Are ZAYA cousins?

Hey guys! So recently I and my friends got into this debate that they showed ZAYA as cousins, which is obviouslly related to muslim families, but also the fact that we love them as a couple and some people think that they shouldn't have been shown cousins cause to the hindu culture it seems awkward to watch them as a couple (no offence to religion guys so don't post any offensivecomments plz. ) Well what do you guys think. Are you guys enjoying them a s a couple despite the fact that they are also shown as cousins in the show.

Yes, they are first cousins. And considering it is a show with a Muslim backdrop, I don't see why Hindu people must feel awkward? It's not like they are portraying this in a Hindu family. I feel it is perfectly fine, and I am Hindu myself. I don't feel awkward, not one bit, and am definitely loving ZaYa's jodi and lovestory! :)

Well...i m enjoying it b'coz in muslim culture it is totally possible n expected if d cousins marry each oder...n d story, chemistry of leads onscreen and offscreen, concept...everything is really good...so i don't mind dat...still dats my opinion😊

I am a hindu myself but I don't feel any awkwardness cuz they r portraying a muslim background which completely suits n yes im enjoying the show the way it is <3

yes everyone is enjoying the show the way it is and i m enjoying it a lot as well but we just had a discussion about different cultures and we somehow started to talk about beintehaa with my friends and how people are accepting them as a couple even though they are cousins ( and i didnt exactly mean awkward in my post but u know sometimes people can be over thinking about the fact that they are cousins, though not in any wrong manner) . But yea e=nice to see everyone enjoying the show and i just love ZAYA too.

yeah agree m hindu n its allow in our religion too...

They are cousins. I am not Hindu or Muslim, but I find this couple quite charming. I don't think it should be used as an offensive aspect of the show. It is showing reality, and it should be accepted as it is.

In my place, there was a tradition among Hindus (esp in the high caste Hindus), not followed these days, that soon after a girls birth, their marrg wud b fixed to their cousins, usually moms brothers son, or dads sisters son. They were brought up lyk that ki u both r meant to b together... Even there is a word that they refer to their relation...

But there is sumthing in the show wich i caught. Other than Zain and Aliya, rest of them refer their cousins as sisters and brothers... 😆😆 (Aliya-Fahad; Zain-Ayat; even Barkat-Aliya..)
