It was morning in Amer. Jalal had left the room to take a walk in the palace gardens. Jodha couldn't sleep either but was sitting in the room, once again blaming Jalal and Kanha for her troubles. "Even my parents don't understand me. Especially my parents don't understand me!", she thought.

Jodha heard some commotion outside. Shaguni Bai had shown up unexpecdtedly so early in the morning. Mainavati was trying to engage with her but her eyes were searching for someone else. Upon seeing Jodha, she practically lit up.
SB: Jodha, tu yahan Amer me kya kar rahi hai? Apne pati ke ghar me kyon nahin hai?
Jodha: Woh to, woh to, woh to hum par vishwas nahin karte hain. Hum Rajvanshi hain, aur Rajvanshi stree ke liye vishwas...
SB: Yeh Rajvashi kissa auron ko sunana, Kali Ma ko moorkh banane ka prayatn mat karo.
Jodha was shocked: Aap yeh kya keh rahin hain, Shaguni Bai?

Jalal, utterly shocked: Woh to Salim Chishti Baba ne kaha tha...

Jalal was shell-shocked. It was as if a million lightning bolts had lit up the world and everything was clear. As he walked around the garden, his face changed from self-pity and pain to calm, understanding, acceptance, and determination. He found his soldiers and told them to prepare for departure. Back at the palace, he sent a sevika to ask the Amer family to assemble for Shehenshah wanted to bid farewell right now.
As they gathered, he turned to the puzzled family members and spoke softly, addressing Bharmal first.
Jalal: "Raja Saheb, I was very young when I got separated from my father. A few days with you have shown me what his affection and care would have felt like. Just thinking about you, about Rani Sahiba, and everyone here makes me want to stay on. However, my duties are calling me and I must leave. May God grant me many returns here to enjoy your affection. I can never forget how happy it makes to be in Amer, and how grateful I am to its soil for giving me my Begum, Jodha."
Then he turned to Jodha:
"Jodha Begum, first I was hurt by your behavior and waited for your apology. Then I was shocked by my own words and planned to apologize to you in front of everyone for breaking your heart. But now I see clearly that we need to do no such thing, that we were put on this path to face our imperfections. It was my vanity and ignorance to over-estimate the strength and effect of our faults. When God has joined our hearts, they cannot be separated by a few ill-advised silences on your part or a few harsh untrue words on mine. Our hearts are not broken. Our love is intact, not only that but it has grown. Our destiny is waiting.
"However, I also know, only too well, the value of one's parents. What would I not give to spend a little time today with both of my parents together under one roof! I will feel some of that same happiness indirectly if you stay here with Raja Saheb and Rani Sahiba a little longer.
"Your home is exactly where it was and will always be there. When you come, you will find your husband waiting for you, not perfect but perhaps with fewer imperfections, and with all his love and longing for you. [With a smile] Be prepared for new taanaas, you have earned them. Don't forget to bring Kanha. I can not even imagine life without you singing and worshipping. But before any of that, be a good daughter to your parents, and to Amer.
"Take care of yourself. Khuda Hafez."
Jodha was perplexed when she saw Jalal geting off from the horse. However, he didn't say another word. He quietly scooped a small amount of Amer's soil, put it in his pocket, and got back on the horse. He gave a silent nod to everyone, motioned to his men, and they rode on.

Jodha didn't, couldn't say a word and just stood stunned. Millions of thoughts flashed around her mind. Finally a very faint smile settled on her lips. "Thank you God. First you give me an amazing family, and then an amazing husband. How many good deeds I must have done in my previous lives." She looked around at Amer. It was and will always be her beautiful and comforting mayaka. However, her home and life were somewhere else now. "Kanha, I have a feeling that you always knew where we are going in a few days."
If Bharmal and Mainavati could have heard her thoughts, they would have approved, but they really had no idea. They were puzzled and even a little worried by her continued silence and lost look. However, they were completely unprepared for what happened next.
