The actors and the producers never said so!

So why jump to conclusions? Maybe that pic is just a rumor!

Unless there's confirmed that Ian is leaving the show, if Damon does die, they'll bring him back same for what happened tonight with Stefan.

Also in the book, Damon did die and at the end, the very last page, he came back.
