CHAPTER 2

10 minutes later

Geet sat in car waiting for the green signal while tapping on steering wheel impatiently.

Her only concerned is maan. He is waiting for her at home.

Babajee... unhone kuch khaaya peeya bhi nahi...upar se jet lag bhi. Kitna takhgai hongey na...please aap unka khayal rakhna tab takk main ghar nahi pounch jaati..

Geet switched on the radio coz of boredom looking at the signal. RJ of 98.3 FM station was talking non-stop; it was her favourite program which she listens to it every day without missing. A guy requested a song to play for his girlfriend on radio to express his feelings.

RJ "So here I am playing a song from 1942 love story, ek Ladhki ko dekha tho aisa laga as per our Roshan's request..enjoy"

The song brought a smile on geet's face, this is the song which has changed her life; this song has brought her and maan together 10 years ago. Geet felt the nostalgia remembering those precious moments of her life. Geet thoughts went ten years back to the day she met him for the first time in London, Central library.

Flashback

"Ma'm your grilled chicken sandwich and chocolate shake, anything else you would like to order" waiter asked geet who was involved deeply in a book biting at finger nails.

Waiter again repeated her order "huh? ..oh! I am so sorry...err..Thank you...that's all for now"

Geet watched the people around sitting at the open restaurant's table which was near to central hotel while sipping at her choco shake.

Geet again got busy at reading her book, How to seduce your Mr. Perfect? Written by an author called premika. Geet ticked few points making a list in the book.

"Hey chick, this is for you" An American teen boy gave her an envelope chewing bubble gum in his mouth lazily.

Geet was surprise at first and then narrowed her gaze watching closely at the funky teen

"For me? Who gave you this?"

"I donno! I am not supposed to tell you that. My job is done here..bye ...by the way you are one hell lot of a hot chick.." he glided away on skate board before she ask any further questions without looking back .

"Hey! Wait..listen" geet tried to stop him.

Geet sat back on chair looking at the envelope.

It was bit heavy, geet opened the envelope checking for the sender name or any message on the envelope it was addressed.

Geet's eyes widened when she saw her photos. All photos were in black and white. It looked like someone was closely following and taking pictures of hers. Geet is sure that; these snaps were clicked today itself. She wore the same floral thin strapped white frock. Geet looked at the snaps; she is smiling at something reading at the book, sipping at her choco shake, kissing on cute baby's cheeks; smelling at the flowers..

A slight smile appeared on her lips looking at her beautiful snaps. She is sure that someone who is professional only can capture these beautiful frames. She looked everywhere to know who might have taken her snaps.

And suddenly she shivered when a thought occurred to her, what if he is a stalking serial killer or rapist. Geet shoved the snaps into the envelope and got up to take a leave putting few dollars on the table.

Maan watched her through the camera lens from the yacht. Today morning when he opened his eyes, he thought it was another beautiful day. Today he has taken full day off from shooting models for Cosmopolitan magazine cover photos. He is so excited coz his portraits of people(s) are going to be displayed in the charity exhibition event today evening. From this he will get many international projects and recognition. He left his penthouse early hoping to have his-time with the camera. He likes to click different kind of peoples (different country, cultured people). Maan focused his camera lens on flower shop and his eyes fell on the white frock girl who was smiling while smelling flowers in her hands. He thought she have a very beautiful face. Her smile made him to smile and he felt some fresh air just blown on his face. Something in her smile pulled him towards her..Something serine and heavenly.

Usually he never focuses on one person more than a minute. But these girls have photogenic face, a cover girl face. He clicked few more snaps before she disappeared in the crowd.

"Damn! Man"

Where did she disappear suddenly? 10 minutes later maan came on dock looking for his cover girl. He asked the flower shop owner about her trying to describe her features. The English old lady, flower shop owner pointed at the open restaurant and asked which flower he would like to buy for the young lady. Maan ran towards the open restaurant looking for the girl, he stood rooted when he saw her lifting up a cute English baby in her arms to kiss on chubby cheeks. Maan's camera continuously made clicking sound while he watched her through camera lens.

Then he saw her sitting at the table when a waiter asked her what she likes to order. Maan walked towards her subconsciously staring at her enchanting & mesmerized beauty. He sat on the bench opposite to the restaurant, watching her smiling at something reading the book and making points on her notepad.

He clicked few more snaps before she disappears again. He wanted to know her name, to talk with her, to know more about her. By look he guessed she is Indian; A very beautiful desi girl. Maan thought before getting acquainted with her, he needs to do something.

After 10 minutes

Maan stepped out from a local photo studio with a envelope in hand. He watched few teens doing street stunts on cycle. Maan walked towards the teen's crowd thing over his constructive plan.

Maan watched her hiding behind the tree when a teenage boy handled the envelope to her, which he bribed the kid with pretty good amount. Maan saw her smiling looking at the snaps of hers and immediately her leaving the restaurant. Maan followed her without making it obvious to her.

Geet waved at the cab to go to her hotel where she put up, when a cab stopped in front of her; geet informed "Hotel Sunshine!" At the same time Maan "Lincoln Street..!" Driver got confused whom to take first. He was thinking about the double fare he could get for dropping them both at a time coz both addresses are nearby.

"Ma'm ..sir! Both of yours destination is same...if you both could adjust, I can drop you one at a time"

Geet hesitant at first to agree with the driver's proposition but later she agreed when she saw a friendly smile on handsome stranger's face. Geet thought she had seen him somewhere, but where? Couldn't recall.." driver watched both intently.

Maan "I don't mind sharing the cab with a very beautiful lady...if she is not comfortable I am fine with it..I can look for another cab"

Geet thought for a moment "I don't mind" Automatically maan had this wide grinn plastered on his face.

