Jodha Akbar - Vachan ya Karuna???

So we are at a point where TE has progressed into Love - and his journey to become Insaan - e - Kaamil' has begun - and we are at a point where Jodha has not even started her journey.

I say this becoz this is the point that I had raised after TE's outburst on 4^th April - when Jodha continued to sing her song of Vachan - and today I once more wonder, what is greater? - a blind need to follow the Vachan aka 'Praan jaaye per vachan na jaaye' - or a need for Karuna in all the decisions that one makes?

If keeping a Vachan is causing pain and wrecking havoc, is keeping that Vachan dharma??? It is said that Vachan and Pratigya are the branches of the Tree called Dharma whose roots are Karuna - then can the tree and its branches survive if the roots get rot - can Vachan be above Karuna? - Can a promise be above compassion? Can anything be above Love?

Yes..at times.yes. Just like Bhishma stood by his vachans though he dearly loved Arjun.

I would break any vachan if it causes any issue

imagine if you know something grave happening and you keep quiet because of vachan what if person dies, get iinjured, kills himself or relationships break thennn????

u cant compare bhisma's vachan with jodha's vachan. the end results of bhisma's vachan was destruction of almost entire aryavrat and jodha's vachan is breaking only one person here. but still it is wrong what jodha is doing for the sake of one vachan. she gave that ridiculous vachan without giving a second thought about jalal. for her in this relationship there is an "I" instead of "Us". jalal on the other hand has completely submitted himself in love. there is no place for his ego in his love for jodha unlike jodha who still has not been able to get rid of her ego. the funny thing is hamida and jodha herself are self proclaimed lecturers on love and relationships. its ironic that a man who claims to have no heart understands love better at this point than jodha who thinks very highly of herself when it comes to relationships.

Though this is out of the JA context yet I appreciate your response - Bhishma keeping his Vachan / Pratigya when it came to war did not cause any pain or wreck havoc that could have been stopped but Bhishma keeping that same Vachan and not taking a stand based on Karuna at the time of Draupadi's disrobing - should he have still stood by his Vachan then?????

Vachan shd never be an excuse to hurt someone tat too, to this extent. Some ppl keep it and some ppl break it. But there is no set of rules for the ppl to blindly follow tat this vachan can be broken in such situations and so forth.

It all depends on the individual's sensitivity and understanding of the situation and the ppl who ll be affected by this vachan.

Ignoring all this and still going ahead and taking the vachan means either u dnt give importance to the person who ll be affected by this or u just don't care, all u want to prove is tat u r good!

There is no problem in giving vachan, but the problem lies only wen u stupidly play blind to everything and jus hold on to this excuse of a vachan.

There ll be nothing above Love cos u won't find anyone or anything more important than ur beloved.

And nothing SHOULD ever come between lovers. If either of them allow anyone or anything to come in between then it only means one is taking another for granted. They ll have thots like acha chalo, hum jo bhi karle, yeh hamaare paas hi aayega. yeh kahin bhi nahi jayega thoughts.
