling off, and moving on! So, Kaju throws him her Dupatta and runs to the nearby "tabela" (JYOTI!!!!!! Your dream has come true!!! - So the romancing happened in the car before the tabela, so what?!?! Atleast its happened!! And don't worry, I see many more Tabela's in DK's future! 😃), her heartbeat and breath all in a frenzy, as this intense feeling, this desire, unlike any other she's ever experienced takes over all her senses. A small shy smile plays on her lips as her rajkumar shows up standing behind her with nothing but his passion for her radiating through those beautiful eyes of his. (Vaise it took him a while to get there, didn't it? - Maybe he was sitting the car inhaling the scent of her from that dupatta of hers! - Either that or trying to gain some kind of control over the passion coursing through his very being! 😳😆)
The look on Dev's face upon seeing this state of Kaajjal's was so cute! He was enjoying it! She was feeling her world turn upside down with this feeling of desire that she'd never experienced before, and he was enjoying seeing this new side of his beloved Kaju for the first time! I thought that was the cutest thing ever! 😳
He looks at her with eyes full of pure love, gently grabs her shoulders, and turns her to face him. Kaju looks at him as if to ask "what do you intend on doing with me?!?!" and then, he, as if to read her thoughts, ever so CUTELY holds her dupatta up and looks her in the eyes. The look on his face was SO cute! *hai....if I wasnt already dead with the steamy car scene, this one look definitely took me straight to Gannu bhaiya's doorstep!* The eye lock here was so awsome! Surveen has to be commended here - Kaajjal looked deeply into Dev's eyes, and with one look, conveyed to him all the love that she had for him...and he reciprocated - to which she again, looked away shyly.
They were so cute standing there next to one another as if they were two teenagers on their first date. And then, Devu the Gentleman once again in the pouring rain offers his jacket to his Kaju barfi - THANK GOD for that!! Seeing Apu in that wet shirt was like a sight for sore eyes!! - Sorry - am I allowed to say that here?!?!
Ok, gonna end today's Katha with the last cute scene of the day...when Devu says he's going to go get a mechanic...Kaju gets concerned and says "bheeg jaaoge!" It was SO Cute! She sounded like a concerned WIFE! Poor thing though - she was so DRUNK off those passionate moments she had just shared with her rajkumar, that she failed to realize that he was Already drenched! 😆
Not even going to get into the last 1.5 minutes of today's episode - I'd like to just end on a good note and not think about that stupid Karan converstation.
BUT, I would like to mention the preview...when they walked in the house, they did NOT have tika's on their heads - I am sure someone put tika's on them the very moment they walked into the house - before either had a chance to say anything. Therefore, based on the look that Kaajjal gives Dev when he mentions the word "shaadi", I AM SCARED! The only thing thats making me feel slightly better is that we don't have that stupid si chudail Ameesha to worry about tomorrow as she won't be there!
Today's episode made me blush beyond belief!! But, I'd like to thank the creators for finally giving us the romance we'd been begging for! I'd also like to applaud Apu, of course, and Surveen, for their performances today...both were Brilliant, and their Chemistry is unbelievable!!! 👏
And, I'd like to end with this song - for Dev and Kaajjal, and the passion that they shared today...