"Perfect" driver said with excitement. "Hop in sir..ma'm "

Maan gestured her to get in first saying "Ladies first.."

Geet sat pressed to the window side when maan sat beside her in back seat "Thank you.." staring at black goggles covered eyes wondering how he might look without goggles.

Maan saw her curious look and smiled at her by extending his hand for hand shake "Hi..I am Maan Singh Khurana" maan introduced without letting out more information. Geet took his hands in her small hands "Hello I am Geet Handa" with smile..

Maan felt a jolt when he held her hand in his, immediately took back his hand. He don't know how he will react if held her hand few more minutes.

"Are you studying or something?" maan asked her hoping to know more about her.

"An archaeologist, I m on vacation and to see whole London plus museums" geet said while looking at his gel covered shining hair style which was combed back. Hair style - perfect.

Maan "Interesting! So you are here by your own...? "

Geet replied "Actually I have a friend here, her name is Nathasha..." looking at his straight nose -Perfect

Maan stared her face.. eyes, nose, plump lips everything is beautiful Nothing artificial about her.

Geet "What about you Mr. Khurana? What you do?" staring at his kissable mouth - hmm perfect

Maan "Please..! just call me maan" said while taking off his goggles.

Geet "Okay" smiled back and then suddenly her voice stuck in throat when realization dawned on her. He has those pair of predator's eye, which could be killed by just looking at them. She had seen him on tv before, in some channel or book?.

"I know you...I have seen you before" geet sat facing him turning herself fully on the seat.

Maan panicked for a moment but covered it with a sly smile "Me? Where? When?"

Kahi ise pata tho nahi chala ki main hi hun jo woh snaps bejanewale...

"well I am a professional photographer, I shoot for top magazine's cover photos."

Geet quickly checked for the camera around his neck. Maan knew what she is thinking

No Miss.Handa, ittni jaldi nahi...you have to wait till the evening to meet the mysterious guy who has sent those snaps.

Geet had forlorn look when she didn't find a camera on him. How badly she wanted him to be that stranger guy who had taken her snaps. She watched his clean shaved jaws flexing - Perfect.

Driver played some songs on car stereo, ek ladkhi ko dekha tho..song from a bollywood movie 1942 love story, both maan and geet surprised to see, a English guy listening hindi songs.

Driver watched their surprised faces through his rear mirror "My wife is Indian, her name is Canchaan(Kanchan)..She loves bollywood songs very much and I love her so much..." said with a smile on his face.

Both maan and geet smiled at him while listening to the melodious love song. "hmmm..ek ladkhki ko dekha tho aisa laga.."

Maan thought the song was perfect to the moment which he was feeling for this girl, who sat beside him humming the song along.

Geet saw his large sculptured body snuggled like a second skin with black turtle neck sweater and jeans in which he looked hot - perfect. All total he is Mr. Perfect.

When geet met his intense gaze, she quickly looked out of the window acting like she was looking at the street shops. Maan chuckled himself while looking at her cute pretense - Perfect

Driver informed them breaking their trail of thoughts "We are here sir, ma'm..sir this is the Lincoln street where it start from here and ma'm that is your hotel sunshine." Driver said pointing at the opposite building.

Both stepped out of the car, maan didn't let geet to pay the fare taking out his wallet. He paid the fare with tips to the driver. Geet protested but couldn't say much to him when he flashed his killer smile. - perfect

"So! Miss.Geet...this is it.." Maan said with his hands in pocket watching her every move.

Geet "yes..I guess so...and please call me geet" for some reason geet didn't wanted to end this day and she wanted him to talk with her like this whole day.

Maan "Okay...Geet, Well If you don't mind can I ask you something.." Maan asked her bit moving closer.

Geet "yes..you can.." replied while watching him come closer. People on concrete footpath walked like robots..without giving much attention to them.

Maan "Today evening there is a Picture Perfect exhibition and auction charity function at Gulmohar five star hotel. I have my works displayed in that exhibition. Would you like to join me? "

Geet couldn't say no to him when he asked her gentlemanly. But she already had made plans for today with nathasha.

"I-I-I am not sure. I mean to say I already have plans for the evening with my friends...I am sorry" geet felt like smacking herself for saying no to him, curse that nathasha...

Maan "No issues...maybe some other time...anyways here is my card and that is my private number. Give me a call if you change your mind with your evening plans. I would be so glad to have you as my date to this event.." said while taking out the personal card from his wallet.

Geet held his card in her hand staring at his engraved name on it - Perfect.

"Perfect" said without realising that actually she said it loud..

Maan "what? Did you say something?"

Geet recovered soon and said "nothing ..."

Maan has no intention to leave her any sooner. Yet he has to go back to collect his portraits for today's exhibition display.

"Okay..Geet its really nice knowing you..hope we meet again"

Geet "the pleasure is all mine maan...hope we meet again"

Maan looked back at her for one last time before stepping inside the cab. He sat there restless and felt like running back to her, wanted to talk with her whole day, spend time with her...wanted to know more about her.

Geet watched him getting into the cab and she wanted to stop him, Talk with him whole day while feasting on his perfectness.

Flashback end

Geet parked her car aside and stepped out in hurry to meet her maan. She is 20 minutes late already. Geet chuckled whilst thinking about him sulking sitting in his study waiting for her.

Geet unlocked the door and locked back while entering the house without making much noise. Geet searched him in kitchen, drawing room, in basement dark room studio, their room garv's room, guest room, balcony everywhere except his study in third floor. Without making much noise, geet peeked into his study just with her head checking for him.
